I was putting this off because other videos were pulling the gas tank and making things look difficult to get to. It is the same but easier than the FuelX. Thanks again for another great tutorial
Bypass your switch, make sure you have some way of tying up that kickstand. Could be surprised if the side stand spring exits stage left on you. It happens more often than you might think. Probably the number one reason why that switch is there in the first place.
I have purchaised this bypass plug and opened it. The fact is, it consist from only one resistor of 3.9 kOhm. Thats all. So you can save your money ant use this resistor to mimic the sensor.
Cool Idea.. and I personally would make a toggle switch in between the kickstand and the ECU plug that toggles between kickstand and the bypass plug just so you can switch it back to stand sensor when needed :).. It saves you from the hassle of connecting and removing :) . That connector plug is very easy to get very common type connector and wire a switch in between that tuck under the seat or frame. Not necessary but sometimes it's good to have that kickstand cut-off feature :)
@@advinjapan No I haven't done it personally but one of my friend did this on his benelli 502x. but can be done on 390 adv as well :) . you have to find that plug (2 male and 1 female i guess) one female goe in the ecu side and 2 male connects to side stand and one to bypass adaptor. and a 3 pin toggle switch of any kind. just wire it pin-to pin properly between all 3 plugs except for main signal wire, the signal wire from ecu side plug goes to neutral pin of the switch because it's the common point of the circuit and signal wire from stand and adaptor plugs goes to each of the other two pins of the switch. So one position connects to stand and ecu and othe to adaptor. Any good electrician can wire it easily :). Let me see if I can draw a diagram and link it to you :)
It also depends on how aggressive you ride and the conditions. The more aggressive you are and the more rocky the terrain, the more important this device becomes. 👍
Ok another test question with this bypass. On some bikes when you bypass the kick stand switch cut out it also disables the engine cut out in the tip over sensor so when you drop the bike on its side the engine won't cut out. I know my previous Honda was like this. I'm wondering it the Ktm is wired up the same
Hey Anthony, I’m not quite sure about the more expensive bigger KTMs, but the KTM 390 adventure does not have a tip over sensor so it wouldn’t apply here. Hope this helps.
I would imagine so, the engine is the same and the frame looks similar. I’d order from a legit company so you can return them if they don’t. Be sure to look at the mounting points in this video and line them up with your bike. th-cam.com/video/H-6DZEvRao0/w-d-xo.html

You are most welcome Ron, thanks for dropping by 👍
Thank you for digging in with cool DIY tips and tricks!
Thanks John!

Thanks a lot, very much noted.

That’s right. But I don’t mind supporting a small company out in India.

That’s a great idea, have you done that already?

I didn't had any issue off-road with the kick-stand, at least not yet. Good to know however!

Another great video. And worth getting if do some light off roading. Keep up the good work. And always look forward to your videos. As me in Uk. 😊
Thanks guy, as always!
@@advinjapan Also biased to. As have the same colour and 2021 model. Which I prefer this colour out of all of them lol 😆
@guystevens162 I actually didn’t like it at first but it was all they had. It’s really grown on me, it really stands out.
@@advinjapan I was other way. Wanted a new 2022 version. But didn't do that colour I liked. So got a 2021 model only had 100miles on it. Win win. 😊😁
これいいですね。

does this fit on the duke 390 2017 (facelift model) too? I only find them for the adventure 390 or older 390 models

Hey, check out the description, there’s a guy with instagram who can hook you up.
"Coil" not "Voltage Regulator" ;-)
Thanks for the clarification Sheldon😅🙏
