WOW, I'm a dirt rider, but those corner speeds, these riders ROCK and I bet the setup is amazing!! (Suspension, rake, wheels, tires, and POWER, lol) I'd lowside trying to keep up, lol. I've seen flat track tires and thought about a build. I do supermoto, but flat track looks fun , FUN, FUN!!!

Aerodynamic's, If you look real close they're also ducking down. Head down, chest close to gas tank. Its awesome to see in real life and better to do yourself. Go see it for real. You'll be hooked.

I go to the race in Volusia every year and it has been getting much much better in the past 3 years, but I also go to the Daytona 200 and the track is almost completely empty
I would assume in the neighborhood of 80 to 100. Those are pretty much production 450 4 strokes. Modified with off the shelf bolt on Parts. Not quite sure what the final drive is so it’s pretty much just an educated guess.
Long track speedway shits on this. Faster and much more dramatic, sliding . This is like circuit racing on motocross bikes. I wonder how a 90hp at 11,000 Speedway engine would go. Even in 1975 they were doing 120mph on the straights. Tame.
A speedway is not even close to have enough room to go at these speeds nooby ..you are looking at 750cc, that hit 140 mph down the back stretch ..that never happens on to your speedway now does it ?..try saying something if you must that doesn't instantly tell all of us who know that you are such a sissy
Not even close grasshopper this is one mile of sandy clay for horses to race on but .the iron horses do it three times faster at 130+ down the back stretch and a hundred side ways in the turns ..today is the spring field mile that is the fastest at over 140 mph ..and the Indians will win again

Wait, what? The only thing they really have in common is that the track is an oval and the machines have 2 wheels. They are two different types of racing. The bikes are different. The race types are different. To say one is a copy of the other is doing both a disservice.
Not a copy, an evolution of Speedway racing. We had speedway racing in America, we still sort of do with AFT half mile tracks. The 750 twins class of AFT are much more powerful and sophisticated bikes than anything in Speedway GP.
Many decades ago, early 70's, they used to run a 1/4 mile race at the Houston Astrodome. One year a couple of Speedway riders decided they were going to race their speedway style bikes and show the Yanks how it was done. Now to be honest they couldn't run their bikes as they weren't the same engine size. But they were Speedway bikes with AMA legal engines. They got smoked. If they were to do it again I doubt the results would be any different.
Dull, no dirt on the track, any European Longtrack racer would smoke these guys, on a proper oval track bike, No Breaks No Gears, 500cc and dirt on the track.

As for putting a Longtrack bike against the Indians in America, well, it would be interesting for sure, as the Longtrack bikes are lighter, corner faster, accelerate faster, BUT due too small fuel tanks can't do distances, 4-6 laps tops.
First of all your 500cc speedway bikes can not even run half this fast on top end ..this track is a mle around it ..that's three times longer than your speed way ..a 750 Harley that runs a top speed of 140 mph will lap you two times before you can figure out which way did he go !!! Bahahaha

There's a reason they drop a foot and not a knee. GP racers actually probably can do well with practice but the dirt is way different than pavement

At a 40 second lap time that's a 90mph average, top speed will be higher obviously, 100 would be a good guess for sure.
