Boris Johnson visited a village in Cornwall and asked the locals what the government could do for them. "We have two big needs" said the village spokesman. "First, we have a health centre but no doctor". Boris whipped out his mobile phone spoke for a while and then said "I have sorted it out. A doctor will arrive here tomorrow. What is your other need?"
The spokesman said, "We have no mobile phone reception at all in our village".

The thing is that it's the public that choses. We can't have specific rules preventing people from getting public offices, that's a path we should not go down. You should blame the voters, not the rules. In the end it's the voters who have the responsibility, yet we never dare to blame them. The poor innocent voters just doing their best. What bewilders me is that a man, who was part of Bullingdon Boys, formulated to have a lack of empathy to the common man: got so far. I saw what he was as Mayor of London and was in Manchester! He's part of the club, that's why he got the job again so quickly.
Till people realise that the candidates provided for the main parties are all part of the machine, nothing will change (unsure on Corbyn re that but he didn't seem leader material).
Given his lack of empathy, his presence and history in Belgium (with it's reputation) is worrying also.
Let's not kid ourselves this, this is all occurring now because either another member is being lined up or they want Labour in power. The recording, the speed of the report (never happens when something is wanted kicked down the road), the party reveal, the cctv releases: all very conveniently and PERFECTLY timed.

Never has any intention of paying. Sometimes people are genuinely hard up (in which case they should say so before, or not attend) some people are just tight; with people like Johnson however, I think it's more because of a sense of entitlement, they just expect other people to pickup the tab, or the crap, in terms of both the literal rubbish and/or the fallout of their actions. The rules don't apply to them, and they take full advantage of that. All they think of is themselves; others are of no consequence.

I thought that this interview was measured, detailed and accurate, - professionally done by both of you. Sonia is particularly profound in her statements that everybody seems to thing he's a jovial little fellow, willing to look the other way at his silly mistakes, give him another chance and so on. As she says in her modest but clear way, he has lied, cheated, damaged and thieved his way to the top. But he has done this with our help. He has taken advantage of our gullibility, our naivety and our lack of political acumen. We as an electorate (rather than us as individuals) elected him to where he is now. Yet his dubious record as journalist, Lord Mayor and as Brexit Champion was there for all to see - if we cared to look and take notice. Very few did. So here we are. It's clear that he, to paraphrase Sonia, is perhaps the least qualified person to ever hold the role of Prime Minister. So he has to go, whatever your political views. This should be a warning to us all. Do not elect a lying, cheating, bigoted, callous, manipulative, fraudulent, psychopathic narcissist to the most important job in Britain - and expect things to go well.

My wife and I had the great misfortune of having to deal with a sociopath - who literally destroyed our lives and left us both homeless and penniless. So I can categorically confirm that BJ demonstrates all the classic characteristics of sociopathy.
As Ms Purnell pointedly alludes to, Sociopaths are unrelentingly ruthless and have extremely low levels of integrity, honesty, fairness or consideration for others. Indeed, they are so self-absorbed that they cannot accept [or even see] anything at all wrong with their behaviour.
Worse still, they actually take great pleasure in inflicting suffering on other people through their utterly wicked actions. They have no moral compass or sense of 'wrong or right' and as long as they get what they want, everything and everyone else doesn't matter.
Many Sociopaths are also very naturally predisposed to criminality [although they will vehemently deny this]. The ability to deceive, cheat and con people is insanely addictive to them - even more so than any financial gain in fact. [in the case of the sociopath we encountered he was already a millionaire many times over - yet was still utterly relentless in his desire to ruin us].
In my opinion - there are absolutely no redeeming qualities about sociopaths and suffering the same pain and devastation inflicted on them that they mete out to others is the only solution. Expose and destroy them completely.

He spent the whole of last year avoiding me, lol, hiding in the bin cupboard etc etc, no fridges around I'm afraid. Then I caught him unawares, he only tried to get more money out of me, I told him to F**k off and never come near me again, oh he jumped up and down like Rumplestiltskin, and I swear to God his eyes flashed glowing red. This guy miscalculated me and didn't even have the sense to realise I'd get better, stupid twat. I have informed all my neighbours what he is, and have watched him unravel and crumble in the last year. This is what needs to happen to Boris, unfortunately Boris has still got a big supply, and he will keep on and on with his shit because of the stupidity of his supporters. As for the narc upstairs, he's moved on after only one year.

    • @MrRussor

Indeed, and they're all sociopaths, unfortunately. BJ is nothing special in the context of a politician, he's just done a worse job of hiding it than most. There's a reason some people say that the most qualified leader is the leader who doesn't want to lead -- it's because those who seek positions of power are almost always doing it for personal gain.

A country with about 28 political parties, 17 of which have seats in the parliament, and 11 of which have seats in the European parliament. Where the cabinet is always a coalition of five or six parties and no Etonian Hooray Henry could ever have as much influence as Boris. Anyone who still admires Johnson after hearing this interview must be just like Johnson, which is a very scary thing. I think the world is full of sociopaths and we should all be worried.

Hearing this lady assess the sociopath Johnson - everything makes perfect sense, but it is frightening that such an individual could succeed. Is there any way back to decency for the political class now? And what of us “little people” do we need a civil uprising to drain that Westminster swamp before true patriots with visions of a better Britain can govern? (Or am I in a drug fuelled daze?)
