At first i was like "Hey, Toon Link was in Wind Waker first!!" After a little research i learn Four Swords came 11 day before Wind Waker. I learn something today.
I know, right? Still, I'd put Wind Waker instead because I think it was were he was shown first, the infamous Space World trailer that created mixed opinions way back, and I THINK WW was in production before FS or at least they created Toon Link's design with WW in mind, also, I think Toon Link is representing his WW self a lot more. Because by the same logic, this video would have shown Roy has being in Smash melee as his place of origin instead of his main game.
The artwork, origin and development it's from Wind Waker; his release was delayed, like lots TLOZ. The four Sword development, was short, and they use the same artwork.

Smash has gotten to the point where people don't know where half of the characters come from.

Half of them are from fire emblem or Pokemon.
Well, then you don't know videogames very well. Smash even implemented original (sometimes a bit remixed) Soundtracks and voices for example from toon link.

Everyone is gonna ignore the fact that Roy appeared in Melee before Binding Blade
Smash has done that with a lot of characters mainly to promote their games. Like corrin was released before FE: Fates was released and bayonetta only became a part of the roster to promote her second game even though its more specifically targeted towards adults so its questionable. Pit was also added as well... I guess Pit was revived by sakurai in brawl before kid icarus uprising came.
So basically the story is smash adds characters before their game is released to promote games with Pit being a special boy.

The thing I like about greninja is that he hadn’t even appeared in a game by the time he was being developed for smash. He was developed at the same time for smash as his first game and didn’t have any moves so Sakurai gave him some he made up, hence why he has a bunch of unique moves in the Pokémon games.
Roy and Corrin are in a similar boat, except Corrin’s game was already out in Japan, while Roy’s wasn’t out yet anywhere, meaning he technically first appeared in Melee.

You have to appriciate the attention to detail in the origin of the charachters AND move sets. Most moves are inspired or taken from the Characters past games, like Ridley's fireballs for example, the first time Samus encountered him, he shot five fire balls, how many does he fire? Five.

I adore how accurate and ordered this is! I like how you show mostly gameplay but no plot related cutscenes unless introduced in the ending like Zelda and Palutena. Though I question Falco and K Rool’s out of order introductions Falco I can forgive since he and Fox appear simultaneously. My favorites are between R.O.B. and Ryu for actually showing Gyromite without R.O.B. and Fighting Street in all its glory XD excellently put together!
I personally question the use of NES Metal Gear especially since there's also the original MSX version.

Wow, another fantastic compilation. I have to say, out the origins, Dark Samus is by far the most compelling to me. She's technically the dark counterpart to Samus, but It's logically so. Metroid Prime made herself a humanoid body by consuming the Phazon suit as well as a greater sense of sentience. I'm so glad you included the MP2 final duel two. That was one of the most badbutt moments in Metroid history.

I honestly think you should have included Star Fox 64 as Wolf's first appearance..because, despite Star Fox 2 being developed earlier..it wasn't officially released until 2017. In addition, Villager first appeared on the N64, but only in Japan. The Gamecube version is an enhanced port of it.

20:18 Lucario's first appearance was actually in "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew" the pokemon movie, not Diamond and Pearl. For those who are saying "Red rescue team" was the first appearance, that game was released AFTER the "Lucario and the mystery of mew" movie. The movie was released in July 2005 (Japan), while Red rescue team was released in November 2005 (Japan). Meaning the easter egg have to had been put in after the movie.
Making lucario the ONLY smash bros character to have ever appeared in a movie first instead of a game.

Johnny Eyeball You should know exactly what I mean. It isn't out yet. Yeah, other franchises are ongoing, but I'm assuming the evolution videos were made after things were fully revealed/released? Those are said and done releases, right? Right. There are more playable characters yet to be revealed, therefore this video is premature. The Smash Direct just came out on the 8th, and there's more to come. Also, your argument makes no sense in relation to what I originally posted.

Because, I mean, you’re right, the full roster hasn’t been revealed yet, and there is the possibility of DLC characters (although, Sakurai, you have 70+ characters already in this shit, please don’t stress yourself out with that).
