Thank-you for sharing your vacation/pen trip ot Italy. It is extremely enjoyable. My wife and I had been to many of these sites and brought back fond memories ! I can't wait for Part 3!!
I do not own a Ranga pen, yet. There are so many pens I would like and it is on my list to get one of them. This model is very nice and worthy of consideration. Thank you for the review, Vincenzo. I recently purchased a Platinum President. I found out the model has been discontinued. I think it is the only pen made with a #6 nib and is equatable in size to a Montblanc 146. The Ranga will have to wait.
A nice review of a nice looking pen, Vincenzo. Yes, there are the resin & metal pens, and those in Ebonite, but they are also now making pens in PEEK. I don't really care for the resin pens, but do prefer the Ebonite. The Model 3 is a nice sized pen, but after seeing the model 4S with the flat ends I'm planing on getting one in a future purchase most likely in Ebonite or I may get it in PEEK. I've got the Chrome Steel FPR Ultra Flex, I just need to install it in the V200.
It is good to see Ultem being used by more manufacturers and the price point going down as it is a really resilient material. It will be great to see them enter the schools pen market. Now you can go and read all those letters from Ranga! 🤣🤣🤣
Hello Mr.V! While the ultem material is not that fascinating for me, the pen itself is quite nice! If they could make the whole pen look like the finial on the cap, I would like ultem more. Might check out the same pen in ebonite. Thanks for sharing with us!!
Love Ranga! I just ordered a Little Abhimanyu on a group buy. Looks like a nifty little pen. Going to try a Ranga nib with ebonite feed(with India Post free shipping). Probably get it in late December - lol!
I found that too Vincenzo. I have a ton of FPR ultra flex and indeed the monotone chrome flexes a bit easier/softer than the dual tone. However these nibs are so flexible and soft, for everyday writing, I actually prefer the dual tone, as I can still flex it a lot easily if I want but is a fraction stiffer than the all chrome for everyday writing. I am actually going to test their regular flex ones (doesn't have the cutouts/wings but still flex the same amount if pushed) to test as an everyday writer. They are amazing nibs though. Highly recommend to anyone as you have alluded to. ShakMD also found that they can fit into the Natami Warship/spaceship (30.00) with their standard feed which is even cheaper than getting the FPR bock nib + Asvine200 ($100+ depending on where you are...amazing pen, I've made 4 of them😂)
So if I understand correctly if I ordered the nib with a ebonite feed or a plastic feed it costs me 23 or $24 Canadian where as if I ordered the same nib and same feed in either a bock or JoWo unit it costs me $81. Now I know what to do.
@@fountainpentherapy well the additional coast for the bock unit is the fact that Flexible nib factory is custom making the ebonite feeds for this units in particular (they are a bit different than the standard ebonite). So that's the additional money. But Shak's new hack with the Natami warship pen is a better option and it's really wet with the standard plastic feed it comes with. Shak's always finding good stuff like that
175 bucks (US) for a high heat resistant Polymer based fountain pen. Close to a Maiora Ogiva or other fine italian writing instruments. Your review is well done, as usual, but it doesn't convince me, because in general I'm not fond of Indian made pens, very reluctant after 2, more than negative surprises in quality. I have to admit, that the (FPR) Ranga Madras (which is based on the Ranga Splendour model), bought 2 years ago at USD 86 with a FPR Flex steel F nib is a good reliable pen and a positive example of Indian made pens. The FPR "F" flex nib creates more "EF" lines and as long as I don't force too much for its flexing abilities, it gives clear extra fine lines. It tends immediately to railroading when flexing. I guess that the FPR plastic feed and the very low quality FPR converter (not the high quality Schmidt converters coming with pens directly from Ranga) are the reasons for a low flexing experience. But the normal writing experience is excellent. In my book Indian made pens are all much too expensive comparing chinese and indian price levels and quality aspects. Ranga can be considered as more moderate among all the elder and newer Indian manufacturers.. Just my 2 cents...., based on completely subjective preferences, experiences and price/performance ratios.
Here is the link to purchase the pen I will add it to my description docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdl4fo81ZFbNBBOJYkaWa_x0jrix4sJvvYZTo-xtbzCYZkKqQ/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0
Don’t have a Ranga, this one will change that - hopefully. I have been to their website many time intending to buy an ebonite pen only to become overwhelms, confused, and ultimately frustrated at how to order a given pen that tI had chosen from their picture. Hopefully this pen will be more straight forward.
Hand made, good quality, great nib smooth writing, durable body of ultem material and with that price!
It is an excellent deal.

I have been dithering about a Ultem pen for a while, having quite a few Ranga pens I decided having watched your review to plunge for this one.

They are actually not bad, but it’s a great little company and I always appreciate how I receive my packages with that homestyle packing process
I have never heard of this pen thank you so much
You’re welcome
