With the modern M cars a few subscribers have advised us to try out a certain "Sound-mode" for start up an driving by pressing the traction control button in a certain sequence. I came from an 15 Audi S3, I had the valves open 100% of the time, then the Resonantor Delete.( I first watched on your channel) Now to be able to do this on the M2= "M-Smile"

This actually works on my F56 S LCI as well! There is no valve in the exhaust, but it’ll pop and bang way more

TestLife leider kommt der mit dem M4 Motor, der meiner Meinung nach nicht so schön klingt wie der aktuelle n55 motor.

Cjkologe n55? Den hatte doch das vorfacelift Modell. Deswegen war der M240i mit dem neuen B58 schneller als der M2 obwohl paar PS weniger.
hawkseye nein das ist nicht richtig. Der aktuelle Facelift- M2 hat immer noch den n55. Was auch gut ist, der n55 klingt einfach grandios.
ich kann mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen, trotz allgemeiner Meinung dass Bmw im competition modell den s55 verbaut, ich tippe auf noch eine version des n55, aber noch eher auf den b58, da die emissionen beim n55 scheinbar schwierig sind, klang geht auch unter emission ;) ich schätze der M2 CS und GTS werden den S55 bekommen, denn ich glaube diese werden auch folgen. aber ich kann mich irren. wiso ich diese meinung habe. ich glaube es würde den M3/M4 irgendwie ein bisschen, entwerten. und oder den M2 aus seinem Preissegment heben und diese positionierung ist mit andere F modellen schon belegt. abwarten. Ich kritisiere diese immernein bisschen ein anderes modell nachschieben mit minimalen veränderungen wie bei apple verhalten scharf an bmw. ja ich weis, zuerst sehen wies läuft usw.. aber wiso? bsp led leuchten? wiso nich direkt von anfang an? brauchts dafür einen LCI?

A Coldstart and a warm start dont work with valves open with this trick, but you have more bubbely sound if you turn on traction mode while driving

Great video! But when the valves are open it doesn't have good crackles. When you did a pure sound on this car the sound was better
So the exhaust valves remain open for as long as you stay in TRACTION mode?
That’s the only thing I like about this you can open and close the valves lol

Sounds better, except when it starts "popping" which then makes it sound like you did some DIY job on the exhaust to make it louder :)
Actually you can get into this MDM(Traction) mode anytime while driving.

Michael Rays pre lci , just turn off traction control in comfort mode , either before starting or whilst engine on , same result .

if i press sport mode after i started up does it still work ?
no. in sports mode it is also more burbling but much less. i is more in only traction mode.
But traction control it's less fun than ESP off, and at full throttle the sound it's less stronger

Zündung anschalten, Traction Control Knopf drücken und was soll man dann mit dem Gaspedal machen?Durchdrücken?Bei mir funktioniert das leider gar nicht, mehrmals probiert.Kann jemand helfen?

So, basically you can drive in ECO mod while the exhaust is open?
yes but it is not open, its variable on the stock exhaust, depends on the throttle position. the MPE has an manual valve system, so its completly open on track setting also in Comfort mode .)

Not sure....have to try it. Traction Mode in the M550i is different compared to the "real" M cars.

Bestimmt. Die M-Performance Anlage ist ja nicht am CAN angeschlossen sondern bekommt separat Saft.

Wo ist denn jetzt der Vorteil? Die klappen gehen sind doch eh offen bei Last ? Oder versteh ich hier etwas falsch

ja. ist elekronisch programmiert und hat nichts mit der kupplungsposition zu tun.
Beaver 1002 und wie lange sind die Ventile geöffnet? Und wann schaltet das Programm wieder um?
Ich erwarte meinen LCI in einem Monat. :-) bin gespannt wie sich das anhört
du meinst die auspuffklappen? diese arbeiten stetig beim M2, schwierig zu sagen. unter last sind sie offen unter teillast auch zb in sport plus, wärend schleppmomenten sind sie zu. - sind extra in der nacht hinterhergefahren. aktiv sache dort. aber mit der perfomance anlage, kann ma, oder konnte man die klappen manuell öffnen bzw schliessen.. dies geht natürlich auch mit einem obd stecker und zb der bimmerapp. viel spass mit deinem F87. super kfz. bin in letzterzeit vieles gefahren: aber preis leistung echt gut beim f87. und lass dir nicht einreden er wäre langsam, das sind aussagen von neider. 0-100 ist nur im quartett wichtig ;)

Ho Yeung Shiu yes every time, when you have pressed it and the car is in traction mode the valves are open. When you switch on sport, down in comfort or turn it off the valves closes again

Ich hab so das gefühl bei meinem.
bei sport plus ist das ASD lauter deswegen erscheint dies so, defakto ist der traction mode bzgl schubblubbern am intensivsten.
