Toyota Corolla Sedan gets 1.5 Dynamic Force engine
Toyota will present the Corolla Sedan with the new 1.5 Dynamic Force power unit that offers greater efficiency. The 1.5 Dynamic Force, the new engine option of the Toyota Corolla Sedan produced in Turkey, was developed to meet the new emission standards in Europe.
Toyota's new 1.5 Dynamic Force engine draws attention with its low consumption and environmental features. The new 3-cylinder 1.5-litre engine weighs less and takes up less space thanks to its modern and TNGA-compliant design. In addition, it offers a 17% improvement in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The new 1.5 Dynamic Force, with its advanced technology and improved features, offers a better air-fuel mixture, providing higher thermal efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The new 1.5-liter engine has a combined consumption of 127-139 g / km CO2 and 5.6-6.2 l / 100 km according to WLTP measurements.
The unit that can be preferred in the Toyota Corolla Sedan can produce 123 horsepower, 153 Nm of torque and can be paired with a continuously variable ratio automatic (CVT) or 6-speed manual transmission. CVT has 10 forward rates in manual mode. The new unit will replace the 1.6-liter engine that can produce 132 horsepower and 159 Nm of torque, and prices will be announced soon.

What about price?
I believe it is around +20.000€ for a mild hybrid/manual/125HP here in Slovenia at the moment. With some extra gear it can get up to 22.000€+++.
How can you say it's better engine?
My Toyota from 2010 has 1.6 liter engine with 132hp and 160Nm of torque. After 11 (eleven!!) years of technological progress they cut of one cilinder, decreaasing the power and torque. I wonder if the wobling and rattling 3-cilinder engine will work after next 11 years :)
Yeah, the CO2 emissions were lowered from 153g/km to somwhere around 130g/km, but for consumer point of view it doesn't matter. For over a decade I see there was no improvment for me (and it's the Toyota - the biggest manufacturer of the world).
