Sergio and Samir Bannout really are incredibly complete. I think that Lee Haney deserved a top spot too, I never thought his arms were lacking whatsoever, and his midsection was also great, the abs still looked very aesthetic even if they weren't perfectly symmetrical.
Phil 2011 is the least flawed bodybuilder. Every single muscle is developed to proportion and symmetry, even the forearms and calves. Conditioned and detailed head to toe, front to back. Although his clavicle is narrow, so are his hips which does not compromise his flow. Many guys would rather a narrow clavicle than having shit legs, a wide waist, no arms, short insertions, etc.

No I disagree but Sergio was incredible. Early Ronnie, Lee Haney we’re up there. I wish Sergio showed up about 15 years later so we could see how great he was compared to some modern bodybuilders
Maybe he won this little MMM competition because he got out of BB before he got injured or started to fall apart. He could have worked himself to death against Lee Haney, but that might have ruined his phisique.
I think Lee Haney had the most flawless physique. I don't know what you're talking about in regards to his abs and biceps. They may not be stand out features but they most certainly aren't flawed. Sergio's forearms are so big they throw off his symmetry and Banout's waist is too wide.
He was great. There's a pic of him on the cover of IronMan magazine holding a sword in front of him, clasped in both hands. The combination of muscle, conditioning, symmetry and proporation is incredible. Not the biggest but definitely one of the best of all time.
Sergio had so much mass that at times I think it made him lack separation. The picture at 13:00 illustrates what I am talking about. Part of it could also be his conditioning as well.
Was in Columbus during 2 Olympia's.(seated in row behind judges) Samir ,Frank Zane,Eric D, Robby, Franco. All certainly took their genetic potential to the max. That's what bodybuilding is. From my view the overall power that Franco possessed ,witness his strongman feats, dueling with world's strongest man competition etc. was reverred at that time. It showed. But perfection of each body part in balance ( which Arnold strove for) would certainly add a few non winning Olympia artists. Who joins that list? 1. Robby 2.Mentzer 3.????? Great presentation Max!
Frank Zane has some big flaws, the dude has short limbs, his arms and legs are rly short for his torso, its one of the most disporpotional bodybuilders ever
This is probably the greatest video I've ever seen you do. I was with you until Frank Zane who I think has one of the better physiques of all time. Then you hit me with Sergio and okay I get that he was so full muscle belly that was unbelievable. And then you surprised the hell out of me because I agree with you samir bonneau. Samir is one of the guys who changed bodybuilding forever because his conditioning was something we had never seen before and his back was ridiculous and he had little glute striations like Frank Zane also did. He had crazy quads from the front also he really was one of the better at not having flaws in his structure. Great video of Mark's Max muscle
Love Zane. I think I love Haney even more. And I know this sounds cliche at this point, but Arnold in his prime... There was something about those chest and arms that inspired awe. He's my pick.
I had to remind myself that these are only Mr Olympia winners. My Mt Rushmore of all bodybuilders would be Shawn Ray, Lee Labrada, Bob Paris and Francis Benfatto
i know you're talking winners, but Padilla in 81 comes to mind first. Also, as someone else mentioned, Flex in 93. Sergio 72 in Essen. For winners, Ronnie in 98/99 comes to mind - Calves and mid-section notwithstanding. Samir is a great pick.
id have to agree with the creators assessment. Im 64 and have involved with bodybuilding since 74 meeting many top pro's my first show in 1977 watching mentzer win the mr north america 6 rows back center stage. he looked great too, bit of a distended gut, but that was a genetic attribute
This video doesnt state clearly what "flawed" refers to(beginner move) but as the video goes on its clear it refers only to the muscles themselves, not also to the skeletal proportions, that for example makes a waist large/small and also shoulders narrow/wide. Samir had very short torso(almost to the point where he looks handicapped) and weak triceps.
Most flawless: Its hard to argue Zane. I'd also add Samir at his best(perhaps slightly better hamstrings but that is nitpicking) and Sergio(regardless of level of conditioning). Kudos for Danny Padilla even though he never won.
1998 Ronnie was pretty ridiculous. The mix of size shape and shreddz is next level to everyone else. You should have shown some of his better 98 pics. 03 doesnt' look flawless, it's just clear when you stand him next to others that the mass+shape+detail is too much for anyone. Samir has always been my favorite of the 1 or 2 time winners as I really like his physique I'm glad it got the recognition it deserves here. Phil looks nearly perfect standing alone, it's only when you put him next to others that his bone structure issues shine through. Dex in 2008 doesn't really have any flaws other than his height and overall size. Lee Haney has got to be up there. He is very complete for his era and unlike Samir, Heath or Dex, he even looks better next to others. Ronnie and Haney actually have similar structures. Coleman just has better limbs and is more detailed. Shawn Rhoden just needed a bigger back

sergio's lack of peaky biceps i suppose can be considered a flaw if you really nitpick. Sammir may not have Sergio's shape but he is really lacking nothing in particular.
Honestly, this answer is actually really straight-forwardly Samson. Samson is the least flawed champion ever. It's one of the reasons Samson won - he has no real weaknesses. He also doesn't have any really outstanding parts. Interestingly, the latter statement itself ~makes the case~ that Samson has the least flaws or weaknesses. How else could Samson have possibly won without having multiple standout, top-tier body parts (e.g., Hadi: world's best core/torso heap and insane legs, Derek: insane GOAT back and the most striated glutes on the planet, Ramy: most muscular and developed legs of all time, massive back width for the lat spreads, etc.). Samson's biggest weaknesses are the small vertical gap between his abs and his inability to get striated glutes. This is a smaller weakness than any other winner. Samir has tiny golf-ball shoulders, skinny stick legs, etc. These are BIG issues. Samson's are very small by comparison.
Bannout is a good pic. Zane, Heath and Rhoden were pretty much flawless too. Oliva was near impeccable but for those flat biceps and poor lats from the back. Arnie's delts, triceps and overall thighs were undersized from certain angles, and his v-taper wasn't great. For a week I'd like to walk around in Oliva's or Arnie's body. For life, in Zane's. Overall, Arnie edges out Oliva for my favorite physique of all time. Big Ramy is the worst Mr O physique ever, I think. I don't like the manlet look of Choopan or Lunsford, either.
My pick is Shawn Rhoden. I don't think he is the best in any area (other than ABS) but his body was extremely proportional, and thuus IMO having no weaknesses.
Sergio had high lats which imho is a serious flaw and bad enough that it gave Arnold the edge over him. Samir's flaw is that he was so short. Zane's flaw is that he was scrawny and won because of politics and the weakest field in bodybuilding history. 1992 Dorian had the least amount of flaws. This was before his midsection blew up, he became out of proportion and injuries mounted. He was pretty damn spectacular in 1992
Marx I think you are kind of a screwball but having said that Samir was who I was thinking of from the beginning. I am 75 so I have been lifting weights since June of 1963 and had a subscription to Muscular Development since 1965. They didn't win the Mr. Olympia but three bodybuilders stand out as flawless. Jim Haislop, Bob Paris, and Steve Reeves.
Would be interesting if you did this with all athletes not just Olympia winners, Flex Wheeler comes to mind
I wrote my jokey comment above before reading your comment - totally agree!
Well, Flex had narrow clavicles, un-symmetrical abs, oily arms, weaker and softer back compared to the front, weak hams
