Was watching a video on Final Fantasy VII Remake that ended with Cloud's "You owe me a pizza" line. This was the next video in my queue, and it starts with a pizza. Thank you for giving Cloud his pizza, Stephen.
Sleepless in Raleigh, a less well remembered rom-com. Glad you were eventually able to get some sleep. I have never knowingly had Covid, and my main worry about having it has also been losing sense of taste - but the post-omicron variants are much less likely to do that fortunately.
I've never had covid (aggressively knocking on wood), and I've never lost my sense of smell or taste like you can if you have a cold or the flu, I've heard. I dunno, again, never had that happen. But I'm sure that if it _did_ happen, it'd freak me the balls out and I would probably be very stress-depressed about it. I can't even imagine what that'd be like. Yikes. Yeah.
Don't stress it if you end up with it, radio. I had it once, and I got rid of it after a week, and I was a high risk patient, as I have asthma. But it seems like you have a good immune system, so it doesn't seem likely.
I had Covid and it messed up my system good. I’ve never been able to sleep well, but after Covid I started to have what you’re describing. Sleep for a couple hours, be up for a couple hours. It got so bad I was just passing out with no warning throughout the day. I was even scared to drive. I ended up doing a sleep study and I figured I’d get diagnosed with sleep apnea, but the specialist told me there has been a spike of people needing sleep therapy after Covid because of lung damage. So insomnia is real. I’m not trying to armchair diagnose or anything, just describing my experience. I also know from streams that you’ve been kidnapped a few times to get better sleep so I sincerely hope it’s gotten better. If it doesn’t get better in a couple months I’d consider getting a sleep study, but only if it gets really bad.
y'know, i'm actually kinda glad these vlogs are behind because i know via breakfast stream that you're feeling better. i think if these were current i would be a lot more worried for you. regardless- sorry you had to deal with this, and glad that you seem to be through the worst of it!
You're fortunate in not having that symptom. That was one way I knew for sure before testing that I had it when I did... and I spent a few weeks afterwards being paranoid of that loss of sense returning. And trust me, I believe you when you say "if I could, I would." And working at least feels like it's accomplishing something, which is always good
Strangely enough, I got sick around the same time that you did (only just recently started feeling better), but the entire time I've had the worst insomnia of my entire life. Only just started sleeping through the night, mostly, this week. Definitely understand this struggle.
The absolute irritation at the end of the vlog was kinda scary. Makes complete sense though and I don't blame you at all for it. I'm also glad you guys never lost your sense of taste during this!! I lost mine when I had covid in October for 3-4 days and it was BIZARRE
Nothing wrong with working on stuff if you can't sleep. In a way that can make you feel better because it's productive. I hope you've been able to sleep better since this vlog.
I lost most of my sense of taste and smell for two days when I had COVID and it was terrifying. I'm a foodie and the prospect of never getting it back fully was scary, but I did! Praise be. I'm glad Stephen is much better now.
I've had Covid twice. First time was bad. Literally was bed ridden for 3 or 4 days and just slept mostly the first couple of days. Lots of coughing and a sore throat. Was extremely nervous as I am asthmatic but thankfully it didn't affect that too much (my breathing did go down a bit but it wasn't extreme and it was expected with the coughing etc). Took ages for me to test negative too. Like I was feeling good after a week but it took me a full 2 weeks to test negative. Second time was really weird. Was literally just like a bad cold. Barely noticed I had it tbh. I had a slightly sore throat and runny nose mainly but barely any coughing etc and felt mostly normal. So I just stayed indoors really and waited it out. Haven't had it in a good while now thankfully
I had covid 2 years ago and ill never forget it. Started with the prickly spider crawing in the throat and within 24 hours, i could barely walk. I apparently passed out on the deck letting my dog out the first morning. No recollection with how i got there. I also lost my peripheral vision somehow. Its still fuzzy to this day, but at least i can see 😅 Wish the chronic migraines would go away through. Thats been fun.... Oddly enough, covid "cured" my mom's vertigo. It came back about a month post-covid, so that was weird (its gone again now fortunately)
Man, last 2 times I got Covid, I did lose my sense of taste, AND smell. Both times, it lasted for almost a week after the rest of my symptoms went away. It was awful.
As a fellow food lover, the absolute worst symptom I caught with covid was the loss of smell and taste. I was fortunate enough to regain my smell after about a week, but I have relatives who got sick with covid and STILL haven’t gotten their taste or smell back, now years later at this point. It’s the one thing I’m most paranoid about if/when I ever end up getting sick with it again.
My father-in-law lost his taste to covid 2 years ago and it never came back, I fear that so bad! Fortunately I never got Covid, knock on all the wood lol. Hope you guys are both better and doing well by now!
Appropriate that this is being posted the day after National* Get An Hour Less Of Sleep Night * except Arizona and Hawaii I also had COVID recently, and I guess I got lucky that I only slept a bit worse than usual (as opposed to other times I've gotten sick and slept _way_ worse than usual; also "usual" for me probably isn't very good).

You need to buy some pizza at this point.

His sleep has gotten much better! No more recent kidnappings for him :)

Insomnia suuuuuuuucks! Good vibes. My mom had minor taste alteration. My dad is still dealing with severe taste alteration

Cant confirm this, but my mother said that trying to sniff rubbing alcohol helped wake up her sense of smell.

The only time I had covid, I couldnt taste for 3 weeks. Those were the saddest 3 weeks of my life lol

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12
You could try working out as much as your body will allow, too. That might help
TH-cam Please 🥺🙏
