I was thinkng something like them hijacking our motor skills kinda like this type of parasitic fungus does with tree ants. The parasite enters the ants brain, it think through the ant eating an infected leaf. The parasite takes over the ant's movement patterns. Sometimes the other ants realize what is happening and throw the ant out of the tree as so they can't get infected. The infected ant then looks for a high branch and clings on to it. While yes, a lot of games nowadays feel like simulations already and they will only get better and more realistic (especially with enhancements in VR) they can never be simulations. This is due to the fact that simulations are, or at least can be, finely tuned down to every minute detail, a game however cannot. A simulation can be monitored and then propagated in different situations the exact same way, without fail, even without control. This is due to the fact that they require nor take in no input. A game however, even if it doesn’t require input, has to intake input. And when an input comes into the equation, the equation may no longer be perfectly replicated, leading to mutation. By default mutation unmonitored will at some point lead to failure. And every input, creates a new chance for failure. With a new mutation. This is why simulations run smoothly, like a film. Transhumanism is a fallacy. It's taking a narrow strip of civilization, technology, and applying it to every aspect. Unless robot constructors lay down networks of its self supporting infrastructure, it won't happen for decades, or centuries. I still have deadzones outside town because the infrastructure for cell towers just isn't there. There are fucking towns where a computer is just a tool used to play CD games because there's no ISP for miles except the 5 mbps landline option.

Apply such micromanagment to enough parts of the world, and the illusion will be striking enough, or even too avanced already for the user to even notice most things.
Perfection, is not required. And never was.
._. I understood none of that but oh yeah that makes sense I haven’t thought about that that way good job
I think it was meant to be more of a metaphoric comparison. You're taking it awfully literally.
Games aren't literal simulations, but in many ways, they're similar to them.
This is scary, man. Just the way I like it
According to Ahoy, the first video game was Strachey's Draughts. He made pretty good documentary around this topic.
That’s one of the reasons runners in Cyberpunk Red can still see the meatspace while running with their headset, so they know what they’re doing and where they’re going in the meatspace
can we talk about how good this is presented and how they hook your intrest
I would binge this if it was on hulu
@Alfie the man likes hulu
0:54 Well that sux. I’m in a wheelchair, and need to artificially offset my height just to reach/see most stuff in VR! 😂😉
@Bright cloud Annoying, ain’t it? I remember first loading up Steam VR and finding the Star Wars cantina environment, but when I approached the bar it was like “Oh come on! I’m still short in VR?!!” 😆

The thought that Disrupt might have almost used my hacker 4chan recreation when searching for hacker videos on TH-cam blows my mind.
Who is this “Four Chan”? Are they Russian?
@mango Thank you
@@clicheguevara5282 The last I heard it was Biden.
wtf you actually made this video? It's probably the most famous hacker gif
Mind hacks, suggestions, hypnosis, drugs and sounds are virtually already a reality.
I’m sure these thoughts haven’t even occurred to 95% of the general population watching this lol.
You probably just gave people ideas with this video 😂😂😂
Wether this video happened or not, the same thing or something similar was bound to happen.

Also using geolocation and sending a “physical attacker” toward you in the hopes you fall into a subway etc
so clever with the way you input your ads. and out of 100 videos with ads, i skip 98 of them. i dont skip yours. im so glad i found this channel.
I was un-subbed from you for some reason, just rediscovered your incredible channel, so fk TH-cam. Anyway...
Just want to comment on how incredible your videos are. Most videos and video essays merely play in the background while I do something else. I find myself sitting forwards in my desk chair with rapt attention at the beautifully created masterpiece of things I've feared in passing and then forgotten about... and then I watch it again just to analyze the cuts and edits, the cadence of your voice, the pacing. I recommend you often, although most of my friends tell me to "stop panicking" and that the world won't "end in a blazing fire of digital technological evil".
We'll see who has the last laugh.
You, sir, are running one of the best channels on TH-cam and you deserve WAY more subs than you have. Liked, subbed, bell has been clicked.
(I swear to hell, TH-cam, if you remove this channel from my subscriptions just ONE more time...)
And then there is vr chat where you meme around and look under other peoples skirt
That's just the beginning
4:21 vrchat hackers already do that
“Man our clever humor lives in a maze... a deep deep dark maze” - Shakey Graves
you’re the only youtuber i watch that when an ad comes up i watch the whole thing because of how good this is
the kid at the end explaining his first experience with VR also perfectly described how it feels to lucid dream (at least for me). Thank you for having me

Someone should make a movie about some of these! Like the AR glasses one
You are so flawless in presenting all this. MY GOD! I never comment on videos like that but I had to let you know you’re doing great things and I knew I had to immediately subscribe. The way you present information really clicks with me
Love the 360 camera so fitting!
Ok but wait what's the next step??? I have the cheese on the plate now what??
So, I'm still a transhumanist at heart, however I never want any augment I may get to have wifi connection. Fuck that. I'm not connecting my body to the internet.

@@sanjaynagarimadugu6108 Imagine if it was handled by Bethesda then you would die from getting stuck in a door
There are fucking towns where a computer is just a tool used to play CD games because there's no ISP for miles except the 5 mbps landline option.
nice Mastodon pfp
I’m too high for this
The way you use that 360 camera is stunning.
Getting into cyber security. I absolutely loved this video. Helps me realize All the ways any system could be hacked and to constantly be following that train of thought. Thank you. Amazing work.
Aint ever been so confused in the opening
What happened to, "Earth's Deadliest [Computer] Virus"? That was one of my favorite videos on TH-cam :(
Copyright claims are the worst, and that's what killed the virus video :(
@@imkuat Saw him post that earlier today, rip
I used to play a lot of vr, so I found a few interesting things. One of the more interesting were certain skins in the vr game vr. Chat. These characters had certain types of functions, some had the ability to play loud sounds and flashing lighs. Others had the ablity to crash peoples games when you activated a certain emote. Some even had the ability to crash the computer of some people, it was all fun, but the got deleted of my saved character liste one day.
Still happens all the time and is a plague in sleep worlds. People come there to fulfill a need they lack IRL, of feeling there is someone else around, that they are not alone...Just to be trolled, wake up panicked then shamed like if they were some freaks. Ironically enough, the only ones not respecting boundaries, nor using common sense, running around while yelling hysterically are the trolls themselves! Meanwhile, the sleepers "vote to kick" them in a civilised manner. Rince and repeat, everyday.
i knew i recognized that opening! snowcrash is one of my favorite books

I love how you put the script placed within view of the camera when the fisheye and panning effects happen. That's a cool touch.
It’s amazing that this “hack” was also done in the movie Ready Player One. You thought you were out of the virtual world but you still had your headset on.
I was really looking forward to finding out how to melt cheese in a microwave.
Put the cheese in a bowl, microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring each time, do this until melted. This also works for melting chocolate.
