      One thing that's really helped me has been rocking. There's a TH-cam channel called original strength that discusses it. I've hurt my adductors and SI joint in the past doing heavy squats, but after rocking, I've not had any issues. Hope this helps! Also do dynamic stretching (legs swings, walking leg kicks, walking knee highs, etc.) before a workout and static stretching after.

    This is exactly th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

    Leg Press or Leg Sled that allows Foot Plate Angle and BackPad Angle adjustment... plus a hip hinge movement like Rack Pull type movement... along with Leg ext and Leg Curl and you can have awesome legs... no squats needed. The squat works my Posterior chain more because I have short torso and long femur. Barely works my quads.

    I found this one to be very applicable. I tried it and got the worst quad burn I've ever experienced. This is NOT for someone with a low pain threshold!

    Awesome videos and instructions Ryan! Would like to know whether would you encourage a single leg movement for the leg press for strength balancing or keep to both legs on the machine for stability? I've fractured my right ankle before, and ever since i've always had lesser flexibility in the right ankle. How would you do it if given my situation? Thanks in advance mate! Cheers!

    Hi Ryan, how is it possible that I can do more weight on the press than a squat. Also I find it difficult doing a bar squat compared to doing kettle bell or dumbbell squats?

    • @ivancarli1800
      @ivancarli1800 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think cause on a press every thing is fixed.. So you only have to concentrate all your power on the legs and glutes to press the thing.. On the squat you have to stabilize everything

      I would imagine everyone is stronger on leg press than squat.

    • @jackwebster6958
      @jackwebster6958 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many reasons, one not mentioned yet is you aren’t moving your own body weight in the leg press but are in the squat.

    What about hamstrings and lats when all you have is a squat rack, bench and some rage bands. These are two workouts I know I am wasting my time. 35 to 40 sets. Not sore. My hands get blown up but I can't seem to push burn into hams and lats.

    I do leg presses regularly, but there's an upper limit on reps for an odd reason: my knees heat up. I go slow and deliberate, but much more than 15 reps puts a fire in my knees. I'm also limited with foot placement - I have to stay fairly high or I get knee pain. That said, they still give me damn good all around leg pump and fatigue, including quads. I'm doing them 2nd on my trap-bar dead based workout right now, followed by leg extensions.
