    I've just purchased two PWC lifts with DL1200A winches. One works great, the other slips it's hold quite a bit. Would love to see how to repair that. Thanks.

      Hans- thanks for your question, but, no- we do not make any winches in stainless steel. Visit Endurance Marine's website (www.shop-endurance-marine.com/stainless-steel-hand-winch) for a handful of stainless steel winch options.

    Will you ever offer winches with Bi-directional Backstop clutches? This would make them run smoother and hold the load no matter which way the cable is spooled.

    Are there any winches that can be used with a hand drill instead of a cranking handle?

    • @DuttonLainson
      @DuttonLainson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question, Jay! All of our DLB-series brake winches can be operated with a drill instead of cranking a handle if you install the square tube hub from the 6453 (www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=14467) or the 6454 (www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=14468) handle kits on the drive shaft. You then use the 6456 drill drive socket (www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=14466) on your drill to operate the winch. Photos of this setup are shown on the 6456 product page.

    what material is the break pads made from? Seems like they will ware out and need replacement like happens on cars

    • @DuttonLainson
      @DuttonLainson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brake pads found in Dutton-Lainson brake winches are a rigid molded non-asbestos metallic material. With time and use of the winch, they may need to be replaced. You can watch a video on how to replace the brake pads on DLB-series brake winches here: th-cam.com/video/igPJSxG86XI/w-d-xo.html, and a video on how to replace the brake pads on B-series brake winches here: th-cam.com/video/lZNHDdsDrI4/w-d-xo.html

      Thanks for your question! The brake winch we offer that is closest to the kg capacity you listed is the DLB800A, which has a capacity of 363 kg. You can learn more about it and purchase it directly from us on our website here: www.dutton-lainson.com/proddetail.php?prod=14914. However, please keep in mind that we are currently seeing 12-16 week lead times before winches ship to customers.

    What is the maximum length of cable on a 2500 lbs and 2000lbs?

    • @DuttonLainson
      @DuttonLainson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question! We do not offer a brake winch with a 2,000 lb. weight capacity, but we offer two options with a 2,500 lb. capacity- the DLB2500A and the B2500. On the DLB2500A, you can install up to 50' of 1/4" cable, up to 42' of 9/32" cable, up to 34' of 5/16" cable, or up to 28' of 11/32" cable. On the B2500, you can install up to 76' of 1/4" cable, up to 64' of 9/32" cable, up to 51' of 5/16" cable, or up to 42' of 11/32" cable.

      Dutton-Lainson Company thanks I also have a dl2000a pulling winch. I should’ve specified. But I bought 100’ of 1/4” cable. With the thought of cutting it in half and using 50’ for each winch. I think it will work out.

      @@mountainmama5049 Thanks for the clarification! You can fit up to 70' of 1/4" cable on your DL2000A.

    2:52 sound is so nasty and loud. There are silent variants these days (I know two manufacturers of silent (they call it noiseless) variants). Do you have silent winches, too? (video about such ones would be interesting).

    • @DuttonLainson
      @DuttonLainson  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your question, but no- none of our winches operate silently or noiselessly. The clicking noise that is produced as the ratchet pawl engages with the gears is one of the easiest and surest ways to know the winch is functioning properly.

    • @arekx
      @arekx 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DuttonLainson Thanks for fast answer. Some context for this. There are cases where this sound is very problematic - for example theaters or nighttime at garden and neighbors (the second one is my real scenario to why I'm looking for mostly silent unit).
      My winch is mounted on the metal frame, so the whole thing resonates, amplifying the knocking sound.
      I guess the sound could still be there but at really minimal level.
      I've tried making my winch more silent. By adding ~0.6mm thick rubber at ratchet pawl face that hits gear (and only there). It did silence it a lot but gear tooth depth in my unit (from other manufacturer) is too small to make me feel comfortable and secure with this added rubber mod (so I abandoned it).
      I see that some Japanese winch manufacturer has complicated magnet based solution to this (where ratchet pawl doesn't touch the gear at all when winding up).
