This is really cool! I like the attention to actual coding concepts rather than just being a jumble of fancy sounding words. Though this is just a tad bit too fantastical to ever exist, it’s interesting and I can’t wait for part 2.

Amazing video. This is especially scary given that AI creators openly disucuss the fact that they don't know what it's doing anymore, and at this early stage. Even though they have all these ways to train it, they can't log / document what happens between the prompt and the result. They refer to it as a black box.
The godafther of AI, Hinton, knew he had to leave Google or any company in order to speak freely. It's such an early stage to not know how the AI is thinking as it's not like they'll start finding out as they advanced it, it'll be the opposite. The pause in development was somehow their realisation that the genie is out of the bottle. Scary days ahead
Sounds more like laymen news article headlines.. AI safety - good yes, guy left Google - yes, because there's lots of money involved for the company that can first and most leverage the advances in AI.
Blackbox scary, nobody knows "how ai thinks" - No. I won't go into detail, there's other *educational* videos on that topic but from what I got, yes AI learns pattern recognition differently than human, aka you can't explain a learning process that's different from ours, it's nothing scary, AI just doesn't follow human steps, and most news articles stop there and say "scientists don't know what it's thinking". Just good old clickbait.
Pause in development btw - called upon by people, many of who happen to gain a lot of money if other companies catch up to openAI.

Considering how common place and unrevealed technology has become, that topic is somehow more unnerving than any True Crime, Disaster Core, or Carnage Candy video I've ever watched...

@TransitionedToAShark okay let me rephrase this because people cannot understand English, JACK did the scam, BUT the disrupt team had nothing to do w it and had to practically let their boss try and scam millions, they eventually got him off the team but they never supported his actions in any way, and this amazing channel is being ruined by 1 scammer rep, I loved this channel and have been watching for years, so I'm a little defensive abt the facts being right.

Because its fiction . This never even happened, the biggest botnet had 250k machines not 1.2 million. there was also no botnet that ever incorporated chatbots. There was also never a botnet called "Sybil".

Me and my friend were just recently debating how likely a real world "skynet" type scenario is to happen, and I argued against it simply because nobody would actually do the things and make the mistakes people make in sci-fi movies. I still stand by that, none of these companies or the government are likely to plug a chatbot into the nuclear arsenal, give it the ability to write its own code and give it some loosely worded directive, but criminals? Who knows.

edit: I think that the script might also be created by ChatGPT. It has a few timeline inconsistencies that don't make sense, such as Sig9 taking interest in programming in 2022 and becomes the most prolific developer in a matter of weeks.
it is fictional, yes. the newer videos have had a more narrative direction to them as opposed to the older ones which were dramatized based on true stories. hope this helps
