MY GOD THATS SONGWRITING AT ITS BEST PEOPLE!!!! JASON YOUR ONE OF MY HEROS AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS! TRUE INSPIRATION FOR A SINGER AND SONGWRITER LIKE ME!
Yes it brings tears to my eyes.. Sure glad Jason's on the right path in life like I've said before he's finally satisfied in his life and feels the best in years just my two cents. God Bless Jason..
In my opinion I think boland is definitely undoubtedly one of the best Texas country artist. Saw him once would like to change that see him some more. Great tunes
Someone asked me once what was my favorite song. At first I laughed and said that was impossible to answer. Then after thinking a minute I answered it would be a tie. Jason Boland's Comal County Blues, and REK's Feeling Good Again.
First time I heard him was the Live at Billy Bob's CD. I was instantly hooked. Had a chance to see him and Shooter Jennings in NYC 2016. Actually had tickets. A slight problem with local law enforcement changed my plans.
we don't get good stuff down here in Fl I was Lucky Enough to have ran into the Right man to turn in the right direction I guess I just live in the wrong part of the US. KEEP IT COMING!
Jason is an absolute genius to come up with lyrics like that copying the song down trying to play it. Thanks again Jason for giving us something worth listening to . Because there's very little of it
God it hurts me watching these guys get older... wish I wasn't so young, there won't be many good guys left by the time I'm his age. Atleast music lives on.
I hate to critique a JB&S song. Call me crazy, but Jimmie Rodgers was musically active 1910-1933. The United States Census of 1930 had a special question pertaining to homes with radio sets. Only the moderately wealthy folks had radios in their homes in 1930. In 1930, wealth and possession of land were two different things. While the kids in this song were truly blessed to inherit a homestead (presumably 160 acres, which in modern times would be valued at roughly 400k), the nature of the song and their need to hunt to eat lends me to believe that they couldn't afford a radio during that time... With all of that being said, I really doubt the singer of the song knew who Jimmie Rodgers was. Outside of that, it's a fantastic song. I like this version when it was the Coltrane bridge, presumably in Oklahoma, rather than the studio version that was be Blanco bridge which would refer one back to Texas.
Billy Payne you must drink heavily fluoridated water. This will leave you in a state of mind incapable of comprehending the few intelligent artist left in our society. You are a victim and I will pray for your recovery.
Matt Daily My water is pretty deliciously fluorinated and I still think this is better than Rascal Flatts... Like by a lot. I'm a Yankee though. What do I know?
I love how he paints such a perfect picture with his lyrics. Feels like the old story tellers of country music
Amen! This guy is real country music.

One of the best country folk voices I've heard to this day..
One of my favorite Texas country singers. I would say him, Mark David Manders, Chris Wall, Dale Watson, and Charlie Robinson.
