I was absolutely in love with Neo Geo in the 90s. I talked about it everyday in school and made everyone sick of hearing about it. I remember saving up for a used AES and only had Samurai Shodown I and II then I was broke. Now I have 2 Super Neo 29 candy cabs, but I don’t have the AES since it’s too expensive. I think I might snatch one of these so I can play on another TV. Thanks for the awesome video bro!!
@@RetroRalph Yeah, but think of it this way, if you get a retro tink and add the name in a YT video talking about it and doing a demo, I believe it should really get your content out there. I would like to see how this does on a original arcade monitor compared to a LCD monitor using the same game because what I understand is that IT will now create a almost perfect match as using a CRT Monitor, Now that would be awesome! We would no longer have to use CRTs as a LCD or better a OLED to get a almost perfect picture of a CRT on a LCD for the first time! Hopefully in time the prices will drop because I would use this in every arcade running a LCD or OLED.! Yeah, I would get one as it's part of what you do and you could really make some extra content showing this thing off! Maybe they will even give you a discount!
I modded a MV1C arcade board into a console using the Open MVS kit. The video quality is amazing. But I really like the case and set up of this one. Looks a lot better than those early Omega kits. How would you or anyone compare this to the video quality of the Open MVS mod?
I would like to see is a memory card slot. i have the old super gun version and a modified AES both with terraonion flash carts. It came unibios 4.0 (not socketed) and a battery holder which is nice. The battery cap is a cost cutting measure. It was done in the original xbox. These caps leak badly after time and will destroy the board. 161 in 1 carts are junk. But its a cheap alternative.
It would be pretty sick to make a Neo Geo cabinet around this. I’m assuming those usbs can be used for encoder boards to run buttons and sticks off of?
I love NEO GEO and I will instaclick anything I see with that. I’ve got an Arcade Stick Pro and the old NEO GEO X, but it would be amazing to know I have authentic arcade speeds. This looks really cool and tempts me to finally try to own some real NG hardware at home, even though it’s hard to spend that kind of money. Some of these CMVSes seem to be getting cheaper and closer to attainable though! My caveat is that I don’t have a good TV for those video outputs. I need an affordable HDMI CMVS.
I had one of these long time ago but it always had voltage issues and not sure if it was the 161 and 1 cart or the console. I ended up selling it. Neo Geo emulation is so prevalent now it is easier for me.
@@ultraspinalki11 glitches and issues while playing the games. I think it was the 161 and 1 cart but I couldn’t test because I didn’t have another mvs cart. Is this a reproduction board, or did they actually rip out an MVS board from an old Neo Geo cabinet? How many MVS cabinets were lost to mass produce these things?
they arent mass produced the cabs are being saved the motherboards are pulled from systems that have failed monitors/have been decomissioned for safety issues etc the mvs-1b board is visible in other teardown videos, they just print a modified supergun pcb and drop it in +a ribbon cable or two😅
I have a hylo hacked MVS X, Arcade Stick Pro and Mini Neo Geo. For my interest these play just like I remember them from the arcades. Are these roms really inferior to doing this consolized MVS??
Got the MVSX as well as a consolized MVS from AliExpress. The big difference for me is the ability of the consolized MVS to play on a Sony CRT. Guess both Systems run perfectly but the cheap MVSX LCD just looks Inferior to me.
actual NEO*GEO stuff is definitely a little bit out of my price range, *but* I will say this setup looks really cool, definitely looks nice no matter what route you're going with it. (also I hate whatever they did to the lifebars in samsho 4... definitely causes a lot of visual issues trying to capture video or stream it... I never understood it!!)
@@RetroRalph all good thanks. Just doing another re org of the arcade here and trying to put my attack from mars pin back to stock after putting the god forsaken intec deck in it 😂
if you press and hold START before power on your console, you active the Pick'n Mix option, then you presse A+B to select a game on the list, and release a+b to switch to this game ! (that's a awesome feature on this unibios 4.0 and 161in1 ) And for the AES/MVS systeme, i prefere the ORTHROS MVS set, i think it's a more durable solution :)
Yes, it's a repro case with a Neo Geo MV1-B board and a custom PCB to and supportability for NEO GEO AES controllers and USB controllers as well as some of the video output options.
You need to stare at it intently, right where the board is supposed to be. Depending on the earths rotation at the time staring is initiated, the process takes anywhere between 10sec and eternity. (roughly).
think of it like a demo cart some of the games are crashing before the credits, glitches, errors, missing sound etc its to help you CHOOSE which cart u want 😂
Holy crap, it did? Do you mind me asking how? That’s pretty scary considering I’ve had mine plugged in and on for a month now in my office. I have a xenocrisis cart in it and just play when I have time but I’m trying to save my progress. 😬
@RetroRalph it was turned off and I heard a pop, looked down and smoke started pouring out of the unit ruining my kof 2000 cart by burning a hole in the chip. Voltage was entering the ground and fried it all. Awful experience and could have burnt my house down if I wasn't asleep 😕
@@Kevinwoolford123 Holy crap man 😦 I’m sorry this happened. While I can say I’ve had some quality issues with stuff from AliExpress , I’ve never had something like this happen, that’s scary man. Thank you for the heads up, that’s obviously a major major concern. 😬

I think they send the decals separately for copyright reasons, SNK could sue them for selling a product with their logo printed.
Good point 👍🏻 I wasn’t even thinking about that.
