No matter what role he plays, he always looks like he's honestly enjoying it to the fullest. I totally and completely love that man. He's excellent at what he does.
Nathan Lane once worked with George C. Scott on a play years ago. And, as Nathan told it, Scott was observant of Lane’s manner while working and told him (verbatim, in so many words): “You look like you really love it.”
I'm 35 and grew up in the carnival business. 4th generation. this song always warms my heart. so many have no idea what we go through to bring those lights and entertainment to you and your family.. it's a few days in your town for you.. it's our entire lives.
Whoo, Nathan Lane is a treasure. One of the best thing about this movie. Branagh should take it more often in it's movies. Love him so much. Nathan Lane is so underrated in Hollywood, shame. Brillant actors : Birdcage, Mousehunt, The Front Page, The Iceman Cometh, The Nance, The Producers, Angels In America, Penny Dreadful City Of Angels, Good Wife.
One of my favorite films. I just watched the DVD again, a couple of days ago. Kenneth Branagh does "Loves Labors Lost" as a late 1930's musical. Stellar cast and fun fun fun take on Shakespeare.
Wow... the beginning shows a side of Nathan's singing that I hadn't heard before... his tone is so beautiful... and on top of that, he's hilarious, and can tap dance! He's a theatre geek's god. :P
I’ve watched as many interviews as I can with Mr. Lane. The one with Jiminy Glick never fails to make me laugh, but I watched one recently where he explained that he’s loved theatre ever since he was a child, so this video is particularly enjoyable to me. Mr. Lane is a brilliant artist and a singular pleasure to watch. He makes me happy and knowing that he’s doing what he loves means that something has gone right in this crazy world. I hope Mr. Lane somehow understands how much joy his presence brings to the world.
1950. I was a homesick little kid living in Africa. My mother saw there was a road company of Annie Get Your Gun and she took me. I was so proud to be an American. This was my country and my talented countrymen. I vowed that day to grow up and be an actress. Well, I sort of made it. I spent my career teaching and directing high school musicals! That counts, right?
Irving Berlin était un génie absolu. Il n'a jamais appris la théorie musicale (comme Trenet). Et il a produit des chefs d'oeuvre (Blue Sky etc..) et celui-ci.
He is good a different style, but it is Merman that makes me want to get up and cheer..she is a brass bang. Today October 14 Merman in Girl Crazy and 89 years later she remains the #1 Broadway Diva the likes we will never hear or see again.
Nathan Lane has a beautiful ophra voice. I love Nathan Lane so so so so super Duper much!!!!! END OF STORY! He is very handsome. I can see Timon singing this one too.
@SognoCapricioso Agreed. This whole song is Nathan Lane "stealing that extra bow." It's his inner Ethel on full throttle. Give a man credit for living the dream!
Aqui no Brasil, essa música encerrava o programa Show de Calouros. De 1977 a 1992 sob o comando do saudoso Silvio Santos. De 1993 a 1996 sob o comando dos jurados da atração
@MrCclynch1 Got that right. I love Nathan Lane so much. He deserves the credit and love and support. Nathan Lane should be nominated for The Grammy Awards. He would win lots of them no doubt about it.
Wow, Nathan really sings wonderfully here. He's a wonderful singer otherwise, but a lot of his singing roles are for characters who seem somewhat crass (i.e., Max Bialystock). This particular performance shows a very classy side to his voice.
Nathan Lane's about to play Ringmaster HamEgg in the "Astro Boy" movie. I wonder if he'll sing this song to Astro as he tempts him to join the Robot Circus.
well, i got to meet him, and i dont know if he is very snotty but my situation was alot different, i saw him after waiting for godot, and the guy next to me had like 4 different things for him to sign and after the 3rd one nathan looked at me like "this guys a shmuck" which i thought was pretty funny, and he was nice to me, but im also a relativly small 17 yr old. but i thought he was pretty nice. maybe its just me.
Mhm... I'm confused.. It's much different from the same song from Annie get your gun. And the description says it's from "Love's Labour's Lost" Can anyone help me =)?

One of my favorite songs sung by one of my favorite people. Nathan Lane is my hero.
The opening is just perfect.
I’ve watched as many interviews as I can with Mr. Lane. The one with Jiminy Glick never fails to make me laugh, but I watched one recently where he explained that he’s loved theatre ever since he was a child, so this video is particularly enjoyable to me.

nathan is the best. he's not the guy from singing in the rain but he can dance.
You mean Gene Kelley?
yeah, exactly. it's gene kelly not kelley though.
best part of the song: "yesterday they told you you would not go far, that night you open and there you are!"
very inspiring
Every performer's anthem
his voice is so beautiful and calming. I love Nathan!

Irving Berlin était un génie absolu. Il n'a jamais appris la théorie musicale (comme Trenet). Et il a produit des chefs d'oeuvre (Blue Sky etc..) et celui-ci.
Everytime I think I can't admire this man any more I find a video like this one
Den här sången hade vi idag på en kördag med Robert Sund, en riktigt härlig och showig sång. 🎶
I wish he'd write a book about his life. I would love to read it..
Nathan Lane is the funniest and most talented man that Broadway has seen in a very long time.
He is good a different style, but it is Merman that makes me want to get up and cheer..she is a brass bang. Today October 14 Merman in Girl Crazy and 89 years later she remains the #1 Broadway Diva the likes we will never hear or see again.

He needs to host the Tony's again very soon. The opening would be amazing!
Who else hears Timon? Haha, one of the many reasons I love Nathan Lane.

Wow, Nathan really sings wonderfully here. He's a wonderful singer otherwise, but a lot of his singing roles are for characters who seem somewhat crass (i.e., Max Bialystock). This particular performance shows a very classy side to his voice.
Definitely, especially the tap bits..
God sve the King Nathan Lane!!
The music here was conducted/arranged by Carl Johnson who composed the music to the "Gargoyles" series.

There's no show business like life.
Nathan Lane's about to play Ringmaster HamEgg in the "Astro Boy" movie. I wonder if he'll sing this song to Astro as he tempts him to join the Robot Circus.
Hey Maw, look at me. I'm tap dancing, and my physical therapist tells me I have no rhythm. I don't.
There's no freshness like Coles freshness
@froofiedadawg The song might be from Annie Get Your Gun, but this clip is from the movie Love's Labor's Lost.
I LOVE BROADWAY!!!!!!
With that moustache and the top hat, Nathan reminds me so much of Jackie Gleason's old character, Reggie Van Gleason the Third.
I did this song when I was in summer camp.
Love,zaryanna.m.casas

@Farnik01 Couldn't agree more.
It's not from The Producers! KNOW YOUR SHOWS!

is this a movie?
Mhm... I'm confused..
It's much different from the same song from Annie get your gun.
And the description says it's from "Love's Labour's Lost"
Can anyone help me =)?
his989 His character in Loves Labors Lost sings it. The director (Ken Branagh) set it like a 1920s/1930s musical.
Is this from a movie?
Love's Labour's Lost, Released in 2000. It is actually a Shakespeare Play set to Film. You can rent it. Kenneth Branagh directed it.
I'm pretty sure he said, "Mama! Papa!"
What show or performance is this? It can't be Annie Get Your Gun because he looks less like Annie Oakley and more like Jackie Gleason.
Iank14 It's from a movie adaptation of Love's Labours Lost by Wiliam Shakespeare.
love's labours lost? this song is from annie get your gun...
Sandy Wexler. Anyone?
MrFelix1812 me dude, love that movie
