    Truly WILD finds! For "drivers" I prefer resto rods with technology/suspension updates. But for collections I do prefer those as close to stock as possible. 1923 Ford C cab is a great build!👍👍

    Interesting group of cars stuck together on this list. Actually lives up to the title of the episode. I actually channel buy a new subscriber to mine and through what he's subscribed to. The last one the Buick sign by Elvis which doesn't appeal to me. And the owner could have just taken the glove box lid and handed it to him. For those who enjoy all this that's great. Your car so is interesting because I'm not sure how you build it and $15,000, if I heard you correctly. I believe the asking price is 25k. Fine narration as well.

    Original cars---they are only original once and any idiot can change anything but original shows true maturity in the owner. Changing the car disrespects the designer and history of the era it was manufactured. Take all your mods to a car show and show up with a total original and watch which car gets the most attention.

    The guy standing next to the 1941 Willys is the guy from the T.V. show American Restoration - which was a spin-off of American Pickers and Counts Customs and
    Pawn Stars. It is reasonable that it was listed in Las Vegas - as Counts Customs and Pawn Stars were also filmed in Las Vegas. I forgot what his name was......

  • @TheREALOC1972
    @TheREALOC1972 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I prefer neither and both Restomods or Original depending on the condition of the project when it was started. Take my 73 Regal for instance, it was in amazing shape when I started on it and an original restoration was possible but I personally don't like hubcaps unless it's Moons or Baby Moons, so I'm building what I'm calling a "Pro Cruiser", I'm building it original mechanically minus the Smog pump and everything that sucks power off the motor but I'm changing the color of the car and the wheels, Yes I could find some original Buick Rallye Wheels but by the time I get them rechromed or buy a set of knock-offs they would be just as much if not more then if I just buy a set of custom wheels, but I am keeping the original hubcaps in case soone after me wants to take it back to stock. Building a C-Cab has always been on my bucketlist but I wanna do one that's different, I wanna build one out of a 60's or older Jeep CJ.

    • @Americanrodshop

      Good call John!

    • @urbanurchin5930
      @urbanurchin5930 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - this is my choice as well. Depends on the vehicle. Some cars that were known to have problems with certain components lend themselves well to resto-mod - in order
      to make them more functional / comfortable to drive. But some vehicles (like rare / low production numbers) should be left as original as possible. I saw a video recently, on
      a different channel, where the guy had a numbers matching "58 Chevy Wagon - all restored - with original 348 engine. It was VERY nicely restored - but some fool was saying,
      "put an LS in it - chop it all up - make it fast" ! If you want to do that...go to the junkyard, find one there, and build it from scratch. Some people just don't have common sense.

    Myself, being a older person and don't care to actually work on the vehicles, it would be easier for myself to have a original vehicle, just because I don't have to find serial numbers to figure out exactly what is in a resto mod

  • @paulr1305
    @paulr1305 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I prefer Original down to the last detail .
    There is a special place for them. Then there is a place for both though Original and resto mods . Original vintage cars keeps the history especially if all Original . Why would you want to ruin something from history and most often depresate the value by resto mods especially if it was a rare or numbers matching car or truck . If it was a complete basket case to start with and did not even have an original motor or transmission then maybe a well thought out resto mod car or truck could be a good choice to.make then. I really do prefer Original all the way

    • @chillaxin813
      @chillaxin813 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, you’d prolly hate me. I inherited a bone stock 40 ford convertible that was an older restoration but is in really good condition. I dropped the suspension with a set of Posies reverse eye springs and slightly staggered the tire size. Aluminum intake with a pair of Stromberg 97’s, chrome radiator hoses and chrome acorns. Headers, dual exhaust, glass packs. Still sporting the original 16 wheels, caps beauty rings and whitewalls. Otherwise still stock, but with a nice stance and the flatlhead sounds really cool. I like it the way it is, and wouldn’t change anything else. IMO the stock ride height really detracts from the overall beauty of the car.

    • @paulr1305
      @paulr1305 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well No I do not hate you for doing the updates you kept the flat head that is really cool and you made it into the vehicle that you wanted . Sometimes good to be all Original like in a numbers matching 1970 or 1971
      426 Hemi Cuda pistal grip 4 Speed and sometimes good to be modernized like in a very under powered 4 cylinder . After all the Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is the most important thing of all .
      Your car sounds very nice and it is probably done just right and not over done
