Your barb wire is way too close to the barricades and bunkers. It is the most common mistake you will see players make when building defenses. The correct way is to build two concentric circles around a point. The inner circle consists of barricades and bunkers. The outer circle consists of barb wire. There should be at least a 20-25-meter gap between the two circles.

Always fun when a team builds a fortress
my team had done this on a server once and all the fortifications got blown up by tanks and artillery so we lost the point pretty quick
Works best on Offensive game type. The Germans can actually place a garrison inside a bunker. Hammer the bunker to level 1 or 2 then place a Garry inside it and build it the rest of the way. Then not even a bombing run can take the garry out. I'm not sure about precision strike tho
It's crazy fun to do, but unfortunately not very effective. The most important thing in this game is controlling the space AROUND and objective, not the objective itself. So when you build a ton of defenses, people usually just stay inside the point and eventually get overrun.
@@Ehralur it is effective on Offensive game type. But like you said you have to control the area around the objective and use the defenses as your fall back position.
I really enjoy the new cinematic approach you've been doing with the third person perspective. With everything else put together, this is what makes your HLL content the best on TH-cam.

@@realhuskI had a similar incident at Remagen, 1 guy on our side had gone insane and attempted to commit suicide with his shotgun. Me and 2 of my squadmates tried to calm him down, but his squadmate also went insane and opened fire and killed 1 of us. He then took out his knife and charged at me. I also took out my knife and stabbed him in the chest while he managed to cut me as well

I remember my first game as commander, where we captured a church, and we then fortified every single street around it, making it nearly impossible to enter. It was so strongly fortified, that during construction, a friendly recon tank entered the church square, and then couldn't get out when the fortifications where finished lol. Almost all I did as commander was drop supplies on that church over and over again
Would be cool to get a custom server and give defenders 20-45 mins of uninterrupted build time, and then the attackers have 1-2 hours to break through all the way.
There was a match I played quite a while back. The Engis really worked together to lock down this defensive point on St. Mere Eglise.
It was Fort Knox. A myriad of bunkers intertwined with walls and wire that was also littered with mines. The enemy team simply gave up the assault and resorted to skirmishing the last 5 minutes of the match because it was just pointless.
Love the narrative, from a practical standpoint however, my advice is ideally use those barbs as a way to force enemies down a narrow choke instead of regular blocking, as you want to direct the enemies into your fire as to make them spend more time on the respawn screen. furthermore, putting those barricades far from the barb wire is ideal too as if they satchel the barb, it doesn’t kill your cover as well.

This reminds me of this one time where several SL, engies and i build a defenses on a destroyed church at the center of a cap point in the middle of the map while another defenses was build on a swamp cap near a bridge while most of the boys held the 1st and 2nd cap, we ended up winning cause the attacker failed to break the 4th cap on the swamp
Building is one of my favorite parts of hell let loose
@@realhusk Tho sadly a bit under utilized, I've seen occasions of small amount of defenses turning an cap point into an impenetrable fortress, it was amazing

adding the floating camera for different POVs is so nice
I got to do this on the church in purple heart lane. One of the craziest things in the game. There was constant artillery, mgs holding off infantry through every road, supplys and engineers, constant yelling. Ended up holding the point for 20 somthing minutes losing it when our west flank got blown to hell by a series of satchels and tanks.
Engineer role is the best role! I like the third person perspective views! Keep up the good work soldier!

Engineers were a big part of WW2 especially in the pacific you did a nice historical role
Really rare to see Engineers actually building in HLL. In my experience the engies on my side either had no supply, no idea on what to do or build, or they were too busy getting shot at to build anything

Hi very nice it's great to finally see a video of competent players actuly utilzing the basic game abiltys and fortification. 90% of thhe player base fail every tim eto get adequate fortificatiosns up on a point. the whole point of fortifications is to try prevent enemy from getting within the circle, somehting most players absolutely fail at doing as the think wooden baracade are gonna stop anyone lol Iv shown players how to fortify a few points on Carentan and completely block streets but very few carry it on to other matches and cos I don't use a mic and paeople fail to understand thing's communicated in any way other than verbally all my great work get's ignored for the most part. 9/10 matches don't even see a wooden barracade or a barbed wire.

Me and three other guys with a wrench, a hammer, and a two truck supply train that the commander was driving one truck managed to build up and hold off the advance troops and later the whole team in WN7. It was a full server. 50 vs 50. After thirty minutes of MGs, smoke, two Shermans, three jumbos, and a strut.
Those sour krauts took to fucking long to get back.

I commanded one match where we fortified town center so much when an enemy bombing run killed our garrison and everyone on point it took us 5 minutes to figure out how to get back into our own point.

Italy as a theatre of operations, would have made more sense. This type of scenario looks more like Anzio, than anything that happened in Normandy, typically. The Allies were, after all, the ones on the offensive in France in 1944.
