This year in my teaching studio, I've been exploring how to engage my students emotionally in their playing while simultaneously helping them master the fundamentals of rhythm, key signatures, note reading, and producing a beautiful, supported sound. These foundational skills are essential for tackling more sophisticated music in the future. I often wonder how many people gave up learning an instrument because their lessons lacked inspiration and excitement.
In 'Mythic Flute Mastery,' I'm incorporating cinematic styles and storytelling to present archetypal themes that make blockbuster movies so captivating. I thought, why not apply the same approach to learning the flute?
While technology is rapidly transforming our world and the way education is delivered, it's crucial to maintain the hands-on, diligent approach that keeps our minds and bodies sharp. However, technology can certainly add a layer of fun and engagement along the way!
