This is the perfect example of Queen live. They didn't just sing songs they put on a show with musical special effects and audience participation. Most songs were performed differently to the recorded version. Even Queen fans never knew quite what to expect next from the band.
Always love to watch people's faces when they first react to this song! Naughty Freddie at his best. Remember that Jimi Hendrix was Freddie, Roger and Brian's hero and they went to see him over and over when he toured England. Psychedelic guitar interludes were a thing at one time in the 60s/70s. This song is a vibe and a mood!
When I first heard this at 12, I had no clue about the lyrics and what they meant but I just looked at it as something futuristic. We'd put the Live Killer LP on and turn lights off and just imagined we were at that concert... Pure innocence... Face value appreciation... No synths!
My how the English language has changed! Those of us who were young and weren't in "the know" didn't quite understand the lyrics, but we got the meaning! My happiest moments were cruising down Main Street with friends singing the chorus at the top of our voices! This song was so huge in my area! Love it! It was like nothing I had heard before!
LOL!! Again I was smiling ear to ear just waiting for those lyrics to start and your facial reaction did not disappoint! The lyrics, the sounds / smoke, the amazing lighting rig changing color and height. A song not every Queen fan likes, I however; LOVE IT! gotta be naughty once in awhile. 😆
I would like to thank the person who sent you that great book on Queen Hap! You have taken your show to another level- it is awesome to hear the facts and ideas behind the lyrics! Thank you fo r taking the time to share it with us!💛
Great reaction!!! The middle section of the studio version of the song is comprised of heavy breathing, moaning, etc. I guess they had to make it PG rated for concerts. It’s definitely a unique song.
My air conditioning is on full POWER when I saw that you were reacting to this song!! OMG!! Sexy & sassy from all members of Queen. Brian’s guitar sounds, Deacy’s Amp, & Freddie’s vocals bring it to a climax (literally). I love this song & now I need a Big Gulp!! Those in America know exactly what I’m talking about!! Awesome reaction!! 👑💗👑💗🎉
Con Freddie c’è sempre qualcosa di nuovo “ never boring “ è il suo motto 👏👏👏 bella reazione Hap 😘 Di Montreal 81 e’ bella la versione di Love of my life. Se un giorno vorrai ascoltarla sarà un piacere 💖🤩🌹🌹🌹
I was 13 years old when a friend of mine at the time bought "News of the World" and both of us listened to if from the first track to the last. When this song came both our jaws dropped. He said this song was so unusual for Queen. This album was my introduction to Queen.
Thats BRIAN MAY showing off with the Red Special and how he can make whale sounds with it. ROGER and FREDDIE blowing whistles. I think that it is very cool. Yeah the lyrics that FREDDIE does is alittle rated R. I like this song though. Great reaction HAP. Thank you I get to cross off another song on your list. Take care and have a good evening. Your girl, QUEEN BEE.
THAT' WAS FANTASTIC !! TALK ABOUT MOOD MUSIC, A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE WITH THE LYRICS, STILL EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 TOTALLY ENJOYED!! FANTASTIC REACTION!! 💜👑🎶🎶 HAP, THANK YOU!!
When I heard these words at 12 or 13 , I had no clue what they meant.... Just the futuristic , ethereal sound produced by this legendary track! My prefered version is Live Killers version.
Hi hap this is a brilliant performance as I said to you before you should really go back and watch this Montreal concert with brian and rodger commentary it's fantastic as it goes through each song brian and Rodger tell you exactly what was going on at the time and gives a little talk on each song , it's a very enjoyable listen i highly recommend it if you love the Montreal concert , stay safe friend ❤
Thanks for this one, Hap! Interesting because Freddie usually wrote obscure lyrics but this one is the opposite of obscure. Lol. The chorus is quite catchy and i love the way he finishes it off. In my opinion, another Freddie masterpiece. Great reaction as always. Thanks.
Great song, and great reaction. Love this one, and the studio version has some "sound extras" 🔥🔥🔥that had to be "taken off" in the live gigs😎 And react to the official video, is muchhhh fun 😂😎🔥🔥🔥
Hmmm, I wonder what is this song about...🤭 The kind "I need a cold shower" song! 😊 It obviously came when Freddie's hedonistic phase in life already started..Still, very energetic performance! If you don't mind more blushing, you could check "Body language" (Official video) too..
Great reaction as always 👍❤️ I love each instrument got spot lights and presented beautifully. Love watching their live performances 💕 I loved John's moves too.
Even though "Hot Space" is remembered as the musical experimetation album...well what brought into that album was inside "The Game" album (1980), from where this song belong. I love its particular sound!
Wow 😮 Very different song indeed! But again, Queen brings that mysterious & unique vibe which I love ❤️ Ur reaction’s so true & I enjoyed the song with u. (What’s gonna happen next?) Thank u Hap 🎶🎧🎶
One of my favorite reactors of Queen😊I like your reaction especially when u read book about the song it's so informative for me as a new fan of Queen. May i know what book was that Mr. Hap, I'll try to find it here in my country. Thanks. Great reaction
Great stuff The instruments & voices often tun off one another for me, especially the ‘red special’ as an extension of Freddie’s voice/instrument thanks brother
Heyup Fella, it's easy to see where the inspiration for "It's a kinda magic" intro came from.............."Body Language" also sounds unlike Queen but has a catchy bass riff.................any more unboxings due?
heyya, yes I will be doing an unboxing in the near future. I am grateful for everything and appreciate the gesture. Glad you enjoy them too. :) Body Language is a song that has also been bought up a few times. Let`s see.
i the commentary Roger and Brian did for this song Brian said they invented a device which feeds the guitar through the harmoniser a number of times and he controlled the pitch with the pedal he said he had it specially made
Always attracted to the drums, I, of course, am fascinated by the drumming in this song. They are SO different, unpredictable, with an odd rhythm and sound. The hi hats have a very quintessential “Roger” sucking reverse hi hat sound. Both Roger’s and Freddie’s vocals are gruff and raw. Love it. I actually dislike the guitar weirdness in the middle, though. Live and on the album. It’s a nails on a chalkboard sound that hurts my ears. Is usually fast forward past it.
It sounded like the clangers were making out at one stage lol (showing my age with that!!) .. it was not as intense as one performance I saw anyway very different. The lyrics were unequivocal ... it was exactly what it said on the tin (not sure “love” was the main objective!)
Thank you for the belly laugh about 4 minutes in :) Maybe title makes a bit more sense now? LOL! Song is a little weird I have to admit but some of it isn't bad..... This must be a deep deep cut?
Well, "interlude" is a safe tidy way to describe what we heard...I think. The chorus sticks with me but the raw lyrics make me squirm (although he looks so darn good and focused - this is important to him). Clearly Freddie and John connect with this club infused piece...Brian making the best of it in the way he alone knows how and I think Roger is hiding behind his drums just a bit, closing the gap musically.
This is the perfect example of Queen live. They didn't just sing songs they put on a show with musical special effects and audience participation. Most songs were performed differently to the recorded version. Even Queen fans never knew quite what to expect next from the band.
Iconic, legendary, perfect
Okay, I could not have been the only one cracking up as you started hearing the lyrics. I got a couple of "What's so funny" at my house. LOL
The middle section is the 'orgasm'!! Listen to the Queen at the Beeb or Queen on air version to really appreciate this one!

Thanks for the info! - LOL "sounds" like the studio version make be on the agenda then.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ Definitely!!
@@HAP3SPEAKZ And the official lyric version has all the moaning and such too.
One of my favorites
Insane amazing song!!!
LOVE John's constant bass line.
The official videos for this song and Body Language are an absolute must! Freddie feeling his oats. Lol

oh dear ! music can have quite the impact (literally). :D D
Ohhhhh yes, sexy song, sexy Freddie 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Orgasmic! Lol
Hahaha so true
🤣 Debra, you crack me up! #truth
I think it is important to remember this song is from 1978's News of the World album. Sounds ahead of its time. NOTW is overall my favorite album.
Freddie was all about shock value..And this Song proves it!! 🎧😎
‘Body Language’ is another hot number! Freddie lets us go through another heated song!🤣

@@HAP3SPEAKZ Ok I will be glad too. I can keep making request on the songs that you havent covered yet. If you would like that.
I love the funky bassline at the beginning
Love the look on your face as the lyrics began, haha
Brian giving his guitar a good technological workout. Astrophysics through music.

yeah - I think (as much as I want to avoid that) it will have to be done at some point in time.
😂 Oh your expression as that penny dropped...... priceless! Great reaction.
I always think of this as Queens answer to Led Zeppelin's Whole Lot of Love.
Great song, and great reaction.

No synthezises🎉
I do love these 70s songs that were just outright celebrations of sex. We never really did see that trend again.
if you want to follow along the same subject react to: BODY LANGUAGE, video (the other 3 don't seem to happy in the video)

Posted a like for your reaction/analysis. Im a Queen Fan, but don’t really care for this song. The Instrumental parts are good though.
