Ah yes, the vicious cycle: >Set hard route, grade it hard >Get strong enough to climb route >Downgrade route because now you can climb it >Go out to see how your route compares to others >Doubt those grades because the climbs are easy for you from all your training >Go back home and train really hard in case you find some actual hard routes
You guys make these caller sessions really entertaining. Please do more. I don’t think anyone is gonna get bored. Not with the quality banter. ‘You know.....it’s not actually that hard’ 😂😂😂 If in doubt.....just spend another year training. There are projects out there waiting.
With cutting edge free solo cellaring like this, I'm astonished that we don't catch occasional glimpses of Jimmy Chin lurking behind the lawnmower, under a roll of insulation, etc (filming fly-on-wall). He's very humble to stay behind the camera the whole time.
the zoom on that beautiful face is cracking me up. gosh. i've been binging these videos and they make me so happy. thank you for filming and posting them, but mostly, just thank you for doing your thing and going for it. your drive is commendable
Everyone's building system walls, climbing on freezing and wet walls, or being sad that the gyms are closed. Pete and Tom just keep doing what they've always done. Covid proof training regimen
Apart from Sheffield went into tier three then lockdown recently so cella sessions for Pete were over...for the moment! This footage is from a little while back now. But you are right...not much changes, haha
Love the cellar foam furniture-reminds me of the back of the JTM meats pickup truck in a high speed trip from JTM meats headquarters in Harrison Ohio, to climb at Devils Lake Wis. in a high speed giant pickup truck with advanced radar detectors. The JTM CEO told us in the back to remain awake and watch the receding traffic for cop cars pacing us without radar signal.
You guys 'crack' me up when you're just chatting away in the cellar. Its really fun watching the cellar project. We don't get bored and yeah "its not that hard" 😳😳🤪
"This doesn't feel right compared to cellar" - does anyhing feel right compared to THE CELLAR? you two should just fully commit to cellar and rename yourselves to cellar boyz
I really find amusing that the masters of their craft are confused about the difficulty of what they're doing, like a musician playing the flight of the bumblebee and being like "Huh... This is easy..."
Yeh hopefully we'll get some more folk down there post corona, whenever that is... When Adam comes and finishes Rainman at Malham we'll coax him in. Although i presume that will be after the olympics now
could anyone explain why this crack sequence is particularly hard? is it the lack of foot jamming (using ‘real foot holds’)? steepness? or awkward sequencing?
Paddle hand size. So it's really thin. Plus we've got specific footholds and eliminated all foot jamming which makes it hard. The footholds are the key to difficulty on this one
Maybe Cellar-grades shouldn't be compared to outside grades ;-) Say the 'easiest' cellar-grade is C1, which may be like what outside, more or less? And than go up to C2 and so on. We have so many grading systems allready, it makes sense to add another one ;-)
Yeh we've had some suggestions on grading systems in the cellar. I think we're going to have to think of something that isn't 'C' grade though, as C grades are linked to 'clean aid' grades, and there defintiely isn't any clean aid going on down there...we're using crack gloves ;)
Pete said at the beginning "we're three sessions in adn we've made 3 videos. so we have to make some progress or people will stop watching." i strongly disagree!! I'll watch any damn video y'all make. especially if it's just you two falling off with great banter in between.

When will we get official Wide Boyz crash pads? You can give us choices like an old couch cushion or a wad of leftover insulation foam...
we'll put them on the webshop ;)

“The old Fliparoo” should be on a t-shirt.
The stuff you guys come up with while projecting is great.
The flipperoo, along with bish bash bosh have been requested, haha
@@WideBoyz How subtle of you, to correct the spelling like that 🤣

I am going to double bag all my crash pads now so I can just return them later, thanks for idea gents

Can I throw my hat into this auction?
That pad is lying there useless whilst I'm sleeping on the floor daily :'(
I'm still sh*t at remembering sequences... Story of my life
Once you’ve got the crux the climb allways seems so much easier.
But that is still one hell of a climb
It's go nå be tricky from the beginning. We haven't even done a move in the first crux yet! And you guys haven't seen that yet 😉
