    You know, I didn't even notice any kid noise until you pointed it out, lol! This was such a good instructional video that I was complete focused on what you were saying and doing, so don't worry about the kiddos. I really appreciate that you are working in limited size gardens, which is what probably most of us have. It shows what can be done. 💐

    Hello new sub here, I came across your channel the other day and I absolutely love your videos😍
    I love honey suckle as well and I have it in my back yard, this season will be it’s second year in the ground and I want to try this with my suckle.
    ? As the seasons go by, do You just keep looping it around the wire until you get to the thickness you desire and trim the remaining that continues to grow. Thanks🙏

    • @DigPlantWaterRepeat
      @DigPlantWaterRepeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thank you so much for watching and subbing! 💕 I just keep looping them around but at times will prune out some of the old dead growth underneath. Honeysuckle does really well with hard prunes so its kind of a varying amount of pruning. If I notice a lot of dead on the inside I will do a hard prune, if not then I will just keep trimming it to my desired thickness! Hope that helps! 💕

    That’s a great idea, does Ivy love sun or more shade? I have a solid wall of 4 six by six panels of plastic fence and the area gets mostly sun ☀️.New sub here

    • @DigPlantWaterRepeat
      @DigPlantWaterRepeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amy! Thanks for watching and subscribing! I really appreciate it! 💗 Ivy can handle full sun to full shade but does a bit better on the partial sun side! I think it's worth a try! Otherwise, look into honeysuckle. I did an espalier with that as well and it gets more sun and is very happy!

    Nice work Janie, you have fortunate friends. I wouldn’t be surprised if you do this again. To make it a bit easier with your set up it would speed it up a bit if you used a chalk line for your horizontal lines. It washes right off when finished. If alone you tie one end to a temporary nail and hold the other end then snap. Enjoying your videos being from southern Calif.

    Hi Janey, you're the best neighbor! It's nice that you're able to share your expertise in the neighborhood. Love this project. We used to have ivy on our house, but it became an ant paradise and they eventually began to invade the house. It had to go at that point, but the roots are still persistent in a couple of places & have to be trimmed back each year. This espalier is a great way to keep it under control from the the beginning. I wish the previous homeowners had done this before the ivy took over! 👍🏻👍🏻

    Good morning, Janey, or should I call you "side yard Janey".🤔 Wonderful video. I have several areas that I can do that and I think I've to decided to do it on the fence by my carport. It's such a blank area but very narrow so it would be prefect. I've begun taking cuttings of my potted ivy (yes, I do have variegated ivy 😊) to work on this project. Thanks for the lesson.
    Enjoy the rain, hopefully more is coming.

      @@DigPlantWaterRepeat that lady banks is an out of control rose, LOL. I bought 2 to fill a small portion of my fence and I just planted them and let them go and they’re going crazy. Thankfully some good pruning videos helped me figure out how to shape it for better blooms and this video is a great guide to creating a beautiful design. She will be that much prettier! (I have the white version, which is ‘mostly’ thornless).
      I have a baby Katrina rose that I could do this with also! LOL! (I have 2 acres and half (the backyard) is privacy fenced, so no shortage of backdrops to work with 😉)
