    I was watching this half waiting for that moment and feeling a little uneasy. It's easy with a Feather! 😕 I've caught myself a few times. It always hurts 😃 I enjoyed the shave.

    Mr. G. I've done that exact same thing myself, twice. Touching that blade to the face with any sort of angle on it will make that line every time. Those AC razors give no quarter at all. That one will take a little time to heal. I cut myself like that a few years ago and the mark remained for a month or so. I got myself with a straight like that last week but it was with a light touch so it's just a small one:) Don't be discouraged my friend.

    • @MrGShave
      @MrGShave  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got a tad annoyed with myself lol. I cut myself quite badly last time and now I have done it again lol. I will persevere with it but for a while I will stick to DE's

    • @IAMCDB

      @@MrGShave It can be discouraging, I know. I got myself slightly the other day and was annoyed at myself. That said, the only way to prevail is to become better at it and not let the cut win. I'd give that one some time to heal though. There will be a line there for a while. I know from experience:)

      I will give it another go, that is for sure, however I may well get myself some pro guard blades for the next attempt. The annoying thing is that I shaved for a few months with the artist ss and got quite proficient with it. Then it bit me about 6 weeks ago and again now. Just goes to show. Never get too comfortable with a shavette or a straight lol.

    Contrary to some other comments, I think you are coming along well with the Feather, and only practice will produce improvement. It's best to use slow sweeping, smooth strokes. Also, if you allow the razor to move left or right compared to the orientation of the blade itself, cuts result. I've made that mistake all too often. Usually it happens when I get in a hurry or take my I off the ball.. That Feather shavette is really good, and I enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting!

      Hi 👋. Thanks for your comment 👍 As you say, I think I have improved since posting this video🙂 I now have a series of straight razor shaves that you can view not only using the Feather AC, but many other vintage straight razors to👍

    Well done for trying it. I have a CJB kamisori but have been too scared to use it. I do have some Feather AC Supers for use in my Hawk SE v3, which are a lot less aggressive than in your Feather. Best of luck with your continued practice.

      Thankyou so much for subscribing. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Flash is an amazing fella🙂, I really enjoy watching his videos. He must be the only shaving channel that does not video his shaves and yet still maintains and grows his subscriber base lol. I am pretty new to running a shaving channel. As you will have no doubt gathered, I only started in January of this year. I have really enjoyed the experience so far, especially the interaction with other shavers👍

    Hi Mr G, done very well with the AC. With your across the grain pass. I suggest checking out Dave Card's channel he demonstrates nicely. As he said to me pause when lining up and try and glide across whilst using multiple stretches and pause without lifting the blade off. I made the same mistakes and Dave Card was kind enough to advise me and it has improved my technique.
    Kind regards Gordon😌👍

    • @gordonchristie246
      @gordonchristie246 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also recommend check out Frank Strömberg, Matti Lindholm and shave and butcher all these guys have techniques that are good and we have to try and see what works best for us as everyone is different but with all these guys there's points of their technique that we can learn from. With Matti the shallowness of his angle really allows him to manipulate the blade to what looks an effortless shave Frank and Dave Card are technical and there shaves demonstrates best skin stretching and different passes and abilities to get difficult areas Johan Shave and Butcher has a good solid process and is helpful in seeing how to shave neck.
      Sorry for gibbering on.
      I hope that this is helpful.
      Kind regards Gordon.

    Starting with the shavette and end up with the DE is a fail.
    The super pro is not forgiving, of requires long practice.
    See your antiseptic stick wasn't helping to stop your blood. Should this happen again, just take your brush and reapply some lather, no need to use an antiseptic stick if your shaving soap contains all the ingredients to do the job

    By the secondpass of this video i was able to lay in bed for 3 minutes go put my contacts in and then build a lather and do a 2 pass shave with my shavette lol amazing how fast one gets when u know what ur doing with a shavette lol my first time with a shavette was 10 minutes for a pass

      @@AverageReviewsYT I haven't left it. I am just taking my time lol. I will try again with the shavette but I have decided that straights are not going to be part of my shaving routine for now. Buying a decent straight is quite an investment with all the paraphernalia that goes with it such as strops, stones etc It is a whole different world of shaving in my opinion.

  • @rsolsjo
    @rsolsjo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To me those are the worst cuts. You're just a little nervous and for some reason, without even actually shaving, you just tap your face with the razor. It's plenty enough, you get a nice thin little scar for a while.
