One of the best reviews I’ve seen on the new Ventus line! This was the one I was waiting for and as usual you did not disappoint. Thanks for sharing the EI curves. The visual really helps.
Great review Simon. I’m currently playing Ventus TR Red 6s in TSR 9 degree, but actually interested in trying the TB or GT Diamana range and 1K Pro Blue. Any suggestions on which weight would be similar 6S/7S? Also which would be the most neutral balanced and tip staple out of all 4 shafts? Having a red shaft when rival football team is a red is a mental struggle lol
Sorry for the deleted reply. The 1k Pro will sit either side as the 60 is right 60 and the 70 at 70 whereas the TR is 66g. The GT is the most similar profile at 64g. The most neutral balanced is the 1k Pro
Great vid and informative as always. Just one question for Simon - at address, why do you always place the toe of the club head by the ball? Unconventional but wow, it works.
@@Precision_Golf Thanks Simon. I tried your approach last week at the range and it also works really well for me. Enables me to swing the club gently forward by 4-6" before the backswing just to get things moving, ie. a trigger?
Think of it this way, if you line up the ball to the center, when you lift the club head up to where you will actually hit the ball, you will be out of the heal. If you line it up to the toe at address and then lift it up to where it would be at impact, the ball will be actually lined up in the middle. Try it at home and you will see.
Do the ventus black and the hzrdus black 5g have very similar profiles, or opposite profiles? I've been told both. According to the manufactures the ventus black profile is ultra-stiff butt, stiff middle, ultra-stiff tip. And the Hzrdus black 5g being stiff butt, ultra-stiff middle, and stiff tip. So that's flipped around, but also not very objective measurments.
The 4th gen Hazrdus Black is a whippy shaft compared to the original Hzrdus Black shaft, so tou need to be more specific. My experience is that the Ventus Black is the most stable tip shaft without being too heavy/stiff that I have ever tried, and I believe that's why it's so popular among the better players.
Both series are tip stiff and designed for lower spin performance but the Ventus Black is composed of higher grade materials so generally plays stiffer than it feels - as someone else said the original Hzrdus black was poker stiff but was too much shaft for a lot of players whereas the Ventus Black does give a bit more back without losing stability of flight. The Hzrdus black Gen4 is also a higher balance shaft than the Ventus black so they will swing quite differently too
@@Precision_Golf Thanks. I know we generally don't recommend selecting wood shafts based on iron shafts, but maybe it can help narrow down choices to look at. I'm a very big fan of the Project X 7.0 shaft in my irons. Based on their profile, stiffness, weight, would you think something like the Ventus Black 7X would be a good thing to look at for driver?
Well done! The breakdown of each profile will help when testing/fitting.
Thank you 🙏🏼

Glad you enjoyed it Chris 👍🏻
Great review, thanks Simon.
No problem 👍
Nice 👍🏻
Thanks Michael 👍🏻

@@Precision_Golf super thanks Simon. I must try a 1k pro blue 6s to see if it would compliment modus 105x in irons. Currently in Tensei 1k black 6s

Good question, unfortunately a 25 year old
habit that has come to feel normal 👍🏻

I thought the Blue was softer in the handle going firm -> stiff -> ultra stiff at the tip
The S3 data shows the true profiles as they are independently tested but the Blue is much stiffer that the Black but suffer in the middle and tip
............
What are the balance points for Blue and Red across the 3 Generations (Ventus, TR and Ventus 2024)?
Red - original is mid to low balance, 2024 lower mid and TR mid.
Blue - original lower mid, 2024 mid and TR upper mid

@@freddym6643 it would certainly be a good start point in principle
@@Precision_Golf Any other suggestions? Guessing you don't fit many into PX 7.0, but what do those players have in their woods if you've seen any?
