2022 Kia K9 Interior Revealed With Big Screen, Fingerprint Authentication
The company's flagship wants to steer you away from in-house rival Genesis.
When it comes to buying an upscale South Korean sedan, customers are spoiled for choice. Other than the obvious Genesis standalone luxury brand, parent company Hyundai has the Grandeur, which will switch to the next generation in 2022 and allegedly stretch at over five meters (nearly 197 inches). Then there's this, the Kia K9 aka the defunct K900 in the United States.
The stately sedan lives on in its domestic market where it's getting a mid-cycle update. Following a partial reveal a few weeks ago, Kia's range-topper is making the headlines again by showing its mildly tweaked interior for the first time. It does away with the previous 12.3-inch infotainment to make room for a larger 14.5-inch setup, which has the exact same diagonal you'll find in some Genesis models.
Already implemented by Genesis and Hyundai, a fingerprint authentication system makes its debut in the KDM-spec K9 and enables the possibility of having multiple personalized profiles. The car will automatically change the seat position and climate control settings once the fingerprint is detected.
In addition, the position of the side mirrors will change to the pre-programmed location, while the digital instrument cluster will also switch to the driver's preferred layout. Making payments through the infotainment will also be possible with the fingerprint, without the need of a separate card.
Over-the-air updates are now supported by the K9 and will bring improvements to the screens and even the head-up display. A smartphone app will allow owners to remotely open and start the car as well as check the surroundings. An extended array of safety and driver assistance systems is now available for Kia’s flagship, including predictive shifting by changing gears based on information provided by the radar and cameras.
To make the interior even quieter, Kia has fitted its posh fullsize sedan with improved sound-insulating glass. New wood trims are debuting with the K9's facelift, along with fancier upholstery and "Ergo Motion" driver's seat that extends for greater comfort. There's also a VIP rear-right seat that extends to make the journey as pleasant as possible.
The 2022 Kia K9 goes on sale locally on June 3 and costs from a little over $51,000 (converted from South Korean won) for the base version and up to $68,300 for the highest trim level, before options.

No they are not producing quality cars…someone I know owns a Genesis and he’s complaining about the engine sound……these guys don’t have the thing to make quality and durable engines

@@unom5579 thatsnot true at all. Are you dumb? They had issues with the 2.0T theta 2 engine and only like 3 percent. Thats where the fires came from. It was revised in 2014 and hasnt had a problem since. I had a 2011 and never had a problem. I habe had 4 hyundqi cars all 300 plus k miles and not any problems.
@@chrishuber8930 only 3% theta engines with problems?:)) i think you are kidding...most of the theta 2 engines failed or are going to fail, there are thousands of complaints only on internet. I also saw other hyundai engines which have some sorts of engine knocking at cold starts and some permanent knocking. I drive a diesel santa fe and had engine knock. Replaced the engine and after 3000kms this engine knocks too. I got in a hyundai group on facebook and there i've met people which replaced up to 3 engines. So you can live in your dream but i dont buy it.

I have the 2018 G80 sport and the G90’was next on my list but seeing this I’ll have zero problems jumping into the Kia K9 if it makes it to Canada. Wow just wow!

In 2009 I said I would never own a Kia... In 2011 I saw Griffin jump over the Optima... In 2012 I traded the Camry for a Optima EX feel in love with it, so when it got totaled in 2020 we got a Palisade Limited... Now I'm looking to upgrade the Charger to a Sorento... Don't see myself buying anything but Korean for the next few years...

In 2009 i saw kia opirus, it was distinctive and beautiful, and it was in the beginning, and I was saying it would be great in 2019 😂👍 now KIA K9 is great, it the luxury car in a popular brand

@@1andtheOnly German cars are infamous for having technical problems. Here in Germany people are moving to other manufacturers, since even the customer service is terrible. Plus you’re paying way too much for a car that’s mostly build in China and the official Workshops are crazy expensive. They are also not as reliable anymore as back in the day.

My friend has an Audi S5, and surely it's giving him issues. As for me, I have a stinger (modified) pushed it hard all the time , so far i have yet to find a problem🤔 (but hopefully not). Now, not saying I trust the experts from magazine or internet, but they're testing it from 50-100 cars from each companies. Stay safe 🙏

현대 기아차는 세계의 유명 브랜드의 CEO들과 디자이너를 영입했죠.
그래서 비슷할 수 있죠. 기아차의 디자인 총괄 사장이 피터 슈라이어 입니다. 현대엔 BMW M의 창시자가 사장이고요.
