I think they explain why Lilo takes pictures of tourists in deleted scenes. The tourists would see her as a sort of attraction because she’s a native hawaiian. So she would take pictures of them to make herself feel better. And Nani is at least 18 because she’s able to have legal guardianship of her sister, and we don’t see her going to school.

The reason Lilo takes sandwiches to Pudge the fish is because she believes Pudge controls the weather. Her parents died in a car crash due to stormy weather and she wants to keep Pudge happy so that it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
You left something out. Lilo and her parents would feed Pudge a peanut butter sandwich on a certain day. One day, they didn't give Pudge a sandwich. It started raining, they went for a drive, their car crashed, and they died.

Mr. Bubbles never said “no” to Lilo’s question about killing anyone, he just said “we’re getting off topic”... and considering the reveal at the end, well... you get the idea.
As a kid, I thought this movie was fun and a good time. As an adult, and single parent, my heart shatters for everything that Nani, having *everything* suddenly placed on her shoulders, trying to grieve the loss of her parents, and her future, while protecting Lilo, to the point that Lilo doesn't even understand. I know Lilo is a little kid, and little kids are generally wrapped up in themselves, but it's not unheard of for kids to have to grow up fast in situations like this. But Nani moves Heaven and Earth to try and protect Lilo's childhood as much as she can. This movie just hits different.
A beloved childhood classic that hits even harder as an adult The two guys that directed lilo and stitch (one of them even voiced stitch) eventually left to work at dreamworks and ended up directing how to train your dragon
David is the best! He may not be the most interesting character but he’s decent, caring and helpful. Bubbles is actually good at his job. He cares Nani and Lilo clearly belong together but he had to be sure. Yea life gets messy and it was good at showing it in realistic and unrealistic ways but it doesn’t mean your family doesn’t work. It’s more relatable than making them seem too perfect. Jumba starts out as a villain but reforms . Pleakley is always funny although he stats off as a bit of a villain . It’s really just his job. Really dislike the bullies but at least Lilo has Nani and David, Stitch, and eventually Bubbles, Jumba and Pleakley . Every kid deserves some kind of loving family. A lot is made out of the sisters in Frozen but Lilo and Nani were that sister bond long before Frozen.
I’ve never understood the seriousness of Lilo and Nani’s situation when I watched this when I was younger. But watching it again now, the whole scene where Nani was trying to convince Cobra Bubbles not to take Lilo away is heartbreaking for me. When Nani said “I’m the only one who understands her. If you take that away, she won’t stand a chance.” It’s sadly true in a way. Not everyone will understand a child like Lilo. She’s bullied by Myrtle and her friends all because she has different interests, like when she showed them Scrump for example. If Lilo was taken away to live with another family, chances are she might have been bounced from home to home because no one else will understand her like Nani would.
Totally understand that. Makes sense why Lilo disown Stitch at first cause not only he lied to her about being a real dog, but he almost ruined Lilo’s life cause he was being hunted that got her house destroyed by accident and it forces Stitch to redeem himself so Lilo and Nani can forgive me.

She does this only because her parents tragically died in a car crash due to severe weather conditions so she feeds pudge so that another kid wouldn't have to go through what she and Nani went through.

This movie, besides featuring a lot of themes of family, also brings up the plight of native Hawaiians in the wake of tourism and westerners taking over the islands. When I was younger I kinda expressed dismay at how “white” everything was, with the Hawaiian culture aspects downplayed. Only when I got older did I realize why, it’s the actual reality of Hawaii. That and Stitch coming to Hawaii as an alien, and adopting Hawaiian culture in a way, whereas the west which only sort of “adopted” it for tourism and forced western culture and ideals onto the islands kinda shows what should have been. It’s something not really talked about and is especially important in the wake of the current state of Hawaii, where natives have less fresh water and land cus the major corps and the rich are taking over and stealing it away.
For the record, the guy behind this movie (Chris Sanders) also helped make the How To Train Your Dragon movies (which is why Toothless and Stitch have similar head/body designs).
"This is my family. I found it all...on...my own. It's little and broken, but still good. Yeah...still good." I've always loved how Stitch delivered that speech to the Grand Councilwoman. That and how he told Nani "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind...or forgotten."

It was believed from fans that Meega, Nala Kweesta= i want to destroy but chris sanders denied the theory in tik tok FanWiki: He also stated in comments of the TikTok video that Tantalog was a concept invented by the creators of Lilo & Stitch: The Series and denied the fandom's long-held belief that the phrase means, "I want to destroy," stating in another comment that he "debated with the series creators on this one
Interesting fact: The spaceship chase at the end was different in the original draft. It was supposed to be an airplane (Boeing I think), and the chase would happen in a city, but because of 9/11 they changed it into the sequence we now know.
As a kid we don't get this, but growing up and watching it again, I could see how great of a character Nani is. She lost her parents and is as lost as Lilo. You can see in Nani's room that she has a lot of surfing trophies, and she is a great surfer. Her dream was to be a professional surfer. But then her parents died, and she had to put that dream aside to take care of Lilo, having all the trouble of being a sort of parent to take care of her little sister, but since the story is told from the views of Lilo, we only saw Nani as an angry annoying sister. I too thought that. Now on my last rewatch, she is my favorite character from the movie.
This is not only my favorite Disney movies but my favorite movie overall. I love the connection between Lilo and Nani and the adorable friendship between Lilo and Stitch.
Glad you decided to watch Lilo & Stitch. It’s easily in my top 4 favorite Disney movies. Everything from the emotional value to the message of family really shines through.
Also another fun fact don’t remember how long ago reason why she doesn’t feed the fish, fish is because fish controls the weather which she thinks that killed her parents in the storm

My girlfriend is actually from Hawaii, which is a funny coincidence since Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite movies and it’s one of the reasons why I’m so fascinated by the culture of Hawaii. That and Pokémon Sun and Moon is based on Hawaii and it just made me ever more fascinated
It’s funny cuz both Pokémon and Lilo and stitch involve “aliens” invading the island. For L&S they’re more of a metaphor for western ppl coming in, with the aliens being more respectful of their culture than the west was. And for Pokémon the ultra beasts are based off of invasive species that westerners introduced to Hawaii that severely hurt the ecosystem
This is still one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Super fun, but also very grounded and realistic (despite all the aliens and sci-fi elements). The family element is unique and very well done.
On follow up watches you notice stuff like lilo cares about pudge controlling the weather cause her parents died in a storm, Nani used to be a pro surfer until she dropped everything to raise Lilo, and so on
I love the scene where the doctors like I would never ever make more than one and then he says the creatures name is 626 I'll leave you to ponder why his named that 🕵️
Presenting THE movie that was considered the "Spark of Hope" for Disney in the 2000s. Why? Because the transition between traditional hand-drawn animation to CGI was not an easy feat as many of Disney's animated flicks in that era were either hit or miss. People were favoring CGI more often, so Pixar took over until Disney could recuperate. Wouldn't be until 2008 that the studio can still pack quite a punch in their work.
This is still my favorite movie of all time. You gotta watch all of the movies. It goes Lilo and stitch. Stitch had a glitch, Stitch! the movie then Leroy and stitch. All worth a watch 😊👏
Interesting Fact: The red ship was originally supposed to be a airplane they stole at an airport and the mountains they were dodging were supposed to be buildings in a city but they redid this scene due to 9/11

@@cleb-b it would be great to have the worlds of Amphibia and the Owl House in the game but it would be incredibly unlikely as both those shows are still very new, not to mention the only the games use content from to show is when they tie into the movies.
This is such a great movie. It always calmed my daughter down when she was a toddler. She loved Stitch. When they put this on Disney+ they changed a part in the movie when Nani is chasing Lilo around the house after the social worker left. Before she gets caught up in the blanket trap Nani set out Lilo was actually inside their dryer and not behind a pizza box.
I absolutely love this movie I saw it in theaters with my dad brother and sister when it came out it became an instant classic for me and part of my childhood thank you for such a great reaction Cody have a great week my friend
This is possibly my favorite Disney movie, it’s so sweet and funny but also deep and a little heartbreaking! I always tear up at the scenes between the sisters.
Lilo and stitch has always held a special place in my heart. I really hope they don't ruin the story with the live action they plan to make. And is it me or does the difference in sound between movie and cody keep increasing. I can barely hear the movie and cody is almost screaming in comparison...
7:40 i know right??? I was bullied when i was little and i never understood why. I'm not sure if it was because i am autistic or because i didn't look like the other skinny girls cuz i'm chubby. But yea, i really don't understand why bullies like to bully others. My mom told me that maybe it's because they either have abusive or neglectful parents, or they don't have friends, which is why they bully others so they can feel better about themselves. Who knows.
The song Nani sings to Lilo is the same song that the last ruler of Hawaii sung to her people before the islands were conquered and annexed by the west (I think America, tho I know Hawaii traded hands a few times)
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but in Nani's room, she has a bunch of trophies for surfing, so it's implied that before all this, she was an accomplished surfer, but gave it all up for Lilo.
This movie was so amazing and a wonderful Disney classic 😁 I remember seeing the show after this movie when it aired on Disney channel during early morning during school days.
I really enjoyed this movie, even now. That was the whole thing with this movie, Elvis. If I remember right, that was the biggest thing about this movie.
I don’t think bullying does anything themselves or give them any major problems. the point is just to make the other person feel bad. To try to make sure they stay away and other reasons.
As an animator each frame is done by hand and some of the Backgrounds are CGI, I didn’t work on the movie though but the backgrounds in Hawaii are watercolors

Lilo and Stitch is my favorite Disney movie!!! I LOVE Stitch SO much!!!!! He's so cute and fluffy :D I met him at Disneyland in 2019 at the PCH Grill. Stitch walked me to the table, gave me 3 hugs and danced with me. It was the best day of my life!!! I also met him at my first trip to Disneyworld in September. Couldn't hug him but hopefully I will soon. Stitch hugs are the best hugs :)
I don’t know if this was ever confirmed by the directors, but there is a connection to why she gives Pudge the fish sandwiches. If you caught the fact that Lilo and Nani’s parents died in a car crash due to a rain storm and the fact that Lilo believes that Pudge controls the weather she is basically “appeasing”a god.
Lilo and Stitch is my undefeated Top 1 movie from disney. I was as a Kid also bullied and i kinda understood what Lilo was going through. Stitch is soo well written: A Genetic experiment thats should only destroy everything he touches transfromed in a loving and cute creature who found something to protect with his life. Yes i can say this movie is the best Disney movie for me. I have so many memories with this. Ps: there are some unused scene you should really check then out cuz 1 scene hits REALLY HARD but it shows what kind of characters stitch is
So I feel so much for Nani. What's really interesting here though - Bubbles is actually being *incredibly patient* with Nani. Things are a bit heightened to make it obvious to the audience that yes, Nani and Lilo really are struggling, but realistically he should have had her out of there *immediately* as an unsafe living situation. But he can tell she's a good kid trying her best, and gives her three days to get things in order.
Lilo & Stitch was such a huge hit when it came out and I believe it still is among fans. The story tore at everyone’s heartstrings and yet it had such a satisfying ending. What’s not to love about it?
For anyone who's seen Moana, watch for David's necklace in this. You're welcome. (Not that I'm suggesting that this is one of their easter eggs teasing a future movie or anything, it's just a cultural thing that happened to come up independently in two of their films.)
Another fun fact, the song Nani things to Lilo Aloha Oe or Farewell to Thee was written by the last Princess of Hawaii as a way to say sorry and goodbye to her people

When I was younger I kinda expressed dismay at how “white” everything was, with the Hawaiian culture aspects downplayed. Only when I got older did I realize why, it’s the actual reality of Hawaii. That and Stitch coming to Hawaii as an alien, and adopting Hawaiian culture in a way, whereas the west which only sort of “adopted” it for tourism and forced western culture and ideals onto the islands kinda shows what should have been.
It’s something not really talked about and is especially important in the wake of the current state of Hawaii, where natives have less fresh water and land cus the major corps and the rich are taking over and stealing it away.
For the record, the guy behind this movie (Chris Sanders) also helped make the How To Train Your Dragon movies (which is why Toothless and Stitch have similar head/body designs).

I've always loved how Stitch delivered that speech to the Grand Councilwoman. That and how he told Nani "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind...or forgotten."

Interesting fact: The spaceship chase at the end was different in the original draft. It was supposed to be an airplane (Boeing I think), and the chase would happen in a city, but because of 9/11 they changed it into the sequence we now know.
They also changed what lilos hiding place was, it used to be a dryer but they changed it to a cabinet in later versions

As a kid we don't get this, but growing up and watching it again, I could see how great of a character Nani is. She lost her parents and is as lost as Lilo.
You can see in Nani's room that she has a lot of surfing trophies, and she is a great surfer. Her dream was to be a professional surfer. But then her parents died, and she had to put that dream aside to take care of Lilo, having all the trouble of being a sort of parent to take care of her little sister, but since the story is told from the views of Lilo, we only saw Nani as an angry annoying sister. I too thought that.
Now on my last rewatch, she is my favorite character from the movie.
I always loved that Stitch was Experiment 626, because that's my birthday (June 26th) and I went to go see it in theaters for my 10th birthday.
This movies is my Absolute favorite in the 2000s Disney catalog. Great choice for a reaction and looking forward to future videos.
This is not only my favorite Disney movies but my favorite movie overall. I love the connection between Lilo and Nani and the adorable friendship between Lilo and Stitch.

Glad you decided to watch Lilo & Stitch. It’s easily in my top 4 favorite Disney movies. Everything from the emotional value to the message of family really shines through.
Fun fact in the hula dance scene they actually went to a hula class and captured everything to make the scene more realistic
Also another fun fact don’t remember how long ago reason why she doesn’t feed the fish, fish is because fish controls the weather which she thinks that killed her parents in the storm
And also last one Nani was a surfing champion reason why you see trophy’s in her room, before their parents passed when she took over as a parent she had to give up her dream
My girlfriend is actually from Hawaii, which is a funny coincidence since Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite movies and it’s one of the reasons why I’m so fascinated by the culture of Hawaii. That and Pokémon Sun and Moon is based on Hawaii and it just made me ever more fascinated
It’s funny cuz both Pokémon and Lilo and stitch involve “aliens” invading the island.
For L&S they’re more of a metaphor for western ppl coming in, with the aliens being more respectful of their culture than the west was.
And for Pokémon the ultra beasts are based off of invasive species that westerners introduced to Hawaii that severely hurt the ecosystem

This is still one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Super fun, but also very grounded and realistic (despite all the aliens and sci-fi elements). The family element is unique and very well done.
On follow up watches you notice stuff like lilo cares about pudge controlling the weather cause her parents died in a storm, Nani used to be a pro surfer until she dropped everything to raise Lilo, and so on

Presenting THE movie that was considered the "Spark of Hope" for Disney in the 2000s. Why? Because the transition between traditional hand-drawn animation to CGI was not an easy feat as many of Disney's animated flicks in that era were either hit or miss. People were favoring CGI more often, so Pixar took over until Disney could recuperate. Wouldn't be until 2008 that the studio can still pack quite a punch in their work.

This is such a great movie. It always calmed my daughter down when she was a toddler. She loved Stitch. When they put this on Disney+ they changed a part in the movie when Nani is chasing Lilo around the house after the social worker left. Before she gets caught up in the blanket trap Nani set out Lilo was actually inside their dryer and not behind a pizza box.

This is possibly my favorite Disney movie, it’s so sweet and funny but also deep and a little heartbreaking! I always tear up at the scenes between the sisters.
Lilo and stitch has always held a special place in my heart. I really hope they don't ruin the story with the live action they plan to make.

But yea, i really don't understand why bullies like to bully others. My mom told me that maybe it's because they either have abusive or neglectful parents, or they don't have friends, which is why they bully others so they can feel better about themselves. Who knows.
The song Nani sings to Lilo is the same song that the last ruler of Hawaii sung to her people before the islands were conquered and annexed by the west (I think America, tho I know Hawaii traded hands a few times)

As an animator each frame is done by hand and some of the Backgrounds are CGI, I didn’t work on the movie though but the backgrounds in Hawaii are watercolors

Lilo and Stitch is my favorite Disney movie!!! I LOVE Stitch SO much!!!!! He's so cute and fluffy :D I met him at Disneyland in 2019 at the PCH Grill. Stitch walked me to the table, gave me 3 hugs and danced with me. It was the best day of my life!!! I also met him at my first trip to Disneyworld in September. Couldn't hug him but hopefully I will soon. Stitch hugs are the best hugs :)
I don’t know if this was ever confirmed by the directors, but there is a connection to why she gives Pudge the fish sandwiches. If you caught the fact that Lilo and Nani’s parents died in a car crash due to a rain storm and the fact that Lilo believes that Pudge controls the weather she is basically “appeasing”a god.
Lilo and Stitch is my undefeated Top 1 movie from disney. I was as a Kid also bullied and i kinda understood what Lilo was going through. Stitch is soo well written: A Genetic experiment thats should only destroy everything he touches transfromed in a loving and cute creature who found something to protect with his life. Yes i can say this movie is the best Disney movie for me. I have so many memories with this.
Ps: there are some unused scene you should really check then out cuz 1 scene hits REALLY HARD but it shows what kind of characters stitch is

So I feel so much for Nani. What's really interesting here though - Bubbles is actually being *incredibly patient* with Nani. Things are a bit heightened to make it obvious to the audience that yes, Nani and Lilo really are struggling, but realistically he should have had her out of there *immediately* as an unsafe living situation. But he can tell she's a good kid trying her best, and gives her three days to get things in order.
Lilo & Stitch was such a huge hit when it came out and I believe it still is among fans. The story tore at everyone’s heartstrings and yet it had such a satisfying ending. What’s not to love about it?
The voice actress for Lilo is the same girl from The Ring.
