I am from Mexico and I have lived in the US for many years where I've met Native Americans from many tribes. I am now married to a Russian Lady and had several Russian and Ukrainian girlfriends and, like I said, they do NOT resemble Native Americans AT ALL! Their roots are quite different. I must make a self-correction. When I wrote the previous paragraph, I was talking about Russians from the WEST. As you know, Russia is a huge country and the people in Eastern Russia do indeed look quite different; mainly because they have Mongolian (and others) ancestry. Therefore they would look somewhat similar to Native Americans. In that aspect, it would be right, but the Folk dances in here are from the Western region of Russia. One last thing, a lot of Western Russians moved with the occupying Soviet Union to Eastern Russia and now you will find a lot of them in this region. Ina similar manner Russians also moved into many other countries and formed Russian neighborhoods in those countries. For instance, my wife's ancestors moved to Armenia, but they are not Armenians, they still speak and have Russian customs and nowadays many have moved back to Russia or the US.
