Force issue. If the lights blink it’s the sensors. If they don’t then you might want to check the force and limits.

Might be the force of its older opener adjusting the force limits can help cause it seems to be doing that in the same spot

That was one of the first things I tried, but it didn’t solve the issue. I filed the steel bar near the cable drums and end bearing plates, where I noticed friction during operation. The issue is resolved, but I’m not sure why-I did a lot of things. The force limits are still set high, though I’m unsure if that’s relevant. The door is heavy, around 400-450 lbs. I’m considering replacing the torsion springs and filing the entire bar to remove rust while I'm at it.

Might be the sensors. And is that a 2015 Mazda 3? If so it’s nice my dad has one too

The sensors seem fine, and I fixed the issue, though I'm not sure how. The steel bar holding the torsion springs was very rusty, so I relieved the tension, filed the rust near the cable drums and end bearing plates, and rewound the springs. I also cleaned the RPM sensor in the opener. The problem is resolved, so I'm holding off on replacing the torsion springs until they fail.

I think the sensors are aligned. I have checked it probably over 10 times in the last 2-3 weeks since this issue started. The garage door opener does not yield any error, it just closes. But once the door closes, opening and closing the door does not display this issue, until 10-15 hours. It starts again after it is not used for an extended period of time. After I replaced the bottom rubber seal, we have been observing this issue.

@@ilyasyildirim try to unplug and plug back the main motor on top that opens the door so it can reset and relearn the door operation

@@riversidepressurewashing2024 I believe I've identified the issue, but I'm unsure how to fix it. It appears that the right side of the door (which is the left side in the video) is positioned too close to the tracks compared to the left side. The bolts on the right side-specifically the top parts of the carriage bolts-are worn out, while the bolts on left side don't seem to have this problem. This may have been an ongoing issue for some time, yet the door was closing without any issue. However, after replacing the bottom rubber seal, I started observing this problem. When the door is fully closed or fully open, it sits correctly in place without any gaps or misalignment; thus, I do not think this is torsion spring and/or safety cable related issue. Just for testing purposes, I shifted the door to left side when the door was fully open, but it went back to its issue-causing-state after opening and closing the door several times. The shift, however, is minimal-about 1/8 inch-but it's enough to cause the door to drag and not close properly at times. I plan to replace the carriage bolts with flathead ones to reduce friction and apply some grease to these bolts as a temporary fix. I'm uncertain if there's a permanent solution for this issue.
