the visuals are good because they aren't actually rendered they are still pictures. The hitboxes are invisible and they are put on the still pictures. that's why this game is timeless. it will never look bad.

In the original Japanese the attack is simply called Petit Fire, and it also wasn't given any official colour until the anime came along (which wasn't until after this game had already been completed). ;)
There are 4 digimon whose finishers have special abilities. They are: Monzaemon, Etemon, Digitamamon and Giromon. Monzaemon: His finisher releases a heart bubble which will follow the target no matter where he goes. Etemon: His finisher blows out tunes at the whole screen, making it hit all opponents in proximity. Imo this is the strongest finisher because it can kill 3 opponents with 1 finisher. Digitamamon: Releases a ghost which will attack whoever that moves, be it the opponent or the digitamamon itself. Giromon: Probably my most hated finisher because it plants a mine bomb at random spots which only incurs damage if the opponent moves to that area. However, if mine bomb is thrown at an inaccessible spot, this finisher is rendered useless.
There's also Drimogemon's It can hit twice, once for the big drill, and if the oponent recovers too fast, the small drills that fly afterwards will hit the enemy again

I love that finisher since my first battle with the Piximon on Tropical Jungle with my second rokie digimon when i was a kid. Since that day I was desperate to get a Piximon hahaha. Many years after when my first piximon died i cried a bit too.

You needed to have some battles prequesists for him was like 0 or less than 5 battles. Otherwise you'd always land monochromon or tyrannomon depending on your stats

I love Giromon because he's carrying a chainsaw and looked badass. But the finisher never actually works and it's really stupid, stupid enough to make it my favorite finisher above everything else.
......And yet to mention nothing of Seadramon, MegaSeadramon, or Coelamon. The way I see it, it's a liberty they had to take on order to let you be able to obtain those Digimon and have them be able to follow you around and fight in a game like this

A friend was fighting against digitamamon with a phoenixmon and he was out of recovery disks. When phoenixmon was 40 hp left, digitamamon hit himself with His finisher and was defeated. It was epic and funny :D

Zenn is right. No digimon can live longer than 360 hours (15 days) unless you feed him a digiseabass (+3 hours) or a chain melon (+20 hours). Evolution into vademon is only forced if you managed to keep your champion alive for his whole 360 hours lifespan, but after the 240 hour mark Vademon has 50% chance whenever you use praise or scold
