I think this is know as ilai vadam (ela vadam). My granny used to make this. She used banana leaves to make this instead of moodi. We never allow the ela vadam to dry since after you cook, the taste is so amazing more than a vadam :)

This is called elai vadam can be done by spreading the batter on banana leaf...fermenting the batter and adding chilles while grinding gives some variations...pl avoid using plastic moulds for heating
You can add anjwain also instead if u don't like Jeera. You can grind one or two green chillies(optional) along with the batter. After grinding if u keep it for four to five hours the taste will be yummy..

We can add lemon juice if we want to make immediately. This is called ilai vadam. It will be tasty to eat after steaming but before drying
