@@Cisco2624it currently is king Jerrod but in the ending, it looks clear other souls took over and decided they wanted to free quan chi. I doubt Jerrod or sindel would’ve wanted that. Also, sindel for a moment appeared outside the body and used her scream so yeah, sindel is a host too
Hopefully it’s like the first timeline where he turns good and becomes a mentor to kenshi

At the end of the main story it seems like he’s gone on to act as a supervisor to Mileena, because the main soul in him is her dad. If I’m remembering correctly. It’s been a while since I played the story
Did you know that Ermac turned good in the original timeline? That's in MK Deception - Armageddon, so that could not be his first time.

Shame Jerrod lost control over Ermac,on the plus side Ermac still hasnt fully decided which side they are on yet,meaning they could still remain on the path of light.
I do think that they'll go toward the good one

Now if we were referring to classic Ermac alone then you would be correct as there he was referred to as a male.

So, in other words, this ending is a big middle finger to the possibility of King Jarrod giving us some detail as to what happened the night he was killed.
It’s possible he reveals what happened in the story expansion. Maybe even a flashback.

Some match dialogues (not with Ermac) imply this happens a lot, and they usually just beat him up until Jerrod regains control.

I like how this Ermac is more good than evil, which makes sense since all of the souls within him are good as Baraka confirmed in the MK 1 story. I personally prefer the good/redeemed Ermac over evil, blindless loyalty to Outworld Ermac. 1st Timeline Ermac and Liu's timeline Ermac FTW! I also love how ever since Deception Ermac always refers to himself as "We". Such an interesting and unique character. He's easily always been my favorite ninja.
I'm guessing & hoping for a neutral autonomous collective. Ha can & likely will be helpful if interests align but otherwise won't care much. He won't go out of his way to screw you over but you've got to give him reason to follow along.

So I'd say he's more good than bad or neutral honestly but under his own terms. He also talks sh*t to Shao, clearly not a fan of him so I definitely don't see Ermac being bad this time at all. I think he would help the good guys if it serves the greater good, Baraka confirmed the living forest in this timeline are full of good souls not evil, they may be conflicted but definitely not evil so there's also that.
by first timeline you mean midway timeline or netherealm timeline?
@@Honcat_ru The first timeline is Midway's timeline, the second timeline onward was NRS though it was technically a soft reboot as it didn't go all the way back to the very, very beginning of everything just to the first MK tournament. Everything that happened prior to that was the same as the first timeline. But yeah this was definitely it's own thing, the Elder Gods were far weaker in this timeline in Onslaught, Shinnok and Raiden never worked together and that stuff with Scorpion and Drahmin's mask was never a thing.
I like him being a moral grey. Neither good or bad.
Lesson of the story: everybody just shut the fkk up & learn to get along.

Considering Ermac consists of the souls of the living forest then considering that according to Baraka, none of the souls there are evil souls, its safe to say that Ermac is still a good guy. Its just that all the remaining souls need to figure out what they want and figure out how to coexist peacefully.

c'mon don't y'all know already that if a character dies in the story mode it doesn't disqualify them for the next game?? just look at baraka he died in mkx and came back for mk11, mileena died in mkx and came back in mk11, sindel and shao both died in mk11 and came back for mk1, even if it's a factor of the lore where the time line resets/collides it still doesn't make sense for them to permanently remove them from the games, especially when sindel's one of the more popular ones within the community, plus in the og time line she is brought back to life by kitana and jade so maybe that could happen again.
She will be, with this multiverse thing, anything is possible.

Yeah, this is pretty accurate to NRS' incoherent writing style tbh. They establish actually interesting stories like King Jerrod being the iconic red ninja of souls and Raiden becoming a darker version of himself, only to immediately shoot the ideas in the head before taking repeated dumps on them. If you hate these interesting ideas so much, why even include them at all?
I Feel So Sad About Jerrod When Ermac's Collection of Souls Re-Establishes Its control Then He retreats To Outworld's Shadow Where He's No Longer Quan Chi's Slave nor Bound to Royal Family!
So Ermac goes by his own choice like MKX and he can use powers from the souls he had that's new and cool

Remember when endings were one or two panels with written text? No voice over or animation involved. I love seeing how far we have come.
Hopefully Ermac can use new abilities.

There’s a chance this ending plus the Sindel one could be both canon Ermac stays as we the collective but eventually Jared and Sindel eventually take control or guide the souls to the path of light but until then we get anti hero Ermac who hasn’t really decided what to do with himself

Mk4 endings: Quan chi betrayed me and won.
Mk1 endings: Quan Chi betrayed me, and I curb stomped him.
I always knew Ermac needed Quan Chi's help.
Ermac was an April Fool's day idea for a character to be added in MK 3, so basically, he's origin haz yet to be said. So that ending doesn't help me with what he will do in the future.

I feel most of Ermac vs Kitana or Mileena dialogues will be about Jerrod demanding Ermac allow him to he dominate again or to let them speak to Sindel, and to Quan Chi about Ermac wanting revenge or demanding to be released
Looking at this ending, this is what they should’ve expanded on for Ermac in MKX. Not only that, it seems the only reason Ermac was evil in this timeline’s story so far was because of Quan Chi. But now the magic is uncontrolled, and maybe those souls are fighting for supremacy but now they simply have to work together to keep surviving.
Ermac becomes the strongest Stand User in existence.

I was hoping that King Jerrod's soul would be the one who'd be in permanent control of Ermac's body. To me it makes better sense for the overall storyline of MK1. The royal family could continue to rule Outworld forever in peace because Ermac could simply absord their souls when they die. Generations after generations he could continue to be the family advisor for...

OKAY, I've predicted the entire mk1 plot since the first trailer so listen close, in the next game, everything will go in a more traditional style, mileenas tarkat will take over, making her the crazy girl we all love, shao will rebel, and ermac will be taken over and be multiple ppl, shang will become a proper sorcerer and host a proper fatal tournament, there may be Johnny Sonya romance, but i have no clue who the main boss Will be since titan havik is probably the dlc boss

If Ermac was no longer govern by Jerrod's soul, then why in Subzero Invasion ending, he help Fire God Liu Kang use his telekinesis ability doing fatality destroying the body of Arctic Subzero? I still believe even he's no longer govern by Jerrod, he choose to join the good side team lead by Liu Kang.
Here's the thing, Ermac in this timeline is composed of all of the souls from the living forest. None of the souls there were souls of anyone evil. Even with Jerrod no longer in control, they were still on the side of light. Can't join a team that you were already on to begin with.

Can somebody explain me Ermac's history? Who he is...how he is linked w Jarrod.
LSS: In the original timeline Ermac was an elusive ninja in which he had only ever appeared at certain times and has almost nothing known about him.
In the NRS timeline (MK9-11) Ermac is a being created by Shao Kahn and is composed of hundreds, thousands, possibly even millions of souls across Outworld and even other realms. In Ermac’s MK9 ending, King Jarrod was revealed to be one of the many souls trapped within Ermac. Jarrod was able to fight for control over Ermac and was successful. He then rules Edenia alongside his wife, Sindel and daughter, Kitana.
Liu Kang’s timeline took a similar approach, however, this time he is created by Quan Chi, instead of Shao. Jerrod once again is one of many souls trapped and after being beaten by his daughter Mileena, he’s able to take control. After her death, Sindel’s soul was able to be rescued by her husband and stored in Ermac’s very being. Her and Jerrod must fight a never ending battle for Ermac’s control as the many other souls also vie for their control over Ermac.

Really? I think it’s a better improvement and makes it more interesting allowing the characters to express more and makes each ending have a different voice. Anyways the endings in mk1 suck because instead of what ifs they are all confirmed to be canon
