I am 1000% percent biased but this is my favorite NFS game of all time. Personally, I only feel Most Wanted 05 is better. The soundtrack, car list, the physics, the chases, the cop mode, the tracks. Peak NFS man. "Almost all these games have cops in them". Cops are a staple of the series, which is why I never understood how people can say Underground is the best when it took out a core part of the series. Underground is awesome and another of my favorites but it doesn't touch this or any NFS game with cops. Need a PS2 copy? I have 3 I think. I'll mail you one
@@tarique1700 I know why people like it. I said that core focus is why it isn't the best NFS. Fun yes but outside the customization the racing can get long and repetitive. The cop games you can play the same race and get a different outcome.
The drag, customization, drift and the handling in underground 1/2 are just what makes it the face of NFS. Its peak NFS it has everything from story to racing with unique customized cars. Most wanted is a good game but without the cops it would be mediocre if not bad and underground is already as good imo even better without cops. Also racing and driving around the map without being annoyed by cops is also important. Most wanted is a dead game after finishing the story. Cops are good but underground series was just different Id say if they had more time to develop carbon it couldve been the best NFS ever since that game felt like a fusion of both sadly they cut alot of stuff from the beta and plans they had. For now I would say underground 2 is peak NFS.

It did well purely due to what was popular at the time, which business wise was genius. But it could never be the best without having what it made it the name that it is. Carbon should have been the best but it wasn't. You can customize cars in a lot of games. But no-one can make a cop vs racers game the way NFS can. Without cops it's another car game. Pursuits is what they do better than anyone.

The PS2 version of Hot Pursuit 2 is superior. The PC version has awful floaty handling and the physics are awful In the PS2 version you can disable/destroy cops whereas they are indestructible in the PC version
