He feels like old figure to me because it's not a g1 or evergreen, and he is bulky and looks like very solid. Plus his yellowish color makes him look old
I wouldn't say it makes him look "old" but rather "older", than Orion Pax. And I assume that it could be a decision made to make him look older than at the start of the movie.

I love how Hasbro couldn't fix the yellowing so they just started making characters who had the yellow in their design. 🤣🤣🤣

Remember, this is his first time being a transformer. So some of his robot parts will be exposed.
I didn't warm up to this at first, but now it looks cool.
For a deluxe this guy looks incredible

it's so oddly satisfying
one of the few cases where I do forgive the hot-rod shoulders cause of the transformation.
Siege Optimus was always my favorite flat-nosed Cybertronian Optimus Prime, but he always felt a bit too Earth-like. I'm thinking this might replace him. The smaller size and the more alien appearance just scratch that itch. I can't wait to see all the others, like Bumblebee, who looks to be similar to but also better than the 2018 live action design.

The only issue I see myself having with this, is the fact that his arms are totally exposed. But as Peaugh pointed out to me, the hands can still hold weapons. So I guess they can be _sorta_ hidden? I might have to see how they look bent up w/ weapons in them, see if that looks any better. It won't prevent me from getting this, of course, not by any means, it's just a minor nitpick.
I really love the texture of the matrix in this one. Although, I wonder if it’s compatible with the Volvo Optimus Prime.

There are few things as zen as taking sitting down and tightening the joints of your transformers for an hour.
Deluxe Class seems to be just such a very fitting class for Optimus for the most part
I wish the gray was a lil more like the mainline. That said, the only issue I have with the transformation is the shoulders sticking out so far on the front. The rest of it looks pretty good as a truck, it all blends together shockingly well considering how in the open the arms are.
Good review, think I'll grab this at some point.

Good video! This guy and the mainline toy are the same price here, and I don't have a preference for the shade of gray, so I'm definitely going for this Studio Series one. Although I do appreciate the mainline Optimus hides away the hands
Pretty decent deluxe figure overall. Reminds me quite a bit of the Cybertronian mode Animated Prime.
I thought you would say something about gaps in vehicle mode. He reminds me of Deluxe Prime from Classics line. But robot mode is nice.

May I ask, how would you go about fixing that loose thigh swivel and some of the other issues on this figure like the hands not tabbing in the alt mod and the head sometimes falling in the cavity?
I know typically a certain kind of floor polish is used for loose joints, it flows into the joint well and it's a lot harder to mess up compared to super glue. And usually if tolerances are too tight on things like pegs and tabs (like with the Wfc grapple having pegs that broke off because they were way too long for example), you can get sandpaper or even just a knife and sand down or shave the peg in order to give it better tolerance, but everything is kind of a case by case basis.

I really like this Optimus/Orion design, it looks really cool! I want him so badly! Everything abt him is great! I do think the "diaper' could've been separated into 3 pieces that can all come up, but you could leave the middle piece down, while lifting the sidebits up to accommodate the legs. Maybe all 3 pieces could peg together for transformation. But, besides that, hes abso-freakin'-lutely awesome!
I'm also really excited for the movie! 'Til all are ONE!

Got one ended up returning it. Felt more like a main line and not a studio series. Was kinda disappointing. Then seeing the leader class it was a definite return. I may get one if it goes on sale but idk.

He definitely feels like an old school deluxe and I mean that in a good way, if I end up really liking the movie I would definitely get him.

Just got mine today in the mail. Thank god I was able to buy him before cmdstore sold out. Was a little disappointed at first, but the figure is growing on me. And when we get the movie, will definitely be more hyped about this figure. Also wish the waste flap was pinned

Honestly I’m might pick two of these 1 for the actual figure and the other for a custom splendid convoy cause this is about the size I feel she should be( splendid convoy is female for anyone who doesn’t know that character)between the size of a voyager and a deluxe kinda in the same size of override from the velocitron line

I think this is not the first time that a vehicle mode has a dedicated weapon, for example the Galvatron SS has the missiles to recreate the road scene.

The bot mode looks fine, but the truck mode looks awful. Weirdly bulgey on the bottom, no wheels, it's just a lump that goes halfway between Cybertron style and Earth style and doesn't do either well.
Well it's his first altmode, so it's like a larval stage

Good design, but the pre-yellowed plastic looks weird. If it was more gray/silver it'd look way nicer
Edit: I wanna say that if I had the time and patience I'd love to repaint the "yellow" gray plastic to look a tiny bit cleaner
