Thanks for that, still not flooded the lawns at The Moorings (I’m moored down there) and Pilling’s gauge is reading steady at the moment. Thank goodness there was some slack in the system this time around and it didn’t fall on saturated ground.
Thank you for your video/s The are very useful. Hope you have tall Welly boots for the next few days. I have a boat in the marina, which I have decided to sell, it's been my project for the last 4 years.

thanks. 10.22 can someone please explain the thinking behind spending £ on spray paint and then making a purposeful journey to somewhere to apply it to a public building in a clone like inartistic way? because to me it seems like the human equivalent of dogs having to wee on lamp posts, trees etc., as they pass by announce their presence in the area. nothing more.
We used to row coxed fours between Rothley and Sileby Mill. Once, our four got sucked towards a weir at Sileby Mill, my oar rammed the wall and catapulted me out of the boat and into the river. I became extremely ill.
Hi, hard to say really, normally get a drop of rain but this downpour went on, and on, and on, river has now burst its bank as I drove past this morning, just 16 hours after this was filmed.
No this is early. Flooding of the rivers/canals usually happens around January to February time. I myself lost a boat on the river ouse in February this year
Nice video but not everyone thinks dogs are lovely. A lot of people in Britain are obsessed with owning them. I really don’t understand why they want the responsibility of looking after them. Much easier without. It would add nothing to my life, a nuisance in fact. Feeding, walking, cleaning up after them. Nope, I don’t get it. I have freedom without a dog.
Thanks for the update on the canal and river, I hope all the boaters have secured their boats well this time and none get free
As of 6am (Monday) the river has burst its bank along this entire length
Doesn't matter how well moored if a jetty breaks free
New subscriber, very interesting, thank you for filming 😊
@@SharonRose-d4i Thank you.
Huge thank you for the update.
Hopefully everyone will stay safe down there
Thank you
I live in sorrel, Same as each year, Only a small river that doesn’t take much to burst its banks.

yes, seems to have passed on this one, went to The Moorings this morning (Monday) and all looked ok
I lived in Quorn for 20 years until 2019 and these scenes are all too familiar. Great video.
@@thebrowns1017 Thanks, just nipping back there now see how things are.

Thanks for keeping us informed buddy.
No problem 👍
My families boats was mored Sawley for many years. That area is scary under flood.
I have one there at the moment.
How scary must it be on a canal boat when it's serious flooding!?
very interesting!!
Thanks.
so it was you i saw at the Moorings this morning. I'm in one of the boats down there
Yes, just doing an update, not too bad there but really getting quite deep around Slash Lane area.
@@NarrowboatSuperB just been Sileby mill as well to pick up some gas. Small world
I’d bet there is 4-5 ft of silt on the bottom of that river that hasn’t seen any dredging in 30 years!
@@muckle8 Spot on, a little investment in the last few years would have gone a long way.

There will be no rowing there for a few days !!
Canada here, is this typical for this time of year?

Yep, it's called a 'British Summer' 😆
It's autumn now

@DavoInMelbourne I call it "miserable shitty British weather"
Nice mats of floating pennywort 🤕
EA want it to grow as it absorbs a lot of nitrates, the river is polluted the fish are dying off
Scarey indeed. Some of this boats moored so close to the torrent of water. Really hope they’re ok. Best wishes
That one was too close for comfort
Some of them look like they're going to break free any minute 😬
wow
Paddles up all along the canal should help get rid of the water
Ah yes, good point.
@@NarrowboatSuperB Pub puts Paddles up at that lock 🙂

Well done Carlos
I hope the owners have got all the horses and cows out of the fields this time. Last time was horrible, and tragic 😢
Hopefully won't get that bad this time.
