Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Scooby Doo Monsters Unleashed for the first time today! This one was even funnier than the first one I think and it had a lot more emotional moments!
In this live-action sequel, the lovable dog Scooby-Doo once again joins his pals Shaggy (Matthew Lillard), Velma (Linda Cardellini), Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) as they stumble into another seemingly supernatural mystery. In addition to facing off against various monsters that are tormenting their town, the gang must deal with television journalist Heather Jasper-Howe (Alicia Silverstone), who is out to discredit their investigations.

Between the two live action Scooby Doo films, i think Monsters Unleashed is way better especially because the Scooby gang faces all of their past monsters a second time except this time they're real.
It felt more like a Classic Scooby Doo episode anyway.

What a missed opportunity years ago for this sequel to be titled “Scooby-Two!”
A major throw-in for this movie though to me is a music cameo featuring 2003 American Idol winner Ruben Studdard. I enjoyed that show in its heyday!
There was supposed to be a third live-action THEATRICAL Scooby-Doo movie, but the second one didn’t perform so well at the Box office, so the third movie was cancelled

If you think about watching the older animated Scooby-doo movies I can recommend "Scooby-doo on Zombieisland", it has a little more of a darker tone then the others but it's so fricking good man!

Velma being in love with Scott evil was cute... even if making him a suspect was useless since he had NOTHING to do with the monsters or the scientist. I still find his character charming and his relation with Velma adorable X3
The villain's bar was a great place! It was nice to see them hanging and playing wack-a-mole with Fred and his friend's heads. The disco scene was a bit weird especially seeing Scooby flirting with a old lady :S I didn't find it funny either, it was more disturbing than anything else.

When I was younger, every weekend in the morning, there was that older 'Scooby-Doo! Where are you?' cartoon series on TV. I saw most of these monsters in it and when I saw them in this movie, I had a smile on my face. Good ol' days, that'll never come back...
The fact that Velma did ALL that math only to kick the Black Knight Ghost in the crotch is hysterical. lol

I keep having this what if in my head of what if, because Shaggy and Scooby brought those costumes to life, the monsters listened to them instead of EMF

Yeah, I like this one a lot more than the first one.
The plot of this one feels much more like a plot to a 90's Scooby Doo film, more than the strange demon possessing in the 1st one.
Also, the version you watched uses KFC product placement, but some versions, such as the one I watched as a kid, used Burger King.
Both these movies hold a special place in my heart for many reasons: I grew up on all the old shows, I know the guy who drew the monsters for both movies, and that James Gunn wrote both of them. Just recently, he got a fan letter written like it came from Scooby. It was adorable!

Funny enough, when I was growing up with both Live-Action Scooby-Doo movie, I always get it the other way around.
I always think of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed as the first movie and the first movie as the Sequel instead of the other way around.
By that logic Wouldn't that mean the first one is a terrible sequel.

I highly recommend you to watch Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins.
The animated movies are a must watch! I've got the majority of them on dvd, all collected from when I was younger. The ones I recomend the most are: Scooby Do and the Loch Ness Monster, Scooby Do and the Goblin King, Scooby Doo Camp Scare, Scooby Doo and the Samurai Sword, Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders, Scooby Doo Zombie Island.
Other good ones for the list are: Aloha Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico, Scooby Doo Where's My Mummy.
None of them have to be watched in order. Some do reference others, but that's only maybe two of three of them from the top of my head.
Anyway glad to see you watching the scooby doo movies. I grew up watching them so it's cool to see your first time reactions to them. These recommendations are based on my experience and favourites, so do listen to others if they have recommendations of their own.

If you are ever gonna watch any more of the Scooby Doo films, might I recommend Legend of the Phantasaur? It's my all time favorite movie from the franchise, cause honestly you can't go wrong with dinosaurs. Shaggy also has a fun sort of character arc in that one. Would be so cool to see you react to that one!!!
If you have a chance, watch the 2 live action Garfield movies from 2004 and 2006 in honor of Chris Pratt playing Garfield. They are cursed

The makeover scene does make you wonder. If Daphne only wears purple and green, why did she have that orange outfit for Velma? I feel like she was saving it for the day Velma may want an extreme makeover lol

There's A LOT of fan service here,with all those monsters(even with those that are only mentioned),which come from the first series "Scooby-Doo-Where Are You!" and "The Scooby-Doo Show",I used to watch this last one (I have only seen a few episodes of the more famous first series),so I was able to recognize them and was so happy to see them in live-action.
From Scooby-Doo-Where Are You!,we got the Zombie,the Miner Forty-Niner,the Black Knight Ghost and Captain Cutler's Ghost,while Redbeard's Ghost was mentioned by Shaggy;
From The Scooby-Doo Show,we have the Pterodactyl Ghost,the Tar Monster,the 10,000 Volt Ghost and the Skeleton Men,while the Ozark Witch was,again,mentioned by Shaggy
And I'm so so so so happy you're gonna watch Scoob!,trust me,if you enjoyed this much the live-action ones,you're gonna love it!

So many peope say, that this is a cringe, bad acting, bad movie, but i gotta say, its gotta be my one of my favorit movies when i was little, i wacthed it in danish though, since im dane, and i have watched it at least 20 times

4:04 I’ve complained about this too many times but The Creeper did not get brought to life in this movie.
They could’ve brought him to life, had him chase the gang. Also, in the old cartoon, The Creeper was said to pass through walls. Wouldn’t that be spooky? Just have his hands and face come out of a wall to grab Daphne?
there's a clip I saw in the outtakes on dvd that showed more about what they all were up to when separated. Wish they had included it, I think it would have only added to the fun. that was from the first one I meant.. This one is more silly fun. Great reaction.

I had the PC game of this movie and I played it so much as a kid, was pretty much the whole movie but through mini games ☺️☺️ this was definitely my favourite of the two movies

The very first brazilian dubbers for Shaggy and Scooby passed away last year(July 27 and 30)
Little note because I don't know why they changed it, but when Shaggy says "Why couldn't we investigate like a KFC or something?", the original line was Burger King instead (I have a DVD that has that edit version). Again, I have NO clue why the more recent showings of it changed to KFC. Which is even weirder where this movie had toy/promo tie-in's with BK. You can KINDA tell the line is ADR-ed in if you listen close, the "K" starts off with a slightly different inflection, like the recording of the line started like a millisecond too late along with being like he sharply goes with a higher inflection compared to right before it. Not to mention the shot only cuts back to him AFTER he says "KFC".
And also a Especially Great Movie reaction for the Heartwarming Movie Second Hand Lion's, and also the other Different Movie Disney's Original Homeword Bound!

I recommend watching Mystery Incorporated. It’s possibly the best version of Scooby Doo right next to the original “Where Are You?”
