In all fairness, that's what people keep saying in the yugioh community. Oh konami fix your game because people are going to play One Piece! And the game is still going ok. Tbh, if bushiroad don't want to push premium as a format it's ok considering that bcs and springfest have something like 4 games they need to host tournament for.
Currently my biggest issue with DivineZ is Bushi's decision to release at least 1 new rideline per nation per set. Many old decks need love and attention so there's no need to create new abandoned children just yet. That plus the issue of Stride decks dominating the meta a bit too often are both issue Bushi can recognize and fix. So generally speaking I am hopeful for the future of Vanguard.
Thankfully from what I have seen. The Harri and Nightrose are solid. Not in a too weak spot like Messiah. But not that elevated like Shiranui or Luard. But again. That is just me from what I have seen.
I've been saying the same thing to my friends and locals. There doesn't need to be a new ride line every freaking set. We've already long reached the point where old decks are getting 1, maybe 2, cards of support once in a blue moon and the support itself already varies wildly, ranging from bringing the deck back into meta / competitive status to doing jack all for the deck and continuing to stay irrelevant
From what I can see, the new ride line is good for beginners. Getting old cards is just hard. My newbie friends wanted to build Seraph, Michu and Revoldress decks (which was a somewhat recent deck) and the parts are all so hard to find. So going for the new rideline is their best option. I do agree that we need a lot of reprints. But relying on reprints is just not good for older players who pretty much have the cards they need. Which goes back to the new ridelines. Seeing new ridelines is nice. But I do wish that they don't limit the cards to ridelines. We got nations instead of clans so shouldn't we get less restrictions when it cards to cards? Not saying we go all out like Lianorn being able to use Alchemic. But more like Francette, she has a skill specific for Krysrain but her 2nd skill can be used by other Lyrical cards. That way new players using new ridelines get their support while older players get to look forward to new cards.
@@SinRealm I also agree with you. I wish they took a page from their own book on some of the decks that they have completed and are done with them already. Like Herminia is a solid example. I consider her to be complete already. Just needed an energy blast unit and then done. Which she got. And then. Just leave her be and support the other decks that need it.
They needed to NOT make DD2 and put that towards a digital online client. That was the most tone deaf decision I've seen card company make. Especially after shutting down zero
Bushiroad is almost as tone deaf as Konami for Yugioh and that's pretty bad! And it breaks my heart because Vanguard and Buddyfight are my favorite TCGs!!
I think what Kai meant was that triggers in standard have a higher impact than in previous formats. A lot of us have been playing for a very long time so triggers are not new, simply a defacto part of the game. I dont think most people complain about them existing, rather that their impact in a generally less shield value format with higher offensive power results in them swaying games heavily. Like Varga is the easiest example. If it hits a crit turn 3, it literally might just win that turn or if not, put you in an unwinnable position. I write this comment 1 hour in so I apologize if clarity was mentioned after.
My whole frustrations is it just feels like Bushi doesnt listen to us and the fact that we do a survey every year and it seems like nothing gets implemented is a slap in the face… In regards to product I think bringing back nation extra boosters would be amazing. I dont get why they only do that for Lyrical…
IMO there are too many ride lines and most ride lines need more than five cards to support it well. Also bushiroad needs to reprint more generics, like the discard fodder/stride fodder/Jewel beasts.
It is depressing how passive Bushiroad international is with Vanguard. I'm not sure if they just aren't given the budget or option to change products, try different event formats, etc or if they're just incompetent. To be honest it's a miracle that western Vanguard has been around for as long as it has, and that it's been growing despite frequent neglect from Bushiroad. Doesn't take an industry genius to know that making entry products without these cheap, unnecessary extra supplies would lead to more sales and players, or regionals with more prizing would lead to more participation, or entry products that are designed for 5 year olds should be modified to cater to an audience that is mostly 20+.
I agree. Bushiroad needs to give the west the dame love they give the east. If we had all the tournaments that the east has, the vanguard scene would be massive.
That South América events too real man... If I want to go to the one in my country I gotta travel 1000+km (somewhat doable given enough time) if I wanna go to the next ones I either have to wait months or cross the entire continent lol. WAY too much planning (and money) trying to make it to 2 events in a season.

Also another note, yeah we are passed the tagforce sort of era but I guess it's more about like, you feel included more in the fictional world since you could make your own character and establish your own being. If Dear Days had this and had a costmetic store/added exclusive clothes as prizes along with other things l guess it would be good but that's just how I view why people like Tagforce and the 5ds Championship games.
honestly, i do agree with the entry level product thing since D era started off so strong with that, not only with the initial start decks but also the lyrical one, the bavsagra one and kinda the willdress trio starter decks (they're not perfect certainly but it's better than the divinez ones at least) 2 ideas i think could work for bushi at giving players more frequent entry level products are 1. as said in the video more starter decks in the vein of the gramgrace/favrneel/orfist decksets but specifically i think the cross cray epic ride lines from set 5/lyrical set 3 would make easy entry level products with the exception of needing to explain dual nations cards but they are becoming prevalent enough that i think you could get away with it (would also be real easy to reprint important staples like effect triggers and older higher rarity cards that have not seen reprints and whatnot) 2. expand upon what set 2 did with Vyrgila and have generic ride lines that are best used when rode upon by their grade 3 vanguards but don't require it to funciton that are in a lower rarity in most sets (Common or Rare with the boss unit being Double Rare at the absolute most) so competitive people are still buying packs in bulk to upgrade their decks for events and casual players can still get what they need to make a fuctional deck without needing to spend their whole allowance to get 3 cards they need i think number 1 is more important but i would personally want to to see number 2 happen myself
"There's a lot more Bushiroad could be doing" sums up their business in general. Them not attempting to side swipe Yugioh over the past year with Shadowverse Evolve was a massive blunder given how Vanguard took off when they were the alternative to a terrible format back in 2012. They needed to sponsor some of the bigger Yugioh content creators but they didn't. Those guys would have jumped at the money and a chance to diversify. I understand taking risks could backfire but the modern TCG landscape has so many low risk high reward vectors Bushiroad should be willing to take.
And MY GOD the first point was real. I couldn't believe what I was hearing when people were discussing SVE sets. "This set doesn't matter since there's no event until the next set" is one of the worst possible things people in a game's playerbase should be saying before a set comes out.
Shadowverse is Cygames property so while Bushi made Evolve, a physical card game, I doubt they wanted to give Cygames that level of popularity. Cygames keeps trying tho, that's why Shadowverse : Worlds Beyond it's getting developed
You know, it still baffles me that Bushiroad made the overDress starter decks and then proceeded to make worst starter products ever since(having fake bosses in willDress and fake decks in divineZ). Lyrical having its own product still is a problem, i mean, they stopped with collab exclusive products, why Lyrical needs to be in this weird position were is almost like it isn't part of the game?(it doesn't help that their designs are very different of what we're used to see in the other nations) The dear days, now franchise, would be such a positive addition if they could just see the absurdity of a premium price in a genre of game that, nowdays, is mostly F2P.
Same for me for a different reason. But I want them to make some improvements on this. Either reduce the price tag on everything DD2 itself and related. Or change it to be similar but on par to the YGO and Pokemon Online Simulations.

I also depend on Dear Days because I don't have anywhere else to play, but Dear Days is bad, I have to agree with that, and Dear Days 2 doesn't look better at all. Both feel like games that could have come out years ago, they look like outdated games, compared to games like YGO Master Duel, Duel Links, LoR, Magic Arena, Marvel Snap, even Artifact, all these games look way better than Dear Days. But all this games are free to play online simulators you could say but even YGO Tag Force games look better than Dear Days
Reason they're probably isn't a locals is because vanguard has been managed poorly, new people are fearful another reboot will waste their money, singles are ridiculously expensive, bruh good promos for awful decks are very expensive. Over trigger is bad and unhealthy Pull rates are bad, product is expensive for what you get, product is sometimes hard to find because of the dumb suppliers Sorry I started in 2011 with VG being my first tcg but the game now is just hot trash, most New deck just has the same effects worded differently and the prizing.... Yeah no wonder why most shops don't bother with vg

When I saw Dear Days coming out as an opportunity to play the game with people online, so I bought the game like 2-3 weeks after it's released and not gonna lie, the game is bad and feel like playing early 2000 visual novel game with card simulator in it
The game evolves itself throughout the years. First it's basic as there's like break rides, cross rides and many more. Then there's Imaginary Gifts. And now it's the same as the first gen but with order cards serving as buddyfight spells and many more. Got to admit, I love the game alot as they grow.
My issue with this whole thing. Me and my friend has been talking about this yesterday and we had a huge discussion. I do love DevineZ as the series and all, but when it comes to costs of cards and not many reprints as well, it makes it harder for people like me to even afford any of them. It's not that accessible, and then printing new ride lines constantly makes the others discarded. They will bring support, but it's usually not enough.
@@cujo1990 bro this is how expensive vanguard is. I sold out of vanguard when One pieces 5th set came out. That's 5 entire sets I owned some pricey decks being wilista, zorga, magnolia, youthberk, gandeeva, Eugene🤣, Bruce, etc, etc. I sold it all and was able to afford a playset, 4 copies! Of every single one piece card from set 1 to 5. That's how expensive vanguard is to just one piece alone

@@cujo1990 depends on the times really, I was lucky I guess I quit around the time of a BCS that also landed on payday 🤣🤣, so people had money to splash. Also one piece isn't that expensive, only 1 card base rarity right now goes up to £30, there's some at around £20 but most aren't even ran at 4 copies. Only issue you might find is the stock of certain trial decks which won't mean much soon as there's 5 new trial deck's with reprints alongside a ridiculous amazing reprint set
started playing 3 months ago and one of my fav items ive received is a swirler playmat from tcgplayer, if i got a bcs playmat i think id cherish it quite a lot or even a plastic deckbox like in the premium decksets
When overdress released the community in my country stopped playing. We were a close knit community playing Premium (V was also good because it actively supported Premium). We still meet from time to time but instead of playing Vanguard we play Mario Party, board games or BBQ. Almost nothing in D works in premium because most support is vanguard specific that can not be used because we stride over grade 3 units. It also relies heavily on the ride deck that doesn’t exist and now with energy generation it got worse. The reintroduction of strides gives an unfair advantage to some decks that got lucky with crests as another RNG in addition to the overtrigger. The last real support we had gave us harmonics messiah which every deck needs and is the chase card. I got the support for my clans but didn’t buy it from the secondary market because no one plays anymore so why should I? They give us support as promos that who knows if they release in English at all. We get our supply from Europe and that’s awful for promo cards. I don’t think it will ever come back. Instead of spending money pulling cards I started playing Genshin Impact.
New causal player who just got into their first tourney, I second the flagship idea. Our shop literally had an improvised VG flagship along with YGO, OP, DB, & MTG, and the participation prize was literally two packs and a pr for a 10 dollar entrance price, and that was the first time I literally folded to join shop tournaments. Didn't position well, only had a 1/5 winrate, and I STILL think that was a good way to sink my money. And have already sold my pulls for more than half the price of my entrance fee.
I do have to point out that CFV isn't the only card game with an ongoing anime, Yugioh Rush duels currently has Go Rush and despite that Rush duels are still not a paper format the Rush dub anime and the world in Duel links is going pretty strong and there are a lot of tcg fans that play Rush duels basically as an underground community
They are not paper format because TCG players proved time and time again that they only care about the advanced format because of events. If rush duels wanted to try, it would have to offer prize support a hundreds times better than the regular
For what it's worth, I love Vanguard FOR the triggers because one of the biggest feelsbad for me in any card game is looking at the board going "Shit. I'm already dead." unless my heals are all gone or I don't have a PG, but the opponent can't know that until they play into my 6 card hand assuming I do. Not everyone will like that. I didn't always like Magic the Gathering, but when I understood the Stack, it made things easier to swallow. Maybe people are just more negative in the worldwide audience vs Japan. I'd love to watch Vanguard grow in the States especially more than it does now, but also the OT debate made me roll my eyes so far back, I almost relived my childhood. Getting people into the game on the cheap would be my favorite thing in the world. If I could tell someone to go buy the Eva structure deck for $20 and then all they have to buy is the promo which costs that same amount per card would be a lot easier. At least we know that promos do get reprinted now way more than ever. Collabs are weird because of the licensing deals and stuff. I understand why they're behind vs JP release, but if it wasn't on ENG schedule to begin with, can we really say they were "behind"? When it comes to unsolved metas and stuff like that, isn't that on us for just taking people's words for it? I always look at deck lists online but they don't always tell the whole story because some of the techs are personal choices especially in Pokemon because it's not as linear as Vanguard. And if we're talking about competitive, this is probably a me thing, but I feel like we're losing an aspect of the game to play with stuff that's months ahead (assuming we're bothering to figure it out ourselves as it comes out). I feel like that's a largely self-inflicted wound. Letting JP results stand with JP mindsets and JP approaches and letting that speak for itself is on us for looking at it. I do it too, but that doesn't mean I'm burning myself out. The internet makes the world way smaller while also expanding a lot of other things. There's good and bad in all of it, but if it's bothering us on a personal level, maybe we shouldn't just jump on the JP lists. They'll always be there, but we don't have to look at it 3 months ahead of time. Being owned and controlled by the secondary market doesn't help with that, but to counter the secondary market like that, we need Bushi themselves to step up and provide reprints to fight that market, but they're not Pokemon. They don't have the infinity coffers. I feel like so many products month after month is part of the problem. If all of Vanguard even in JP spaced out the releases, we could tighten our gap without actually losing so much time. Spacing out releases would alleviate a lot of those issues. And if they want to release sets every month, every other release should be reprints - either in pre-built decks or something like Festival or Triple Drive Boosters.
Dear days delayed cardpool could work IF Bushiroad made an OFFICIAL REMOTE TOURNAMENTS USING DEAR DAYS, have some good pricing and that would be it. Since Bushiroad never did this with DD1 its possible they won't with DD2 but who knows, we will see in January 2025.
Look ma dude, gonna be real here, the only reason this game is alive is because of Asia and Japón, outside of that the game has put 0 effort to make the game world wide avalible. Heck the Starter decks for Divinez Launched in April...we are at September and they haven't gave any Trial deck release releated to the anime at all in fact they chosed to release something on november of all months. And the Stride decks, gonna be honest with you lad, if you where gonna bring Strides on Overdress you might as well just reprinted G all together. In terms of prices the new format seems to be fine, the Suo deck for example is kinda expensive but not on the level Youthberk was in the day
Tbh for me the biggest gripe after my friend and I returning to vg (last time i play in paper is during g) is the lack of not overprice official simulator, yes cfa and vanpro exist but compare to yugioh and pokemon, this is like the biggest yike point for beginner
Being in New Zealand kinda sucks for vanguard you have to go to austraila for the bsf etc. We are getting more cardshops stocking it though, little steps.
My favourite part of Vanguard is official product is practically impossible to get in Australia, and (not a vanguard problem, but would be nice) TCGPlayer *_still_* won't ship to Australia... Rip us I guess
Went to my first tournaments in 2017 until 2019 and I still have the playmats in the wrapper because I thought it was so cool and didn't want to use it. Have a couple for buddyfight too
I agree that the main focus should be to keep CFV fun. I don't care much that it's not overbalanced, trying to be the most competitive card game. That just homogenizes the mechanics and you wind up negating the negates with another negate on top of a negate. It's fine for a game to keep it's identity, play into it even, and just be a fun and engaging experience. That's why I love Vanguard. Having said that, it should be much easier for new players to get a decent deck put together.
I mean, look at the prices of generic cards now; it's like they're telling players to stay out if they don't have enough money. I get that they need to do business, but I don't think managing that issue would make the whole company go bankrupt.
Vanguard needs to release sets universally at the same time. I'm so tired of getting sets in the US months behind Japan. This is my biggest problem with the game
What Vanguard happening right now is most of the good staple card are cockblocked by bushi itself. Dont have enough print in market for players and price are high af even in japan. They should take example from Konami and Pokemon. Konami Release structure deck with the pace of every 2 to 3 month schedules. Although their SD monster are suck, their sales are high due to staple that include in that box. Even now you have to buy 2 to 3 SD to get them are sales are high. In CfV, the staple from festivals and cyclers are too high in prices and never got reprinted again. Prices are out of hand and even the players itself cant approach. Plus those are crucial in most of the deck now. Bushi need to cook this problem or they will be cooked.
Since DivineZ deluxe arc coming hopefully they do like maybe "Deluxe history" deck set featuring returning characters like Youthberk, Basavagra, Magnolia etc with all those reprints that makes it accessible for new players. Give them new cards just like the Gramgrace, Falvneel??? and Orfist deck set cuz I feel they are the closest to what people want and get to start with since the start deck set this year is never helping. Even Duema can do a lot more better now. This year their start decks is like close to meta competitive ready decks and they still release about 6 more mega decks such as Dogiragon, Johnny, Ballom etc. with many useful reprints and they are so inviting to start with.
Worst part of energy is that it means we will see cards with effects that will work for the Premium deck, but can't because it has energy in it's cost.
I think, at the current state of Vanguard, Bushiroad should prioritize the promotional aspect and reaching the non-fans, instead of the huge money profit. They kinda work on that way on the early oD, but i dont really feel that anymore nowadays

Am i the only who really dislikes generics, feel like every keter deck coming out is just teifalt+dog, this not only limits deck building but also makes wanting to play certain vanguards very fustrating, i love razael as a vanguard but i also dont want to spend 300$ on a deck that is going to be tier 2 at best. They need to stop printing these broken generics and print actual meaningful support for designates ridelines
Honestly, I had a feeling this would happen when I saw them drop Clans in favour of nation support. Staples would eventually become engines, wich basically warp deckbuilding. It's what is happening right now in One piece also, colors are becoming "what Staples do I want to include in my 20/25 card actual deck".
A lot of chat are asking about investment should look into bushi finance, they don't have that much cash to burn, revenue was peak in 2022, that was the year they should try to overhaul a lot of stuff, currently they can only done so much with how much cash they had left
Just a personal opinion, but OT needs to have the 100 million shield instead of 50k. This is so that even if you draw into your OT, even if your opponent checks an OT, you still sort of have a chance to survive and not just lose instantly just because your opponent checked an OT. It just doesn't feel comfortable even for the winner to win just cuz he checked an OT.
Speaking of Champion's Battle it's only $32 as a physical and Dear Days didn't even get a physical and I don't remember anything about DD2 getting one either. (BTW just checked the Champion's Battle Legendary Edition and it's $30 for digital on switch)
@@denman2991 Zero G was fine tho? Im F2P and i always have atleast one T1 deck and before the game end i have completely built Chronojet Z, Luard, Overlord Destiny, Blaster exceed, Scharhrot, Coral, Shiranui, Chaos, Altmile, and Gurguit and that is excluding event decks like Fenrir and Vanquisher.
we need Vanguard Online, now more than ever, but not the one that was going to release years ago, we need one that feels more recent, we need one with card animations, look at YGO Master Duel and LoR, the card animations make the games so visually appealing

I love how most of the (very justified) critics can be resumed by "Bushi only look at what is OK in Japan, do their cooking with only Japan in mind and care only about Japan and refuse to elaborate for the rest of the world, they get copy / pasta and take it or scram" And what do you know ? Turns out it's not ok because the rest of the world doesn't function the same way. Cwaaaaaaazy. Also looking at what China got with the QSD, makes me think that International CAN do better but copy/pasta is easier lmao why doing our job when we can litteraly act like teenagers who copy/pasta from the internet and try to get away with it... Vanguard doesnt even realy exist in europe Mainly imports from the us, only english cards, no gamestore in germany selling vanguard (all online) Yugioh gets a new anime soon, it never realy has "no Anime" it is just the break period between it I might buy DD2, just cause I wanted to play Vanguard again after playing it once and watched like 8 episodes of the first anime. I waited the whole time for a decent sale of DD1 and it never came. Just the 30% after DD2 announcement.. considdering DD2 has all of DD1 and some more, I could justify the purchase as a complete edition with more stupid dlc I wont buy.. kinda like Legacy of the Duelist remade their own game as complete edition (though no dlcs)
@@DifferentFight while you exclude how USA is having a huge evasion because the stagnancy of premium, Latin America lost over 90% of their playbase, Europe is slowly losing players to One Piece TCG... Vanguard is losing A LOT since their introduction to the obligatory energy that can only be bought in a scammy product made for illiterate children.
This game has so many problems. We never get cash prizes at all. I know that Prize cards can be sold at high prices. But it doesn't really solve the problem. Vanguard isn't exactly played all over the world despite the way it is portrayed in the anime. Very few card shops in the West sell the cards. Dear Days 2 doesn't seem like it will solve the problems that the original had. The original was too expensive. Unfortunately for me I had to depend on Dear Days because no card shop in my area has Vanguard Tournaments. This game is gonna die like Buddy fight in a few years.
If bushiroad doesn't correct this situation for vanguard the game will be end up like buddyfight which is pretty sad and bushiroad can't be the same without for neither vanguard or buddyfight which is their best flagship TCG since they are playable unlike other TCG games like weiss swartz TCG is only just for anime collectibles cards that no one is talking about that so which means that bushiroad needs to stop creating new TCG and focus with their current flagship TCG like vanguard too fix this problem
I’m okay with 1 per year, but it has to support every clan. History Collection was more than exciting to me as the 1 product last year. Same with Premium Collection the year before that. Even more ideal, release 1 set per year that supports all clans, then release a trial deck or a few together with that set. Think like MTG does, set releases with some Commander precons. The precon decks for Premium this year were honestly incredibly phenomenal product, but the problem was that only 3 clans got supported. If those released together with a set that supported all the clans, I don’t think anyone would be complaining about premium product right now.
Why did they even reboot it, maelstrom and friends still lack power, they also lost their nation, while that binding creature in the dragon empire can get upto 60k + power and can multi attack 🙄 Same with chrono jet and messiah🙄

I want V to stay... But screw Premium... Too fast and crazy... I feel like I'm the only one who defends V, Just make a goddamn banlist worth a damn and just start fresh with new cards. Cause goddamnit, we still don't have every other classic unit back yet. Like, Mr. Invincible hasn't gotten a card yet and they made a freaking Hero archetype for fuck sakes! I know V has problems, I'm not denying that, they just need to put on some goddamn elbow geese and some motivation to make it better, but Bushi is like NOPE, we tried our best! At this point, I got nothing. Also, I know it's just a me thing, but V gave me my favorite version of my favorite Kagero unit of all time Dragonic Waterfall. I would of love if they gave us Vortex Dragonewt and his Legion Mate in V too, but Bushi doesn't care. They can't think things through and are too cowardly to fix shit and listen to there customers and fans. Sorry for this long ass rant DF, but I just need to get this out of my mind and chest... With all 3 Formats and for the love of fucking god's green earth don't have FuRyu make it!!! I mean... They partnered with CyGames! They make good games! They know what the fuck to do, just let them make it. But again, they're narrow-minded and cowardly. But that's just my two cents. Ok, I'm done ranting. Peace out Cardfighters!

I remember the year vanguard had a 2 day tournament best of 3 on day 2 . Then the format split happened and it can never happen again unless we kill premium. Competitive vanguard peaked there.
Things will only change for the better when Bushiroad decides to stop trying to be bigger than what they are, listen to their player base and actually give a shit about their game. So far I don't see that happening.

Yeah because stride decks is going to be their current problem causing the game out balance in D standard making it even worst rather than encounter cards that doesn't have stride mechanics system in D standard such as daiyusha, maelstrom, luqueir, overlord, Minerva, MLB and blaster which are now belong to persona ride system

I would say Shiranui is the only one with a real problem with its crest effect. And to me, I can't imagine anything like gurguit, ahsha, or altmile etc really being issues if they came out with deck sets.

Tbh, if bushiroad don't want to push premium as a format it's ok considering that bcs and springfest have something like 4 games they need to host tournament for.
Currently my biggest issue with DivineZ is Bushi's decision to release at least 1 new rideline per nation per set.
Many old decks need love and attention so there's no need to create new abandoned children just yet.
That plus the issue of Stride decks dominating the meta a bit too often are both issue Bushi can recognize and fix.
So generally speaking I am hopeful for the future of Vanguard.
Thankfully from what I have seen. The Harri and Nightrose are solid. Not in a too weak spot like Messiah. But not that elevated like Shiranui or Luard. But again. That is just me from what I have seen.
I've been saying the same thing to my friends and locals. There doesn't need to be a new ride line every freaking set. We've already long reached the point where old decks are getting 1, maybe 2, cards of support once in a blue moon and the support itself already varies wildly, ranging from bringing the deck back into meta / competitive status to doing jack all for the deck and continuing to stay irrelevant

From what I can see, the new ride line is good for beginners. Getting old cards is just hard. My newbie friends wanted to build Seraph, Michu and Revoldress decks (which was a somewhat recent deck) and the parts are all so hard to find. So going for the new rideline is their best option. I do agree that we need a lot of reprints. But relying on reprints is just not good for older players who pretty much have the cards they need.
Which goes back to the new ridelines. Seeing new ridelines is nice. But I do wish that they don't limit the cards to ridelines. We got nations instead of clans so shouldn't we get less restrictions when it cards to cards? Not saying we go all out like Lianorn being able to use Alchemic. But more like Francette, she has a skill specific for Krysrain but her 2nd skill can be used by other Lyrical cards. That way new players using new ridelines get their support while older players get to look forward to new cards.
@@SinRealm I also agree with you. I wish they took a page from their own book on some of the decks that they have completed and are done with them already. Like Herminia is a solid example. I consider her to be complete already. Just needed an energy blast unit and then done. Which she got. And then. Just leave her be and support the other decks that need it.

I think what Kai meant was that triggers in standard have a higher impact than in previous formats. A lot of us have been playing for a very long time so triggers are not new, simply a defacto part of the game. I dont think most people complain about them existing, rather that their impact in a generally less shield value format with higher offensive power results in them swaying games heavily. Like Varga is the easiest example. If it hits a crit turn 3, it literally might just win that turn or if not, put you in an unwinnable position. I write this comment 1 hour in so I apologize if clarity was mentioned after.
My whole frustrations is it just feels like Bushi doesnt listen to us and the fact that we do a survey every year and it seems like nothing gets implemented is a slap in the face…

IMO there are too many ride lines and most ride lines need more than five cards to support it well.
Also bushiroad needs to reprint more generics, like the discard fodder/stride fodder/Jewel beasts.
It is depressing how passive Bushiroad international is with Vanguard. I'm not sure if they just aren't given the budget or option to change products, try different event formats, etc or if they're just incompetent. To be honest it's a miracle that western Vanguard has been around for as long as it has, and that it's been growing despite frequent neglect from Bushiroad. Doesn't take an industry genius to know that making entry products without these cheap, unnecessary extra supplies would lead to more sales and players, or regionals with more prizing would lead to more participation, or entry products that are designed for 5 year olds should be modified to cater to an audience that is mostly 20+.
I agree. Bushiroad needs to give the west the dame love they give the east. If we had all the tournaments that the east has, the vanguard scene would be massive.

Also another note, yeah we are passed the tagforce sort of era but I guess it's more about like, you feel included more in the fictional world since you could make your own character and establish your own being. If Dear Days had this and had a costmetic store/added exclusive clothes as prizes along with other things l guess it would be good but that's just how I view why people like Tagforce and the 5ds Championship games.
honestly, i do agree with the entry level product thing since D era started off so strong with that, not only with the initial start decks but also the lyrical one, the bavsagra one and kinda the willdress trio starter decks (they're not perfect certainly but it's better than the divinez ones at least) 2 ideas i think could work for bushi at giving players more frequent entry level products are
1. as said in the video more starter decks in the vein of the gramgrace/favrneel/orfist decksets but specifically i think the cross cray epic ride lines from set 5/lyrical set 3 would make easy entry level products with the exception of needing to explain dual nations cards but they are becoming prevalent enough that i think you could get away with it (would also be real easy to reprint important staples like effect triggers and older higher rarity cards that have not seen reprints and whatnot)
2. expand upon what set 2 did with Vyrgila and have generic ride lines that are best used when rode upon by their grade 3 vanguards but don't require it to funciton that are in a lower rarity in most sets (Common or Rare with the boss unit being Double Rare at the absolute most) so competitive people are still buying packs in bulk to upgrade their decks for events and casual players can still get what they need to make a fuctional deck without needing to spend their whole allowance to get 3 cards they need
i think number 1 is more important but i would personally want to to see number 2 happen myself

"There's a lot more Bushiroad could be doing" sums up their business in general. Them not attempting to side swipe Yugioh over the past year with Shadowverse Evolve was a massive blunder given how Vanguard took off when they were the alternative to a terrible format back in 2012. They needed to sponsor some of the bigger Yugioh content creators but they didn't. Those guys would have jumped at the money and a chance to diversify. I understand taking risks could backfire but the modern TCG landscape has so many low risk high reward vectors Bushiroad should be willing to take.
And MY GOD the first point was real. I couldn't believe what I was hearing when people were discussing SVE sets. "This set doesn't matter since there's no event until the next set" is one of the worst possible things people in a game's playerbase should be saying before a set comes out.
Shadowverse is Cygames property so while Bushi made Evolve, a physical card game, I doubt they wanted to give Cygames that level of popularity.

You know, it still baffles me that Bushiroad made the overDress starter decks and then proceeded to make worst starter products ever since(having fake bosses in willDress and fake decks in divineZ).
Lyrical having its own product still is a problem, i mean, they stopped with collab exclusive products, why Lyrical needs to be in this weird position were is almost like it isn't part of the game?(it doesn't help that their designs are very different of what we're used to see in the other nations)
The dear days, now franchise, would be such a positive addition if they could just see the absurdity of a premium price in a genre of game that, nowdays, is mostly F2P.

I also depend on Dear Days because I don't have anywhere else to play, but Dear Days is bad, I have to agree with that, and Dear Days 2 doesn't look better at all. Both feel like games that could have come out years ago, they look like outdated games, compared to games like YGO Master Duel, Duel Links, LoR, Magic Arena, Marvel Snap, even Artifact, all these games look way better than Dear Days.

Reason they're probably isn't a locals is because vanguard has been managed poorly, new people are fearful another reboot will waste their money, singles are ridiculously expensive, bruh good promos for awful decks are very expensive.

When I saw Dear Days coming out as an opportunity to play the game with people online, so I bought the game like 2-3 weeks after it's released and not gonna lie, the game is bad and feel like playing early 2000 visual novel game with card simulator in it

The game evolves itself throughout the years. First it's basic as there's like break rides, cross rides and many more. Then there's Imaginary Gifts. And now it's the same as the first gen but with order cards serving as buddyfight spells and many more. Got to admit, I love the game alot as they grow.
My issue with this whole thing. Me and my friend has been talking about this yesterday and we had a huge discussion. I do love DevineZ as the series and all, but when it comes to costs of cards and not many reprints as well, it makes it harder for people like me to even afford any of them. It's not that accessible, and then printing new ride lines constantly makes the others discarded. They will bring support, but it's usually not enough.

I owned some pricey decks being wilista, zorga, magnolia, youthberk, gandeeva, Eugene🤣, Bruce, etc, etc. I sold it all and was able to afford a playset, 4 copies! Of every single one piece card from set 1 to 5. That's how expensive vanguard is to just one piece alone

@@cujo1990 depends on the times really, I was lucky I guess I quit around the time of a BCS that also landed on payday 🤣🤣, so people had money to splash. Also one piece isn't that expensive, only 1 card base rarity right now goes up to £30, there's some at around £20 but most aren't even ran at 4 copies. Only issue you might find is the stock of certain trial decks which won't mean much soon as there's 5 new trial deck's with reprints alongside a ridiculous amazing reprint set

Bushiroad views the country of Japan as their "global" market
When overdress released the community in my country stopped playing. We were a close knit community playing Premium (V was also good because it actively supported Premium). We still meet from time to time but instead of playing Vanguard we play Mario Party, board games or BBQ.
Almost nothing in D works in premium because most support is vanguard specific that can not be used because we stride over grade 3 units. It also relies heavily on the ride deck that doesn’t exist and now with energy generation it got worse. The reintroduction of strides gives an unfair advantage to some decks that got lucky with crests as another RNG in addition to the overtrigger. The last real support we had gave us harmonics messiah which every deck needs and is the chase card. I got the support for my clans but didn’t buy it from the secondary market because no one plays anymore so why should I?
They give us support as promos that who knows if they release in English at all. We get our supply from Europe and that’s awful for promo cards.
I don’t think it will ever come back. Instead of spending money pulling cards I started playing Genshin Impact.
New causal player who just got into their first tourney, I second the flagship idea. Our shop literally had an improvised VG flagship along with YGO, OP, DB, & MTG, and the participation prize was literally two packs and a pr for a 10 dollar entrance price, and that was the first time I literally folded to join shop tournaments. Didn't position well, only had a 1/5 winrate, and I STILL think that was a good way to sink my money. And have already sold my pulls for more than half the price of my entrance fee.
I do have to point out that CFV isn't the only card game with an ongoing anime, Yugioh Rush duels currently has Go Rush and despite that Rush duels are still not a paper format the Rush dub anime and the world in Duel links is going pretty strong and there are a lot of tcg fans that play Rush duels basically as an underground community
They are not paper format because TCG players proved time and time again that they only care about the advanced format because of events. If rush duels wanted to try, it would have to offer prize support a hundreds times better than the regular

For what it's worth, I love Vanguard FOR the triggers because one of the biggest feelsbad for me in any card game is looking at the board going "Shit. I'm already dead." unless my heals are all gone or I don't have a PG, but the opponent can't know that until they play into my 6 card hand assuming I do. Not everyone will like that. I didn't always like Magic the Gathering, but when I understood the Stack, it made things easier to swallow. Maybe people are just more negative in the worldwide audience vs Japan. I'd love to watch Vanguard grow in the States especially more than it does now, but also the OT debate made me roll my eyes so far back, I almost relived my childhood.
Getting people into the game on the cheap would be my favorite thing in the world. If I could tell someone to go buy the Eva structure deck for $20 and then all they have to buy is the promo which costs that same amount per card would be a lot easier. At least we know that promos do get reprinted now way more than ever.
Collabs are weird because of the licensing deals and stuff. I understand why they're behind vs JP release, but if it wasn't on ENG schedule to begin with, can we really say they were "behind"?
When it comes to unsolved metas and stuff like that, isn't that on us for just taking people's words for it? I always look at deck lists online but they don't always tell the whole story because some of the techs are personal choices especially in Pokemon because it's not as linear as Vanguard. And if we're talking about competitive, this is probably a me thing, but I feel like we're losing an aspect of the game to play with stuff that's months ahead (assuming we're bothering to figure it out ourselves as it comes out). I feel like that's a largely self-inflicted wound. Letting JP results stand with JP mindsets and JP approaches and letting that speak for itself is on us for looking at it. I do it too, but that doesn't mean I'm burning myself out. The internet makes the world way smaller while also expanding a lot of other things. There's good and bad in all of it, but if it's bothering us on a personal level, maybe we shouldn't just jump on the JP lists. They'll always be there, but we don't have to look at it 3 months ahead of time.
Being owned and controlled by the secondary market doesn't help with that, but to counter the secondary market like that, we need Bushi themselves to step up and provide reprints to fight that market, but they're not Pokemon. They don't have the infinity coffers. I feel like so many products month after month is part of the problem. If all of Vanguard even in JP spaced out the releases, we could tighten our gap without actually losing so much time. Spacing out releases would alleviate a lot of those issues. And if they want to release sets every month, every other release should be reprints - either in pre-built decks or something like Festival or Triple Drive Boosters.
Dear days delayed cardpool could work IF Bushiroad made an OFFICIAL REMOTE TOURNAMENTS USING DEAR DAYS, have some good pricing and that would be it.
Since Bushiroad never did this with DD1 its possible they won't with DD2 but who knows, we will see in January 2025.

Look ma dude, gonna be real here, the only reason this game is alive is because of Asia and Japón, outside of that the game has put 0 effort to make the game world wide avalible. Heck the Starter decks for Divinez Launched in April...we are at September and they haven't gave any Trial deck release releated to the anime at all in fact they chosed to release something on november of all months. And the Stride decks, gonna be honest with you lad, if you where gonna bring Strides on Overdress you might as well just reprinted G all together.
In terms of prices the new format seems to be fine, the Suo deck for example is kinda expensive but not on the level Youthberk was in the day

Went to my first tournaments in 2017 until 2019 and I still have the playmats in the wrapper because I thought it was so cool and didn't want to use it. Have a couple for buddyfight too
I agree that the main focus should be to keep CFV fun. I don't care much that it's not overbalanced, trying to be the most competitive card game. That just homogenizes the mechanics and you wind up negating the negates with another negate on top of a negate. It's fine for a game to keep it's identity, play into it even, and just be a fun and engaging experience. That's why I love Vanguard. Having said that, it should be much easier for new players to get a decent deck put together.
I mean, look at the prices of generic cards now; it's like they're telling players to stay out if they don't have enough money. I get that they need to do business, but I don't think managing that issue would make the whole company go bankrupt.
Vanguard needs to release sets universally at the same time. I'm so tired of getting sets in the US months behind Japan. This is my biggest problem with the game

What Vanguard happening right now is most of the good staple card are cockblocked by bushi itself. Dont have enough print in market for players and price are high af even in japan. They should take example from Konami and Pokemon. Konami Release structure deck with the pace of every 2 to 3 month schedules. Although their SD monster are suck, their sales are high due to staple that include in that box. Even now you have to buy 2 to 3 SD to get them are sales are high. In CfV, the staple from festivals and cyclers are too high in prices and never got reprinted again. Prices are out of hand and even the players itself cant approach. Plus those are crucial in most of the deck now. Bushi need to cook this problem or they will be cooked.

hopefully they do like maybe "Deluxe history" deck set featuring returning characters like Youthberk, Basavagra, Magnolia etc with all those reprints that makes it accessible for new players. Give them new cards just like the Gramgrace, Falvneel??? and Orfist deck set cuz I feel they are the closest to what people want and get to start with since the start deck set this year is never helping.
Even Duema can do a lot more better now. This year their start decks is like close to meta competitive ready decks and they still release about 6 more mega decks such as Dogiragon, Johnny, Ballom etc. with many useful reprints and they are so inviting to start with.
Worst part of energy is that it means we will see cards with effects that will work for the Premium deck, but can't because it has energy in it's cost.

I think, at the current state of Vanguard, Bushiroad should prioritize the promotional aspect and reaching the non-fans, instead of the huge money profit. They kinda work on that way on the early oD, but i dont really feel that anymore nowadays

Am i the only who really dislikes generics, feel like every keter deck coming out is just teifalt+dog, this not only limits deck building but also makes wanting to play certain vanguards very fustrating, i love razael as a vanguard but i also dont want to spend 300$ on a deck that is going to be tier 2 at best. They need to stop printing these broken generics and print actual meaningful support for designates ridelines
Honestly, I had a feeling this would happen when I saw them drop Clans in favour of nation support. Staples would eventually become engines, wich basically warp deckbuilding. It's what is happening right now in One piece also, colors are becoming "what Staples do I want to include in my 20/25 card actual deck".
A lot of chat are asking about investment should look into bushi finance, they don't have that much cash to burn, revenue was peak in 2022, that was the year they should try to overhaul a lot of stuff, currently they can only done so much with how much cash they had left

Just a personal opinion, but OT needs to have the 100 million shield instead of 50k. This is so that even if you draw into your OT, even if your opponent checks an OT, you still sort of have a chance to survive and not just lose instantly just because your opponent checked an OT. It just doesn't feel comfortable even for the winner to win just cuz he checked an OT.

we need Vanguard Online, now more than ever, but not the one that was going to release years ago, we need one that feels more recent, we need one with card animations, look at YGO Master Duel and LoR, the card animations make the games so visually appealing

I might buy DD2, just cause I wanted to play Vanguard again after playing it once and watched like 8 episodes of the first anime. I waited the whole time for a decent sale of DD1 and it never came. Just the 30% after DD2 announcement.. considdering DD2 has all of DD1 and some more, I could justify the purchase as a complete edition with more stupid dlc I wont buy.. kinda like Legacy of the Duelist remade their own game as complete edition (though no dlcs)

This game has so many problems. We never get cash prizes at all. I know that Prize cards can be sold at high prices. But it doesn't really solve the problem. Vanguard isn't exactly played all over the world despite the way it is portrayed in the anime. Very few card shops in the West sell the cards. Dear Days 2 doesn't seem like it will solve the problems that the original had. The original was too expensive. Unfortunately for me I had to depend on Dear Days because no card shop in my area has Vanguard Tournaments. This game is gonna die like Buddy fight in a few years.
If bushiroad doesn't correct this situation for vanguard the game will be end up like buddyfight which is pretty sad and bushiroad can't be the same without for neither vanguard or buddyfight which is their best flagship TCG since they are playable unlike other TCG games like weiss swartz TCG is only just for anime collectibles cards that no one is talking about that so which means that bushiroad needs to stop creating new TCG and focus with their current flagship TCG like vanguard too fix this problem

Stride is not the strongest actually. For example. WGP Singapore with 510 participant. Top 16 have only 3 strides. 1 shiranui and 2 nightrose.
Vanguard needs 2 premium products instead of 1 why wait a whole year for 1
I’m okay with 1 per year, but it has to support every clan. History Collection was more than exciting to me as the 1 product last year. Same with Premium Collection the year before that.
Even more ideal, release 1 set per year that supports all clans, then release a trial deck or a few together with that set. Think like MTG does, set releases with some Commander precons. The precon decks for Premium this year were honestly incredibly phenomenal product, but the problem was that only 3 clans got supported. If those released together with a set that supported all the clans, I don’t think anyone would be complaining about premium product right now.
Just imagine, worlds top 3 players get them drawn as a character from the vanguard anime on an energy generator

I would of love if they gave us Vortex Dragonewt and his Legion Mate in V too, but Bushi doesn't care. So, with my solution about Dear Days 2...
Just make a Master Duel version of Vanguard. With all 3 Formats and for the love of fucking god's green earth don't have FuRyu make it!!! I mean... They partnered with CyGames! They make good games! They know what the fuck to do, just let them make it. But again, they're narrow-minded and cowardly. But that's just my two cents.

I remember the year vanguard had a 2 day tournament best of 3 on day 2 . Then the format split happened and it can never happen again unless we kill premium.
Competitive vanguard peaked there.
Things will only change for the better when Bushiroad decides to stop trying to be bigger than what they are, listen to their player base and actually give a shit about their game. So far I don't see that happening.

Yeah because stride decks is going to be their current problem causing the game out balance in D standard making it even worst rather than encounter cards that doesn't have stride mechanics system in D standard such as daiyusha, maelstrom, luqueir, overlord, Minerva, MLB and blaster which are now belong to persona ride system
@@joconsjariol3578 I kinda doubt this unless they go batshit crazy with the crest effects. Both Harri and Nightrose while good did not really blow anyone's minds. I would say Shiranui is the only one with a real problem with its crest effect. And to me, I can't imagine anything like gurguit, ahsha, or altmile etc really being issues if they came out with deck sets.

This is a new game with new archetypes Bushi should have focused on releasing stuff related to the anime but they would ratter launch revamped versions of G units instead of giving us new Trial decks like one for each of the protagonists of the anime

V era sent people away who did not want to move into just V. Stride decksets provide that nostalgia factor and the crest allows them to relatively keep up with the new cards.

Make online digital games for Vanguard and Buddyfight because Buddyfight still has a TON of fans
translate the 3DS Vanguard and Buddyfight games and port them to Switch and stuff

That was also the final nail in the coffin. A direct representative called me and everything. And then they lower shield values. Make the game more and more generic. And it just ends up not being the play. Overdress is the final format this game will see. My LGS and others in my area stopped hosting the game. And I played vanguard since day one. It’s over as a game.
