- Telegram is a free, cloud-based messaging app available on mobile devices such as iOS and Android devices as well as Mac and PC.
The app provides end-to-end encrypted video calling and file sharing.
The telegram was released back in 2013.
Telegram syncs between all devices has no limit on the size of media or chat, allows for large groups, and is heavily encrypted with the ability to send self-destructing messages.
You can download telegram at telegram.org or you can search Telegram on App Store for iPhone or iPad or Google Play store for Android.
When signing up for Telegram, you do need to type in a phone number to get started and create an account.
Once inside the app, you can give Telegram access to your contacts, start a text conversation, call or create a group.
You can create one-on-one conversations, group chats, secret chats, or new channels.
Telegram groups are ideal for sharing stuff with friends and family or collaboration in small teams. But they can be as large as 200,000 members.
Channels are similar to groups, but they are public. And there is no limit to channels.

How do I create a new contact without giving Telegram access to all the contacts on my iPhone? If I click the + sign to add a contact, it asks for access. Is it possible to have a list of contact just for Telegram, without the app getting access?

It's sad really. I've gotten soooooo many of those scam comments from telegram that I have absolutely no interest in ever even checking it out/giving it a chance.
Who are all these people who show up using recognized names? How to know the difference?
@anj3595 you can tell because they have the Telegram bit in their username and if it uses too many emojis in their comments.
I had two people on u tube. One does clothes haul and one does true crime. I was chosen to get gifts from them. How do i contact them on telegram.

I just downloaded Telegram, so I am brand new. I have a team of associates that I want to BROADCAST with the Telegram CHANNEL .. but I cannot find the CHANNEL on my Telegram app now. Where can I find how to setup a Channel now?
I'm fairly new as well but I will try to help. Once you have set up your account, click on your profile pic or icon and it should pull up a search 🔍 icon in the top right corner. Just click on it and it pulls up all of the FAQs that you can click on and it will tell you step-by-step. Hope this helps. 😊

I added so many crypto channels my phone was buzzing from the chats 24/7 every 20 seconds and eventually it broke my old phone today lol, I disabled vibrate though and updating the firmware

Very well explained, thank you. I am a rank beginner on this app, so I'll have to study what you said many times. However, you didn't mention stickers. What are they all about? Earlier, I was in a group chat on this app, and of course it was easy to send text and attachments, but I was lost because many of them were advanced users of Telegram. So I hope the next time we meet, I'll know a lot more.

From what can recall when I last had Telegram...when you open a channel there should be a "follow" link.
Dude I'm rooting for telegram. But I just got a notice that they have 700 million subs but I still can't make a post! I see all my friends (so I know it's in my contacts). But I don't want to contact them because most of my contacts are NDA contacts. So I should be able to select who I want to post to publically. My NDA says I'm not supposed to send app recruitment messages. Telegram is failing me. And not allowing me to find new friends outside of my business contacts...or select contacts on my own now that it has a hold of my phone. I'm old. I don't need this ish. Why I came to telegram in the first place. Deplore FB, Insta, and Twitter. It appears Black Planet is the most secure, least bothered and also a paid platform. I just can't. Can't deal with this ish!
And when I say paid I mean they report spins to Performance Rights Organizations globally. At this point, I don't have time for much else and will note that in my lectures to my students. Because life is not about automatic in Black America....(no matter what these folks tell you. It's about being able to navigate through this ish manually as an independent, Black folk. Owning your masters is the only way you win.

Search them up
Telegram is said to be very secure, but the channels and groups are fairly public, so be careful and know that others can get intothe group or channel to create distractions - so your admin will need to be vigilant and users should tell admins about troble-makers. I find Telegram difficult to use on a phone and the content seems to jump around too often on its own.
Also, there is a slight change that Telegram has a backdoor to its encryption. IsraEli investors helped fund the company and that sometimes means Big Brother has access to some extent. No blind faith, people. Trust no one. Telegram's requiring a real phone number is a clue.
That's an interesting concept. A phone number isn't just a number, it's another form of ID.
@@DennisMathias At this point, I trust Russia more than the USA. Both spy on their citizens, but the Russian government isn't likely to call the American government and ask it to trade meta-data -- at least for a couple of years.

Yes, it requires a real phone #, but you can enter a fake one or a second phone # if you do it through Google Voice. You can slo hide your # from everyone in the settings. Then, they can only find you by your user name.
This would be good if I could see it! I am watching your video on my phone, so literally I cannot see the icons it is so small. And I have the 5 1/2 inch screen, but still can't SEE your icons!!! 👎

You should add iOS to the title, for ease of search. Since you're showing the iOS version of Telegram, that is very specific.

They've suggested that I download and utilize Telegraph. With my limited messaging experience I've only ever used Text Messages and Facebook Messenger. Hey ! I have a question. Telegram notifies you if you take a screenshot of a Secret Chat. Same thing happens on Instagram if you screen record using iPhone’s built-in screen recorder. Does the same thing happen for Telegram Video Calls for both screenshots and screen recording?
Whoever took the screenshot did not see anything, instead of the screenshot, there will be a black photo.

What does this mean, on a certain channel I get this all the time “unfortunately this group couldn’t be displayed on your device” when I click on the comments?
it means that the channel you're trying to open was banned, and is not accessible anymore

You didn’t tell us anything useful, you just told us how to text. You didn’t mention the channel in depth. How you reply to a channel it will show up in replies. And if someone replied to you in a channel , will it also show your reply or just theirs. And sometimes the channels have chat rooms. When does it show a reply thread and when doesn’t it?
Also… who shows up on share with and why
