  • Join us, Carol & Ken as we leave our little red Nissan NV200 campervan at home and take a trip to Devon, staying in a couple of AirBnBs. In this episode it’s a misty start to the day in Brixham, the third largest fishing port in the UK. We see the new fish market and the replica of Drake’s Golden Hind and enjoy plenty of people watching.

    1:59, the fishmonger with the beard and glasses an cap on back to front is a long time friend of mine. Good footage, used to live and work in Brixham for 5 years or so, and was a chef in the Quayside, along with Tides cafe.

    Wonderful drone photography of the harbour, the prawn and crab sandwiches looked amazing. The fish market reminds me of the market in Sydney, wonderful fish and fruit/vegetable produce. Happy Boxing Day 😄🚐

    We have fond memories of Brixham. Such a pretty place. Always good to know where the loos are! Changed a lot since we were last there. Enjoyed the drone views through the mist. Interesting history about the slipway. Do like fresh doughnuts. Crabbing looked like fun 👍😊

    Merry Christmas, from Canada! That is a very exciting video for me. My cousin Jayne, owns an ice cream shop at the harbour. You may have gotten your doughnuts from her. You did a nice job videoing the harbour, dispite the mist. Well done.

    Brixham from the air was beautiful. All those houses stacked neatly together fighting for a view of the bay. I find myself people watching too the older I get. I ask myself, “where are all these people going? What’s their story?” I’m glad the foggy conditions changed for you. Off to sleep for me. By til next time. Mary

      @maryg.249 I don’t think it’s an age thing to people watch….🙂
      My partner and I have been together 26 years and we have been watching people since we got together. ( I’m 50 now)
      We make our own stories of the people we watch ….
      Most entertaining.

    Your dead right about the parking there. We always used to end up down the side of the Harbour and it looks like that new fish market is built on what used to be parking too. The last time we ventured down into Brixham along with the Golden Hind they had the Mathew replica and an old sort of sloop done up as a pirate ship. It's got to have been getting on for twenty years ago or maybe over that. It always made me wonder why so many folks actually went there as young families usually go for places like Paignton and Torquay. I'm definitely with you on sitting with a nice beverage and a piece of cake, watching the grockles go by though. 🤣

      I think you are right about that new fish market taking over a car park. The Matthew replica is now at Bristol 🙂

    Lovely episode. Ken you certainly match the American stereotype of cops and their beloved donuts! The joke here is that if you see a cop speed by with lights and siren then the donut shop must have a fresh batch.

      The joke here is that his fish and chips are getting cold 😁👍. One of the worst habits I developed whilst in the police was eating my food too quickly. You never knew when you would get a call so you wolfed it down when you got it. So many meals got abandoned over the years due to calls but we never minded. 😁👍

    We spent a week in Brixham a few years back, loved it! We enjoyed the history of the harbour too, especially the link to the US forces, which is similar to those on Portland Bill, have you visited there? Was nice to see Brixham from the air, thank you for sharing 😁

    That was nice! I enjoyed the look of Brixham and paused the video to look it up. Great location and even found a Coach House I could afford. If traveling around in my little (relative) bus is not for me, it’ll be the UK or France for me. Brixham has just made the list, although the Coach House will be long gone. Doesn’t matter as there were a couple of options and there will be again. Great video! Did you get your crab sandwich? Or did you call it done with doughnuts?

    Oh my, I haven't ran across this beautiful channel in 2 yrs and I used to watch all of your videos EVERYday 😅 as I was in a very dark place 😢 and you guys didn't know it BUT I had adopted you both as my parents/grands 😊 I have been very blessed & honored to be able to "be a part of" genuinely good hearted people's beautiful adventures. I discovered your channel merely by accident during my obsession with Ireland and ever since we hit it off like peas and carrots 😉 Anyways, as a mommy of a 5 yr old who was in a very dark and gloomy place, i just want to thank you guys for giving me hope for me and my precious boy as our family has been very, let's just say full of pain and often times that gets pushed out on anyone who truly believes in Jesus Christ bc the enemy wants to keep everyone from believing in the one true living God of this universe & all creation therefore anyone who truly lives in Christ is a target 🎯 of the enemy BUT GOD showed up and showed OUT as He will if we give Him permission. My point is to say, that I have FINALLY found the real living God..the One Who still works today and is much more than the "coloring book" "worked miracles in the bible days" God through His Holy Spirit and I want to ask you all to seek the supernatural God of this world and collect *all* the evidence without stopping @ the "Jesus" mainstream Christianity teaches...they (whether knowingly or not) do not preach & teach the FULL Gospel... therefore the power of the Holy Spirit is absent & it's all merely figments, symbols & metaphors...but the REALity is there is a REAL God & a REAL enemy, a REAL heaven & REAL hell 🔥. There is truly a fight for our souls and you beautiful people were a part of what God used to save me from so much darkness so I wanted to bless you back. Lord, do what only You can do, here for Your glory in Jesus name & bless them with a powerful encounter with Your Holy Spirit in Jesus name🎁👑🦁✨🐪🐑🐄🕊️☝️✝️🤲🙌 peace and blessings, friends. Have a Merry & Happy CHRiSTmas!

      So let me see if I understand you correctly. Your all knowing, all seeing, all powerful God, created beings, screwed up when creating them, and because he doesn't like what he created, he destroyed them two times, and still can't get it right, so he tortures them for all eternity? How exactly are you going to sell THAT to people who use their brains?
