    Fits the following:
    1964-65 Falcon
    1964-65 Ranchero
    1964-65 Comet
    This Quick Ratio steering gear box is brand-new, not rebuilt-no core required.
    This 16:1 ratio box is 3.75 turns lock-to-lock, greatly improving response, performance, and drivability over the original 20:1 ratio box (which is almost 5 turns lock-to-lock); and it features a correct 1-piece 39" input shaft and 1-1/8" sector shaft.

    Oh darnit!! I purchased the mustang box fir the falcon and indeed it's too long. Rats. But thanks for the heads up prior to me installing and finding out the hard way.

    Nice upgrade! I really wanted the RRS rack but my budget allowed the new Drake quick ratio manual box (along with the Open Tracker Racing suspension). Just don’t forget to install the new box before the engine goes back in (it was a PITA with the engine in 😉).

      Good point we'll hit that in the video where the box and steering go back in.

    My box was good so I shortened the shaft 2". Double D sliders can be installed to make it a collapsible column.
    If you want a faster ratio you can use the old GT350 trick. Lengthen the pitman arm and idler arm one inch.
    👍😎

      Steering wheels with less dish or even zero dish are readily available at less than $100.

      I agree it needs to be collapsible.

      Honestly, the DD's only slow the spear down, they don't stop it.

    Hey Jeff, what is the little cotter pin for that goes through the center of the head of the fill plug? My original does not have a hole like these units. A vent of some kind? Why a cotter pin?

    If I have the less desirable drag link and tie rod ends on my 64 falcon, what parts do I need to buy to replace them? Thank you

      I found it on the net, but it is probably in the Ford Master Parts Catalog.

    Is there a front clip kit I could install on a falcon that would allow me to put a big block in it

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  ปีที่แล้ว

      RRS-USA.com offers a strut and brake kit and shock tower notching that allows for big blocks. Full discosure, my wife is the US sales rep.

    Do they make one for a 66 falcon/ranchero (fairlane and maybe galaxy)?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No way. You have to find a good used box or you have to have your Box rebuilt by a competent company. I recommend Chockstang.

    Plan on removing your engine if you are replacing the steering box, it can't be done with the engine in the car.

      I have a 1962 Ford falcon that is converted to a 1984 5.0 motor so will I also have to have my motor taken out to replace my gear box?

    • @markhoff5205
      @markhoff5205 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did it without pulling the engine but it would be Much easier and quicker to pull it.
      The steering shaft is part of the gearbox and is too long to remove.
