In her verse she also pointed out that he was not understood, and tried to help Mirabel understand his struggle too. I feel like if she truly feared him, she would have told her family that he had been living there for the last 10 years. Because look at how fast she spilled Mirabel's secret when she was truly afraid that the family was in trouble

His personality probably would never have allowed him to say it aloud, but this was definitely something he probably felt inside. He's quiet, shy, self-conscious, but quiet, shy, and self-conscious people still feel like this. I think it would have been cool if they had done like a flashback of all of his years hiding alone with this playing in the background. He doesn't necessarily have to be singing it, but it could show all of the emotions and anger and reflection that he went through when he was alone for so long. Or if they make an Encanto 2, I think this song would be a good call back. Bruno got very little resolution at the end of the movie- it started off with HIM apologizing to everybody rather than vice versa. I think in a second movie, it should cover all of the ways that this has traumatized and affected him, and maybe go over that flashback that I was talking about with a song like this playing in the background, showing exactly how much his FAMILY and not just his gift hurt him. I feel like there was a lot of unaddressed issues regarding how his mother and siblings treated his absence, and how he had to watch his nieces and nephew grow to fear him as a result.

I'd say that Bruno maybe loved Mirabel more than most of her family. He left to protect Mirabel at the beginning. He was prepared to take the blame instead of it being put on Mirabel at the end.
