This was in no way a 'legal hunt' situation. Abuse is abuse and people should be upset that this person was allowed to get away with such a lenient fine. People who abuse animals frequently abuse people too. 😢

The Wyoming authorities are cowards for not prosecuting this animal torturer to the full extent of the law. He should have received jail time for such animal abuse. If I know my WY brothers and sisters well enough, this is one **** that will become bear bait to put it kindly. Wolves have a bad rap, just like certain dog breeds. With the right education, rescue, and rehab programs, we can hopefully curb or stop horrific acts like this from happening again. How would he like to suffer like he made that beautiful wolf suffer? Wyoming seems to be a horrible place for wolves , not just because of this story, but they are too easily hunted and killed there.

If it were up to me he’d be behind bars for a minimum of 20 years. Plus probation for at least 5 years after that, court mandated therapy, and prohibition from owning or driving a vehicle of any sort until proven not to be a threat to any other living creature.
There is fines but sadly fines mean nothing to people in this matter. There needs to be jail time and probation, as this is in my opinion “destruction of natural wildlife”

Much of the anti wolf sentiment comes from many sources, all of which are based on lies, ignorance and hatred.
Ranchers claim they destroy their business, but conveniently brutal murder seems to be their only suggestion. They don't like being told to get a pack of Kengels or have better barriers, so seems to me they just want revenge.
Hunters claim wolves are unnecessary and killing them isn't a big deal because they don't really have feelings, even though it's been proven beyond all doubts that even FISH feel pain and remember that pain and act accordingly in fear of experiencing that pain again (source: AVNJ). An animal whose behavior and lifestyle reflect a huge amount of awareness and emotional depth is being hunted with more hatred and violence than any other animal I've ever seen aside from maybe sharks. Terrorists are treated better both in action and even opinion than wolves by these aforementioned people.
Penalties will definitely help, but education even more so. Once I made an ignorant person compare their dogs' feelings and behavior to wolves mourning their dead or playing and building relationships and they just couldn't deny that wolves were very emotionally aware. We need to keep educating people as much as possible.

. The cruelty of humans knows no ends they kill just to kill. And in Michigan where it's illegal someone killed a wolf so rare in the lower peninsula it's almost unheard of. I understand why such a photo would need to be posted, though. As hard as it is to see, sometimes these sort of things really do need to be shown so that people know just how seriously awful the circumstances are; that way there's no room for giving the benefit of the doubt to someone who clearly doesn't deserve it. & speaking of what he does deserve, well, James said it perfectly in the video here.

I've seen footage of what people have done to wildlife before, it has stayed with me forever, once you've seen these images, they are always in your head. If a person can do this to a defenceless animal & get pleasure out of it, what will they go on to do? This "man" got a stupid amount fine, that won't stop him doing it again, only worse next time & how many times has he done similar in the past? What had this young wolf done to deserve that? Nothing, no animal deserves the vile treatment they get from some deranged humans! 😫
Here it is 2024. It might as well be cave-man days; we are that uncivilized. That torturer has yet to meet his and that wolf's Maker.
I have spent most of my 73 years studying the human propensity for cruelty. People like the man who did this terrible thing are a danger not only to wild and domestic creatures but humans as well, should they perceive them as weak, less than the group to which the abuser belongs or bluntly, easy prey. The state’s action against him will only make him feel justified in his behavior and even more dangerous than he is already. Those who watched him torture and kill that pup and taking what I would guess are “momento” pictures are also deeply concerning. I am grieved for the mother and her pup and for you as well. We need federal protection laws. Leaving anything related to cruelty and abuse up the states has always left huge numbers of people and the animals with whom we share this planet in danger.
That is so sad. So sad that people think, " oh well, it's just a wolf that is vicious and mean." So sad. 😢

The thought of what has been done to those innocent beautiful wolves sickens me. Just listening to James talking about the incident brings me to tears. To violate animals in any way shape or form should bring down the harshest punishment to the perpetrators. I have also signed the petition.

I came across your channel because of the Cody Roberts/wolf story. Couldn't watch the videos that are coming out showing the torture, but I cannot stop thinking about the photos and the look in that poor wolf's eyes. I think it will haunt me forever. The only thing that can give me peace is to see justice for the wolf and the assurance that the abuser (and others) will be stopped from doing such horrific acts to other animals. The fact that no one stepped up in that bar to defend the wolf speaks volumes about what must be happening to other wildlife/animals there - how could others participate or look away? We need to not let this go - to continue to put pressure on the authorities in WY. I hope everyone will take the time to reach out and be a voice for the victim. RIP to the beautiful wolf that endured what no animal should.
