You don’t have to deal with so much posts and all the political stuff as well like on Facebook. Same you don’t have to see posts from unknown people. I like telegram so far... what i also like about, is that, if someone wants to chat with me and I don’t know this person very well and if I don’t want to give them my personal number, I can just give them my username... WhatsApp privacy settings I think it will change next month. 🤷🏻♀️

I use WhatsApp with my immediate family because most of my contacts are not on it. Presently I'm using "messages" that came with my Android but I have a hard time downloading pictures people send me. I was discussing this with my concierge at the resort while on vacation and he said to try out Telegram because it was easier to use if you already knew WA. Apparently downloading pictures is not an issue either. So I'm checking multiple YT videos to see what they are saying. I'm not sure either what's the difference with another app as I've never used MSN and all those other ones. I think your question is legitimate and it's a shame you didn't get an answer.

Just try it. It has everything you need. You can send any file with no size or type limit. It is cloud-based which makes it accessible from anywhere and any platform. Bots. voice and video message. It is a world full of nice and handy features.

As you said, cloud / all platforms. That is huge. The phone and laptop pair perfectly.... So I pull something up on my laptop, take a screenshot, send a PDF. etc. Continue the conversation on my laptop, chat etc. Then I stand up, walk across to the other side of the building, or travel, continue the conversation. You get the idea. And all my conversations, and images, and file attachments are visible right there on my phone and on my laptop. That is very useful. That is something sms/text cannot do.

Normal messages on Telegram are sent over the Telegram servers (which are automatically encrypted) so your messages are synced between multiple devices you're signed in on. Secret messages are end-to-end encrypted and therefore can't be synced to multiple devices you are signed in on.
How do you write to a Channel? I created one and I want the world to see something I write to my channel. Seems like it is all focused on Chat which I care nothing about.

A total headache for someone who doesn't know an app from a catflap and has never used the internet from their phone (ever! and doesn't want to, either!) Typically, at some point, all social media will have to find ways to monetize. Even if it's not paid subscription service, it could be paid advertising, paid add-ons or sell users' data to a 3rd party.
