I've gotten to your channel from your css mapping videos adding buttons but you have only ever increased your quality over the years.
To be fair, it's more that other people put no effort into the sound of their videos. It's not hard to level volume properly in audio, and that suffices in 90% of cases, but people just don't have the basic floor of knowledge to properly implement that into their videos, including quite influential people. Phillip does do a good job at it, maybe because of his experience making music.
2:06 I think the barrels are supposed to be raised up and down externally, using a rope or pulley. However there isn't really a good point to hang the rope over. It would make sense if there were a hoisting beam like you find on many houses in Amsterdam.
The thing that surprised me the most about both Italy and Inferno (the maps) is how well they capture the feeling of Italy (the country). The beta colours, I think, didn't really match up with my expectation but the final ones absolutely do. It is impressive just how many iterations Valve makes on the maps before release. I prefer many of the leaked and trailer versions over the ones we got, like you mentioned the church, but I also feel like having the above-ground cemetery is a lot more interesting. I also prefer having the shops tucked into the wall instead of sticking out. It's a shame that so many concessions have to be made for competitiveness.
with every new CS entry there are game specific new maps introduced, what I want to see is a new map made for CS 2 that isn't a remake or remastered version of an already existing map but a map made entirely from scratch, something we haven't seen so far and I know valve will create an awesome map
I'll just live with the feeling that unlike everyone else, I like the more "yellowy" style in the leaks and trailer, where sunshine feels brighter and shadowy places felt actually dark.
Me too, the bright grey released colour schemes are a bit migraine-ish, although the new lighting and everything itself is fantastic EDIT: Just got a access to beta, it's blinding but not nearly as blinding when actually in a match
From a purely artistic view, I agree. But with gameplay in mind I think the soft colours and bright shadowy parts will contrast really well against the player models even in the worst cases. We have to think upcoming player model skins here too.
My monitors absolute lowest brightness setting is still pretty high so Im pretty sure playing source 2 is going to make my eyes hurt, especially in late night gaming sessions in the dark. Guess I will have to do some tweaking in nvidia control panel for this game.

Perhaps there had been some hiccups in the communication between them on how the design flow should’ve been? Either way, the first time you notice it, you can’t unsee it and that kinda ruins the immersion of the map.

When cs2 first got teased, and we got remasters such as overpass, I was worried that cs2’s art style was going to go to a cleaner, far less rough and lived in aesthetic, and the releases of Italy and most especially inferno have thwarted those worries. There’s life to inferno, from the randomly tilted shutters to the chipped and stained brick walls, the loose cigarettes and garbage on the ground and occasional faded paint or dusted window, it all feels real and used in the same way that made me fall in love with source’s more raw and detail oriented art style back in csgo. This is just that turned up to 11, as proven by inferno, and I’m all for it!

As long as they don't de_dust it! We've had quite enough of the sand theme for one lifetime. Anubis only gets away with it by being the Egyptian counterpart to Ancient's (ie de_aztec2) Maya ruins.
Dust and Nuke already got their remakes but in CSGO though I do wish they got completely remade anyway. Mirage was always one of the better maps despite how old it was but would probably be the best candidate for a overhaul treatment

I think you're just used to CSGO imo that game was drab as fuck lol. How bright CS2 is does make enemies stick out way easier so being able to see them is improved. I personally like the brighter colors but I can see why some don't

Valve nailed it with the outstanding remake of Inferno. Didn't pay attention that much to the leaked/early screenshots but the results are awesome nevertheless.
I find it crazy how much work goes into making one map by valve. The leaked versions models already looked nice but they nearly changed every model again. I wouldnt even be able to make the decision which model could be upgraded because they looked nice for me to begin with.

CS2 is about to be massive. What a time to be alive.
That l4d3 joke hurt philip 😢 Im still holding out hope we'll get it someday..
As long as they don't de_dust it! We've had quite enough of the sand theme for one lifetime. Anubis only gets away with it by being the Egyptian counterpart to Ancient's (ie de_aztec2) Maya ruins.
I'm addicted to your videos
one thing (of many) i'd like to praise source 2 about is it's water, it's definitely some of the best water i've ever seen in any game
The irony that there are all these maps from Italy while Italy has no scene in cs :(
I barely play csgo anymore but I enjoy your breakdowns of new map and random stuff very enjoyable mate keep em up ❤
i actually love the pastel version they released, its so freakiung cute looking
great video as always. but I specifically came here to voice my appreciation specifically for the title for this video - chef’s kiss 🤌
I hope they give the rest of the maps the Overpass/Inferno treatment and get them a facelift. Mirage, Dust and Nuke are showing their age
Dust and Nuke already got their remakes but in CSGO though I do wish they got completely remade anyway. Mirage was always one of the better maps despite how old it was but would probably be the best candidate for a overhaul treatment
The changes they made to it shows that they do see us over on reddit and twitter.
Definitley a lot more than some of us think
one thing that i absolutely started to hate about cs2 is how incredibly bright it is, no matter what settings i use the contrast will always make it almost impossible to see for me.
I think you're just used to CSGO imo that game was drab as fuck lol. How bright CS2 is does make enemies stick out way easier so being able to see them is improved. I personally like the brighter colors but I can see why some don't
@@ADreamingTraveler i literally can't See shit because of how bright it is
try calibrating your monitor. most monitors are way to bright and contrasty by default@@void7837
@@void7837 r_fullscreen_gamma 2.5-3 helps a lot, try it out
they need to crank up that global illumination bounce
I really can't with the flashbang white colors, I really hope it can be tweaked with a tone/gamma settings. Burns my eyes.
I wish they would still put more colour and warm colours. Both sites are really bright and white
old B site looked so much cooler
This is such a beautiful redesign that I’m disappointed that this wasn’t the standard for all of the source 2 editions of maps
While the new maps are quite beautiful, they are bright and white to the point where I actually feel like I'm staring straight into radiation from the sun.
Yeah can't see map details properly
earned a like for the france comment
I just feel like all of these maps are so bright. It's kinda painful on the eyes to me.
Valve nailed it with the outstanding remake of Inferno. Didn't pay attention that much to the leaked/early screenshots but the results are awesome nevertheless.
4:55 I am taking this as a confirmation Valve ARE in fact working on Left 4 Dead 3
I find it crazy how much work goes into making one map by valve.
The leaked versions models already looked nice but they nearly changed every model again. I wouldnt even be able to make the decision which model could be upgraded because they looked nice for me to begin with.
I hope that for the final release we get inferno with the old color palette
that truck driver is totally still in there
2:05, Italy is left-hand-drive, and the left door wasn't blocked :DD
I hate how BRIGHT it is god damn it almost looks like there's no shadows at all 💀 also old yellow version looked more stylized and unique like italy, just saying
Agreed
The new inferno looks so good it's honestly overwhelming, it looks like half life alyx
