Just finished the documentary and now I'm here. He's too cool for achool and what an amazing team of people who all worked to give him his best opportunity. But when it was the moment of truth it was all on John and he answered the call.
Thanks - but not sure 'genius' is the right description. Very brave (my definition of 'brave' is being able to keep a level head even when you're scared to death) certainly and able to rise above his obvious fear and keep composed, thereby maximising the prospect of a positive outcome. He even did 2 go-arounds! Remarkable! They need to make a movie of this!!
John; "we were gong from the Humberside part to Doncaster area, then I saw the Trent and thought i'm going to have to do it". BBC lady; "Whats the Trent" John.....with astonished face; "It's a river" Brilliant!
Imagine having him as a grand dad. He'll be the coolest grand dad ever! He's so charming.
Sorry for the tardy approval & response - I've been quite busy with other things!
Yes - and so unassuming. Wonderful guy.

No matter how bleak the situation seems, NEVER lose the will to live! That's what John Wildey's story has taught me.
This man is amazing. I hope to be as calm as him under pressure some day. Freaking love this man
He's a genius and the video is utterly compelling.

Great man, Wildey.
If anyone could have done it, it was definitely him. He was cool and professional and seemed to have a good girl of common sense.

"Geography 101" LOL
What's the Thames?
He knew more about flying than he let on...former Air Force.
He was a reserve, he'll have an idea. But he's old and never flew before.
