It wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that someone on his scale or slightly above would have something to fix Karlach, knowledge or otherwise. I mean, I would even agree to such a story ending with someone "wishing" to give Karlach a true heart or to use something like... I don't know .... divine intervention. This said, we already have access to divine intervention, but we cannot use it for Karlach. We should be able to actually.

@@gio-gioarmani2268 Ironically the scroll that Gale has for his resurrection, in the beginning of the game, 'should' be (but mechanically isn't), also a scroll of true resurrection. Arguebly, the reason Gale owns it makes it illogical to use it on Karlach that early, but at some point, and if not used, Gale wouldn't "need" it anymore.
She one of the latest addition of the group so her questline got cut short along side whole new area of uppercity. She wasn’t even on some of game poster. Lets hope larian add more to her in definitive edition or future dlc. For now, at least Wyll will take care of her in avernus while we waiting for future update.
In the end of the game when you run around to say hi to everyone after half a year you learn that Karlach have found a key to finally get her fully away from Avernus: a forge in hell that could potentially either improve or replace her engine.
Honestly, accompanying her to Avernus is probably I favorite of the endings. I like to think her and Tav make home in the House of Hope now that it’s been unoccupied.
dnd has a lot of possibilities to save her. false body for example. regeneration which would literally regenerate her heart and stuff like that. high tier spells, cost thousands coins but we would spend them all and play on tactics by reddit guides to save her cuteness.
We need post-netherbrain destruction dlcs for what happens in the 6 months or beyond with characters, such as maybe god gale building a following, or ascended astarion taking over baldurs gate, or tav, wyll, and karlach fixing the engine for good. There's just so much potential for post-game content that it's amazing
Karlach's biggest regret was her loneliness. Having Tav and Wyll join her in Aevernus stopped that. It's a great ending for her. She'd get bored really quickly if she wasn't lopping off enemies' heads on a regular basis.
Ive never played the game but karlach has my heartstrings wrapped around her knuckles in which she uses to punch me in the jaw whenever I learn more about her
I once ignored the paladins of tyr and enchaced leap my way to act 2 I really need slayer form and karlach left my party I never been more devastated I have her in all my games her dances and tankyness are my synergy
I haven’t finished the game yet, I’ve committed to karlach, because I love her character so much. But when I heard that she either dies or has to go back to Avernus, I’ve been reticent to finish the game. I’m genuinely thinking that to stay true to her character, I need to let her die as she did not want to go back to Avernus, and I think writing that ending was a bit of a cop out by Larian.
Honestly, it's something you have to get to the ending to really see, but when I got to that point, with my Tav having romanced Karlach, and with also having Wyll choosing to become the Blade of Avernus, having her fight to stay alive with us and try to find a way to fix her heart felt like the right decision. It doesn't feel like a cop out once you get there, it feels like _progression_ of her character, finally understanding that going back to Avernus will be different this time, because she has her love, and (if you bring Wyll) her shared-difficulties-with-Avernus friend with her this time. It's still bittersweet, and ABSOLUTELY feels pretty weak compared to a lot of the other endings in terms of the actual epilogue you get, if I'm being honest, but the intention of what is happening feels like the right decision.

😂 Please. Larian rewrote beast's story when they came out with the definitive edition for dos2. They're likely releasing a definitive edition in a year or two that adds in cut content. (definitive edition is basically the director's cut) There are tons of in-game hints she was supposed to be fixed, but when they axed the upper city, they axed her story. That's also why Gortash is sort of second to Orin and Ketheric, his story is act 3. Also the entrance to cazador's castle is supposed to lead to a tower but you stroll in through the main entrance.

For me, I would personally fix this by having Artificer released as a proper class in BG3. That way, with a high enough level (and really high skill roll), you can personally fix her engine for good with the Infernal Iron you collect outside of her main story quest (I had 3 chunks of it i didn't know what to do with)
I say be careful what you wish for people wanted an ending in cyberpunk 2077 where v lives and we got it all we had to do was sellout someone in the same position as us and lose every friend we had in one way or another and lose rhe ability to use cyberware in a world where of you don't have chrome you will die horribly if we get to loud about letting this sweet precious cinnamon roll we might get something where she dies and we get haunted by her ghost as a best ending

Everyone in life has to endure non stop peril in some way shape or form, she was ready to end it all due to her life being constant peril and having to do it alone. Now she’s ready to take on avernus with a loyal friend by her side therefore no longer having to go through life completely alone with a goal to push towards As someone who’s been completely alone for 16+ years believe me ! This is a happy ending She’s one of the most beloved characters in the whole game! We will %100 see her again in bg4 This studio isn’t know for dlc not to burst anyone’s bubble though
There's some debate about whether that is actually Karlach, or if Karlach dies and the mindflayer *thinks* it is Karlach (or is lying to convince you it is Karlach). We know from Withers and Mystra that mindflayers lose their souls upon transformation. So if she transforms, her soul would pass onto the afterlife or be destroyed. It is entirely possible that her turning into a mindflayer sent her soul straight back to Zariel. And this time it won't be as a mortal serving in the hells, but as a soul trapped for eternity.
@@TheTdroid I'd say her soul is destroyed. Yet the memory remains. So it is her but body chemistry is different. Hence change in her mood and personality. So it's her but in a very different shell.
I think my ending for her was pretty good, her and Wyll went to avernus to hunt down a bunch of devils while trying to find a solution for her engine. Meanwhile Astarion and I are looking for a cure for his vampirism lol
But it's absolutely depressing that the one least deserving of a bad ending gets nothing but choosing between a bunch of bad endings, meanwhile even the less "good" characters all get at least one basically ideal option for an ending, if not several.
Gale can give the crown to Mystra and get back into her graces and become her champion again. Lae'zel can lead a revolution against Vlaakith to free the Githyanki (alongside Orpheus if he didn't become the mindflayer, obviously). Wyll can be free from his pact with Mizora, with his dad still alive, and set out on his own path as the Blade of Avernus. Astarion can free everyone that he had taken under Cazador's orders, freeing himself and all of the other vampire spawn in the process, and finally having the chance to be his own person. Shadowheart, obviously gets to reunite with her parents and rediscover her connection to Selune. And obviously all of them also have their romance options as well, which are all generally still better than Karlach's, in terms of being good for the character.
Karlach kinda needs a whole quest to exist not just ending, at no point she learns or changes in story and her personal quest doesnt challange or put her into any situation, she quite litterally cant, she ignores you and yells at you whenever you try to help her really. She is stuck in a past and never moves on, her best ending being atleast returning to that past she desperatly wants ( tho she wants the happyness not avernus) is appropriate ending
She doesn't want to go to the past did you ever listen to her dialogue ? She despises Avernus and she would rather die than go back so all her endings suck

And in essence I think people who just want a happy go lucky end for her are downright ignorant to her story. She had all the power and time to actually change something, squatin in house of hope figuring out help, various artefacts to preserve soul or return to life. Death in DnD is a vague suggestion at best but all she does is mess around and wastes her time. Thematiclly all her endings arise from her own denial of reality and inability to move forward. Also her dying just returns her back to avernus in a form of a Lemure or Nupperibo since she likes using Soul Coins (only time she has any faint hint of refusing them is when she is your origin character otherwise she is excited for the power boost and ignorant to a destruction of a soul) which would twist your soul in such a way that it would be bound by 9 Hells.
My ending was to follow her to hell and start fighting devils with her so it was not a terrible ending....more like the start of an 80s buddy movie where we fight crime as a team...in hell?
It's honestly her best ending because she literally begs you to let her do it to save the world because she's doomed either way and wants to go out on her terms to protect everyone she loves. I still don't know why people expect sunshine and rainbows in a game that made it very clear in its second act that it's gonna be a very bleak story and the closest you'll get to happy endings are bittersweet
We need an "Stories of Avernus" side-stroy about Wyll, Tav and Karlach trying to find a way to fix the engine for good.
Avernus is a very challenging area for even a high lvl party, so a DLC where the party goes above lvl 12 would be amazing

Head-canon, Karlach, Wyll and tav are being doomslayers in hell and just chilling at the House of Hope.
Hopefully we get more official, but great thing about DnD is that its pretty easy to make up your own stuff, even play it out with friends.
