Dear Mark and Janice, thank you for your love and care, for raising two wonderful boys, one of whom made it possible for us to learn about you in Russia. You are real people with God in your soul. Let your family be accompanied by prosperity and your boys will give you the same pretty grandchildren. I don't know anything about Andrew, but Alex is still free as a bird.

Sasha. I wanted to add about your parents who are so selfless people and really love you and your other brother intensively. As the saying goes, "If You Love Someone, Set Them Free. If They Come Back They’re Yours!" I really believe, they love people in general. May God keep give them long lives, good health, and also to your birth parents as well! Slava!

You know, your New Zealand parents are very supportive but as parents it is very difficult to share kids that they have raised for almost 2 decades. Very fine balance to maintain and really needs loads of patience without creating any insecurities.

My husband and I are considering adopting international. We’re still not sure how we will grow our family. But I have to say, thank you for sharing your journey!! I’ve been listening to many adoptees stories on TH-cam. It’s interesting to hear all the different perspectives on being adopted. Your parents are really an inspiration. I love their positive attitudes, and willingness to support you even if that takes you far away.
P.s If we do end up adopting internationally one day, I will try my very best to get them in language school or a tutor early on so they can speak to their birth families one day. ❤️
    Much love from Michigan!

A very happy time for you & obviously for your Kiwi family. So ourselves (kiwi) when my hubby & I wanted to adopt a daughter in NZ, around 1980's (hard) so we were asked to foster but in this situation families did keep children among themselves. Especially Maori families which is what I am, preference - ages 10 to young adults in this period we fostered about 15 children & had two permanents till they left school - got a job & left home. We fostered for 11-12yrs hubby hurt back at work so I declined fostering & took time to help hubby back to good health. I love the fact that you are happy Alex & obviously got two wonderful parents so - kiakaha be strong & happy.

So much admiration for the Russian government for looking after orphans so lovingly. And definitely to your Mum and Dad for how they raised you and their support. I'm a Mom, and I must admit I'd be fine with my adopted child searching but a bit scared and perhaps jealous too. Janice is obviously the most selfless lady and without a bit of worry about who your "Mum" is!

Glad I found your channel, loving your videos! In our family (we are also Kiwi) we have four adopted from Russia! Two aunties and uncles adopted two each from Russian orphanages. It is interesting how unique each adoptee journey is. I don't know how all four of my cousins feel but one of them I know has no desire to track his bio family. It seems one will either gravitate to understaning their bio parents struggles and wanting to include them into a bigger and wider family or one can feel dismissive/indifferent to the bio family and not consider them relevant to their life. I think it's amazing how you are learning Russian which isn't an easy language so that you can better connect with your Russian side and translate between Russian and Kiwi family! I love how both sides show such appreciation and gratitude to one another. Your biological father has a lovely smile and seems like a warm person. I love that you have been able to forge a special relationship with him and his family and your little sister. All the best with your future adventures.

I know your Mum and Dad are so proud of you. I can see the joy you have brought to your biological parent's. Your adventure would make a great movie. It would inspire so many. Thank you for sharing. You have such an amazing parents really. ♥️ It can be hard for them to support you the way they do in finding your birth parents (and accept this whole situation) but they absolutely put your needs on the first place🙏 You are really lucky to have them.
I think your birth mother did the best that she could at that time, and recognise she wasnt able to take care of you and left you at the orphanage was the best option compare to raising you in bad circumstances. There was joy in her eyes when you both met. Lots of guilt and shame also, but she accepted to meet you and share some joyful time with you. I am glad that ive heard your story and wish you and your family the best!

And the mutual respect and love and admiration that are shown, is beautiful to see.you are a fortunate guy Alex, and so, the ones that sorround you. Success and happiness for you, in your life’s journey. A big hello from your followers in frigid Rhode Island, USA. 😀

Merry Christmas, Alex and family! Alex, you are a fine young man who is teaching us so much. You will do a world of good. One of the things you teach us is the beauty of adoption done right. I’m happy for your enlarged family, and very glad that Mama Tatiana has an angel watching over her: you, her only son. Your character, upbringing and professional training ensure that you will positively impact many lives. Take good care of yourself; so many people love and look up to you. I look forward to your next videos.

Hi Alex! This year i chose a russian band to lead me through this difficult winter. They should have sung at the european song contest which was cancelled because of covid.
Perhaps you know them already, i'm sure, you will enjoy them.
I recommend: little big: "Uno" and "Hypnodancer".
    And all the other songs.
They also made a vlog about a concert in Archangelsk, i will post it later.

Sorry, i cant find it at the moment.
On youtube you can also find iLichshow, the vlogs of the frontman, which are good for learning russian and funny. And vlogs from others of that group.

I was adopted on 3 different occasions all of them fell apart because well in my mind extremely poor social work from being bullied from the first family’s older kids to physical violence and eventually being told we don’t want you your too old at 9 years of age in the end I told my social worker never ever put me through that again and stayed in care for the rest of my childhood

in the 90s after the collapse of the USSR, there were difficult times for Russia. I'm wondering how things are with adoption in Russia today ? in my opinion this is no longer possible after the cases when children were killed in American families.
