      No, just clear culverts and ditches out more often, in the Jan/Feb floods of this year streets in Loughborough were covered and flooded houses, it was later found to be the road drains blocked up.

    • @MRCAGR1
      @MRCAGR1 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NarrowboatSuperBabsolutely. I was born and raised in Burton on Trent in the early 1960’s and floods were a frequent occurrence, sometimes up to 6 feet in the Trent’s flood plain. The river had to be regularly dredged to reduce this problem. The Soar flows into the Trent, if the latter isn’t able to cope with the extra water from the former then flooding in and around Charnwood occurs. Then there are the brooks in Loughborough feeding the Soar and canal which exacerbates the problem. The solution is to dredge the Trent downstream from the Soar/Trent junction, then along the Soar and clear the canal. Finally, the old fashioned drainage ditches need clearing or dug.

    I have lived in the soar valley since 1964, its always been a problem, but much worse now, they need to dredge the rivers and clean out the dykes, I think down Slash they were doing something to the dykes along the side of the road a year or so back, but still the same not a lot of rain and we are back to square one, stupid EU laws prevent dredging! the local authorities are USLESS!

It's interesting that a third party rescue organisation with the right tools, equipment & experience, showed more care to the owner of the narrowboat and the users of the waterway, than the Canals & River Trust (CRT) did (you know, those guys 'in charge' post-British Waterways, whose CEO Richard 'I know quite alot about trains' Parry, keep asking for a 'raise' in levies from boat owners, whilst saying that he may have to 'shut down' parts of the Canal Network due to 'not having enough money'). Driving through the countryside and fields of cabbages under water and large puddles like lakes and ducks swimming in among the cabbages is the saddest part of this year of the war that is being waged against us all around the globe is a spiritual war against humanity and the creation of our own world is biblical prophecy of understanding scripture is not the religion that is behind all the wars and bloodshed and battles that we have been deceived by the world many different cultures and origins of worshipping the gods of our earth are the gods of Egypt they have manifested themselves in different ways and cultures belief’s and the number of different religions and faiths are all bowing down to the one god of this earth is lucifer and his principalities are the fallen angels who have sown their own seeds into the world and the Nephilim race of giants who are the kingdom’s of the earth and their empires that have evolved over centuries to become a new generation and world order in comparison with their ancestors Egypt and Egyptian practices of worship of slavery this is the new world that they have planned for us to live in a global society where Pharisees have fattened themselves and their families and created laws to enslave the people who have fallen back into captivity after being brought out of captivity by the Creator and into the promised land but sadly the people brought their practices and worship rituals and ceremonies and festivals with them and started to worship in secret to their inner circle of believers and servants of their gods and lucifer This was the truth behind the story of Israel and Jerusalem and the teachings of the temple in Jerusalem that the Pharisees were secretly involved with rituals and ceremonies and festivals that were not in the spirit of Jesus Christ to expose them to accused them of turning his Father’s house into a market place for a den of thieves and vipers who were fattening themselves and their families and not taking care of the people whom they were supposed to serve. This story has evolved into a glorified global wealthy marketplace where religious institutions have exploited the power of religion to deceive their own citizens in their respective religions. This is biblical prophecy of Jesus Christ to call the people out of the temple and teachings of himself to demonstrate the truth of the Holy Land and the Faith is Father is not a religion but sadly man has created more belief systems and governments systems of man made laws that are designed to create division and separation and conflict and confusion over religion and belief systems. Now they are reformed into one global order and belief system that is the anti Christian faith. This was what Jesus Christ was exposing for them to have him arrested and tried and sentenced to death on the cross and this was prophetic and written in the Bible Old Testament that all beliefs have been aware of the only thing they don’t accept the death and resurrection and that Jesus lives on that he has accented to heaven and he will return to reclaim the world from the devil and his kingdom of angels and people who have sold their souls to him. We are now witness to revelation unfortunately unfolding before our eyes. Jesus Christ is returning soon to fulfill the Holy Father who is the creator and not a religion that we have been led to believe. The world has been built on lies and false gods and belief’s and practices of paganism and occultism and satanic faith that is hidden behind all the existing religions and faith is not a temple built upon the world but built upon the word for the Lord Jesus Christ is the word and truth and he is the only true teachings and good shepherd is the only way to overcome this world is through faith in him and his love and trust no other man or religion is the key to wisdom in understanding the truth in the Bible. Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏

    There’s 2 reasons why the floods have get worse. new homes being built and the runoff water is directed into the drains. And the sluice gates on the rivers and canals are never operated anymore, which is the key factor of stopping flood. This was the reason why Loughborough flooded last year.
