Please compare Sync 20 and Calisto 7200. Although someone said Calisto 7200 is going to the end of product cycle, I "feel" it is still on a higher side than Sync 20/40. So, I am waiting for your test and review !! Detailed comparisons w/ wired connection, BT600 Bluetooth connection, and a simple Bluetooth connection, please.
Calisto 7200's specification gives fancy terms like PC wideband audio, DSP, acoustic echo cancellation etc. However, I don't see these features for Sync family.

Yes the 20 is no comparison to the 7200 from what I have read - specifically on noise cancellation. The 40 is out now - time for the comparison review. You would be the first on the internet if you did it soon :)

Anyone know how much better the microphone in the Sync 20 would compare with the one in the Poly P5 webcam? Thinking of getting the P5 for the superior microphone but will this be duplicated with the Sync 20, or will the Sync 20 further improve things? p.s. Great channel for the genre. Don't usually look for webcams etc but have found all these videos in a consistent environment to be very informative :)

@@CallOneInc planning on using them for a home desktop setup, with the Sync 20 being connected to the computer via USB as a no fuss always-on speaker for basic audio for the computer (I've got larger Bluetooth speakers (KEF LSX) but they'd be a hassle to turn on and connect before a call each time, so I was planning on getting some form of USB speakers anyway). Seating would be just under a metre away from both units in front of comp. The easily accessible physical mute button is a big plus for me which differentiates this from a cheap $20 USB computer speaker I could otherwise get. A camera off button like in the Logitech dock would've been even better though! Not sure if the above reasons are enough to justify getting the Sync 20 over just the P5 and a $20 speaker. A better microphone (clearer/even better noise isolation) would add to the reasons :)

Hi Danny. Thanks for sharing the great review. I’ve been trying to compare the poly sync 20 to the jabra speak 750. I see that they’re both full duplex, but haven’t been able to find any speaker or microphone quality comparisons. I watched both of your videos on the two, but couldn’t tell if there was a difference in the audio quality. Do you have any recommendations between these two products? Can the mic sensitivity be controlled? I bought a Sync 20, but it picks all the human voices in and around the house (kids play or people talking). I wanted to check if its possible to reduce the sensitivity of the mic in Poly 20?

    • @sachin2081

@@CallOneInc Thank you for your response.
I am looking for a speakerphone for two main reasons. (1) For taking few conferences calls for my Home-Offical purpose (2) For online classes for my kid (6 years old) and does not want him to use a headphone.
I have two kids (2 years and 6 years old) who usually play & keep running inside the house including my office space (which is not a completely enclosed area).
For my official calls, I am using Cisco 730 headset (wireless) and Jabbra Evolve 40 (wired). Noise cancellation works well on both (i think both headphone noise cancellation and WebEx noise suppression feature do a great job together). However, my usage is extensive on calls (at least 6- 8 hours a day) and I am fed up using always wearing headphones.
I think speakerphones give a good alternate way to attend the calls and even for kid's classes, a speaker with a mic will be a good option (ease of use for kids).
However, the mic on most of the speakerphones is very very sensitive and picks up sounds from a good 6 to 10 feet away as well.
I am considering Yamaha yvc-200, emeet Luna, emeet m2, and different Poly/Jabbra models. It was very confusing to choose one and I opted for Poly Sync 20 but returned it as I was not too convinced if it will be useful.
Open for any suggestions or feedback. I may end up buying Poly Sync 20 again if that is the right choice (At least the speaker and some level of ambient noise reduction were good with Sync 20).
      Thank you.

@@CallOneInc Ok, the good: the sound output quality is excellent, mostly, as is the battery life and the microphone range. It's also a sturdy device and looks good. On the downside, it's glitchy. You often have to switch it off and on again to fix inconsistencies. Sometimes there is a lot of crackling and the sound breaks up. Also, I teach English online (usually through Zoom), and more than one student has complained about the audio quality when I´m using this device. I have listened to recordings of the classes and the audio is not nearly as good as I would have expected. I bought this device because I don't want to wear headphones all day, and, at the time, it was a toss-up between this and the Jabra 510, (which is cheaper). In hindsight, I would have made a different choice. there are a lot of "impartial" reviews on TH-cam which are no such thing, and I was taken in.

@@goldenfrog6EsCoSes this is great feedback and provides context. There are so many variables to consider. I test devices in multiple environments and locations and I will say that sometimes if I am in a location with poor network signal strength, my video and audio quality performance suffer. Another factor that may impact mic transmit audio quality is range, how far from the speakerphone are you? The Sync 20 is up to 7ft per Poly. When it comes to speakerphones, one of my favorite speakerphones is the Jabra Speak 750 and recently I'm in love with my Logitech Logi Dock. Also, have you updated the Poly Lens software and Sync 20 firmware? This too can impact performance. And lastly, if you have done all the above, have you contacted Poly Tech Support? My internet connection is pretty good. The speakerphone sits on my desk, about 2 feet away from me. I have contacted Poly about the sound degradation (crackling) and they "do not recommend to pair the Scync 20 with laptops inbuilt Bluetooth." They recommend to use the USB cable without any docking, which kind of defeats the purpose of having Bluetooth. TBH, I haven't noticed any diference when using the cable. I have downloaded Poly Lens (as recommended) and regularly install updates.
