    "The Chairman of the Groove, The Sheriff of Manchester, Mr Bernard Sumner"!! I love Brandon even more than I previously did, for the massive respect that he showed toward the lead singer of my all-time favourite band!!

    Brilliant . Thanks for posting and good quality video too. Brandon has always said he's been influenced by new order. I feel sad for those posting negative comments about this choice of song. BLT is a classic.

      Yep, Brandon has AMAZING taste in music, especially considering his youth compared to the average age of fans of such bands as New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode & many others...

    0:55 - My dad dancing at a wedding

    • @lavielemond
      @lavielemond 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Haha!! And 'Barney' has ALWAYS danced like that..well, since he began to dance, which I fist saw at Reading in '98, after they'd not played live for years & it's more of a pisstake dance than anything, really! Certainly no Dave Gahan on the stage but he's still the lead singer of my all-time favourite band & never even wanted to be a lead singer until he was forced into the job after Ian Curtis (RIP) necked himself on 18th May, 1980 - the day before they were scheduled to tour the States. And Ian certainly had his own, VERY unique style of dancing!!

    In the nicest way possible, at least 75% of the crowd was confused and didn't want this. This was part of our encore lol, they could have fit in another Killers song instead of this. We were in the seated area, and we had all stood up and were dancing for the song before, but most of us sat down for this bit, and then stood up again after it finished. Kind of a vibe killer. :(
    I love the Killers so much, but I get the feeling they aren't great judges of public opinion. Juanita Stein's bit was a bit of a washout, barely half the seats were full for her, considering she was the support act, and they pulled out this guy, who's now pretty obscure and not really in the public eye anymore, to sing with them. Bit baffling really. :S

      Madeleine PH New Order born out of the dissolution of Joy Division, was/is one of the bands that heavily influenced the killers. Mark has played with them in the past. In terms of the killers finger on public sentiment i would say the fact that they are still around after 15 years speaks for itself.

      Christian Noel As I said, no dig against the Killers, because I love them and I always have, but I don't think the 15 years bit does speak for itself, to be honest. Their music is great, but who they pick to support them, not so much. Both this guy and Juanita Stein left the crowd scratching their heads in confusion, total vibe change and both not even nearly as popular as the Killers themselves. I get that your support act shouldn't be more famous than you, but even still, being recognisable to a certain extent should be in the criteria. Even if the influence was there, the style of music just wasn't similar enough to make it flow, it was everyone's "check their phone" slot, which is unfortunate considering they brought this guy in on the encore.

      Completely agree Madeleine , It was a strange change! but it lead on to a great version of Brightside!!

      The Killers are not Fall Out Boy, they don't base every career move on trying to win a popularity contest.
      The Killers band name comes from a New Order music video. New Order are one of the band's biggest influences. And as others have said, New Order was originally Joy Division which is rock history. Barney is an absolute legend.

      It's not about a popularity contest at all, but they could have had them anywhere in the gig. When we saw this guy come out, it was part of an encore. We wanted more Killers songs, and with a limited amount of time left, they chose to give up a portion of time to this guy. It's not bad, just confusing. The build-up was so immense, the crowd was so excited, and then... this guy showed up. About half the crowd seemed to know who he was and was excited, but the other half just reclined.
      A nod to them is fine, and almost necessary given the band name, but it didn't have to be during a gig, and if it did, it didn't have to be as one of the final acts, that's all. It was just a weird change of pace.
