I would say that this was one of the best episodes of IB's Podcasts to date! The knowledge and insights shared by the guests were immensely valuable for someone who wants to enter this field and learn about what a day in the professional life of an investment banker looks like. Thank you so much for this wonderful episode, @kushal Lodha!
Would like to thank Kushal Lodha for organising such an insightful podcast. I mean in just a span of 2 hours i could get to know so much stuffs about IB . Had a reality check. Keep up the good work.

As someone who has passed CFA L2 but then pivoted away from the CFA program to pursue an MBA first, Nilesh's words about CFA not having value in India rung so true. I gave L2 in November 2022 and got a pass result in Jan but had such a difficult time finding decent roles in the industry. Not just investment banking but also other spaces asset management are extremely difficult to break into just with a CFA L2. I applied for almost 200 odd openings but heard back from none of them so I just decided to postpone taking L3 and prepare for CAT first in hopes of getting into a good MBA program which could help me break into the industry easier.
@@anjaliburad6028 I won't say it's not worth it but you have to understand the job market in India. The number of great finance roles are limited but there is intense competition. You'll have a CA, CFA, MBA, Engineering, BCom/ MCom graduate fighting for the same role which makes it difficult for you to stand out. Also Indian employers care wayyyyyy too much about labels. I've seen people from IITs with no qualifications in finance get good equity research roles over someone with proven knowledge of finance just cuz they don't have an IIT/IIM label. The CFA is much more valuable if you want to tap into other developed markets like US, EU or SE Asian markets. In India it's a 'good to have' not a 'must have'
@@vishalshinde8206I also thought the same but who are the iitians clearing interview like if they don’t know about finance . It’s the company’s loss anyway .
Hey Kushal..... Brilliant content....... Can you also host a podcast related to another emerging sector ,i.e., Asset Management and opportunities, scope, salaries, etc. Maybe if a podcast with Seasoned or Associate level Asset Managers might help provide an insight into the field. Thanks
@kushallodha, great insight into IB through this video. Although i was here to learn how a CA would enter IB role, Manthan never gave an answer about his journey. 1:14:05

Hi Khushal Bhaiya! Thanks for this amazing podcast for the students who want to get into IB! But I had one question that I'm currently in my first year of Bachelors of Financial Market (BFM) from Mithibai college and I'm plaaning to give my CFA level 1 in next year and my aim is to finish it around my graduation and then I'm planning to go for MBA in Finance from NMIMS and I'm currently doing courses such as Financial Modelling and I have done a few of NSE and NISM's courses. Would all of this land me into an Investment banking firm?
He is the one who gave most information. We got to know many processes because of him. And he didn't interrupt, he added a lot to what others were saying. It's people like him that makes these podcasts knowledgeable. If you can't be thankful, atleast don't call him irritating.

I think the reason of merger is that they can get an "large customer base" for both housing loans as well as for other banking facilities.

True..even I have experienced the same after L2
So are you saying CFA is not worth it at all? Or there are opportunities maybe outside India?

He was very insightful, he just did justice to why he was there.
He was insightful, the other guys were a bit introverted, he was talkative and extroverted so naturally the conversations were dominated by him.....
